Rainwood was a large town in the Silent Forest far to the south of most other civilizations. The Clan Wars had ended about ten years ago, a war where basically everyone was fighting for supremacy. It had been tragic, yet epic at the same time and now that it was over and society rebuilt itself, life was boring. Rainwood was a lumbering town, people would cut down trees and use the wood to sell to the cities of the north. But mostly people drank and dealt with the drama of the world that most people don't experience in Fantasy RPG's.
Driscoll was a traveling Mage and because of the cheap room and board here, he stayed. He wasn't an all powerful Druid Mage, just a regular magic man in a land where magic had become very scarce. He wasn't praised for his magical knollege more like looked down upon for wasting his life on magic instead of finding a real job. Life in Rainwood was... Well, kinda grey.

Don't get her wrong sky loved her village and the people in it she just the fact that she had to hide that she could do magic from the town she couldn't do anything major though she wishes she could infact the only reason she couldn't let the town know is because she may have had a few accidents when using her magic and what magic she did know was very little and was from a book she had stolen as a child and just because she set the house on Fire a few .....hundred times she can't use it in public anymore and now her father wants her to get married of all things she was not ready for that but she had to be she went to the chicken coop and gathered eggs which was her last chore for the day and went home to prepare for market tommarow life in rain wood was.....boring
Driscoll was in the Tavern acting as a bard, playing piano and doing magic tricks for coin... That was until a lumber man stopped him and asked if he wanted a job. Grow trees quickly for the town to chop down, they could double maybe even triple sales! "I'll have to think about it, I'll get back to you in a few days..." But he knew his answer, and their had to be better ways to make money around here then harming trees or animals.
After the lumber man finished talking to Driscoll, he returned to his group of friends, made up of other lumber workers. One of them, slightly built and rather younger, was glowering at Driscoll. "I don't like it. We don't need magic to do our job."
The other man, an overseer of sorts, just laughed. "Maybe you don't think we need it, but an increase in profits would definitely make the rest of us happy. Besides Rowan, aren't you trying to save up for something? You'd be there in no time with a larger pay."
Rowan just scowled and crossed her arms. "I don't like it." She repeated firmly.
He just shook his head. "You act like such a girl sometimes."
Rowan's eyes flicked over to him and her scowl deepened. "Don't insult me." It didn't matter to her that they thought she was a boy. It did make things rather easier too.

Inside the Bar, there was a man named Allec that his job is a blacksmith that run the family business in this village that he sit right side corner of the bar that he drank about 5 mugs of sweet wine. After his drink he stand up and leave the payment on the table that he was gonna leave the bar. Suddenly he saw that the waitress was completely harassed by a drunk brute, He can't ignored it that he went to there and he immediately grab the hand of the hand of the brute while the waitress walk away quickly.
The Brute look at his with a drunken anger expression "Whats Your Problem Kid?!" that he immediately stand up that his height is about 5 feet tall than him. Allec was little surprise by his height that he replied kindly " I dont like that your harassing an innocent waitress in this time of hour and that makes you an immoral type of person." After his response the brute felt insulted by his word that he deliver a heavy punch on Allecs face that hit him right side of his cheek. As Allec look back with a bruise on his face, "Your quite heavy tempered there...I suggest that violence is not the answer on this kind of situation." The brute felt really insulted by that response that he is gonna do it again, but Allec dodge the punch and he delivered a heave low jab punch on the stomach of the brute. The brute felt a pain by that punch that he knelt down and both of his hands hold the stomach because of the pain. Allec lowered his head towards his "Please forgive me by that, If you don't stop on what your doing..." Allec grin a little and said in a joyous tone " I swear I might break one of your bones one by one". The brute felt scared by that he quickly stand up leave the bar as fast as he can.
People start murmuring about him that he is both the nicest and scariest type of person only if you dont mess with him. Some of the rumor say that he is like the berserker on a sheep skin, and some say his rage is uncontainable. So the rumors spread quickly.

Driscoll finished his spell and went back to drinking, no way a brute like that would run scared of a halfling such as Allec so to help the kid out Driscoll had cast a Fear spell. The brute wasn't running from the boy, but was running from Driscoll. "Your welcome," Driscoll smiled, although it would take a very perceptive person to realize what had happened.
That is when the old Dwarven bar tender turned to Driscoll, the Dwarf mentioned how he saw Driscoll was unemployed and how he dealt with that Brute, non-violently. "What's your point Dwarf? You offering me a job??" And in fact he was... That is how Driscoll became the new Bartender at the Broken Bar Stool!

Rowan watched silently. The other lumber workers were murmuring amongst each other in awe of the elf's magic. They weren't sure how but the head lumber man had said he'd seen the magic and they were inclined to believe him.
"See? He'd be the perfect man to help us!" The lumberman said, pleased with himself.
Rowan rolled her eyes. "Well looks like your star magic man just accepted a job to work here instead. Too bad, I starting to like this place." She drained her mug while the lumberman flustered and approached the bar.

The dwarf looked at Driscoll and ushered him to come back around the bar, "first customer already? I didn't know I started so soon..." The dwarf laughed but his seriousness couldn't be more real, so Driscoll walked around the bar and looked at Rowan. His eyes flared as he used a detect magic spell on her, despite the name; magical properties weren't all the spell detected. "What can I get you... Young lady," Driscoll winked.
Sky soon entered the bar and could just feel that some one used magic in here she quickly moved through the bar and sat at the bar not far from Rowan and sighed "I'm gonna kill that man" she stated blankly as she stared at the drinks on the bar wall and decided to have a little fun she quickly points her finger at the bartender and changes the color of his cloths to pink then smiles as she waits for him to notice her spell she laughs whole heartedly "totally worth it" she mutters under her breath noticing the bartenders displeased look
Allec though to himself that he sigh " This always happen everytime when I walk in the bar." Allec turned around and walk out the Bar that he is going back to his business at his Family's Blacksmith Shop. As he arrived he got a note that said " Dear Allec Onstone, Please be sure make 10 swords, 10 shields, and ten light armors for the supply at the Kingdom of Justice. I hope you will finish it for 5 days." as he finish reading it he crumple the paper and threw it at the ground. After that he start working on it.
Driscoll was pouring a drink when the dwarf's cloths changed colors, but before the bartender could notice Driscoll use prestidigitation to change the clothing back to normal. With a green flare of his eyes he walked over to Sky, leaving Rowan's drink in front of her. "So another magic user in Rainwood? I thought I was the only one..."
"Thank you sir......I don't know much magic but I do so love to pull small pranks.....I know very little magic sadly ....id love to open a magic academy but I lack the skill and plus I won't be able to after my father forces me to marry " she sighs
"Rainwood is a pretty small town to open up a school like that anyway, why don't you attend the Arcane Acadamy in Sky Harbor, it's just over the mountains... Probably a two week, maybe three week journey from here." That wasn't where Driscoll learned but he was familiar with the establishment, "either that or you could seek out the Druidic Village of Lightning where I'm from, it is hidden to the south of here... Only a Druid can find it," he winked and gave her a glass of water, she looked under age.
((Rowan wasn't the one that went up to the bar))
Rowan's mood darkened as she grumbled about "dirty arrogant elves" and "rotten magic." She was completely unaware that he'd even said anything to her. She tilted her seat back on to two legs and stared into the flames of the fireplace keeping the bar warm, contemplating her situation now. She had good pay here, better than other places she'd been, and she did need the money. This was the only bar in town though, and she'd be damned if she'd let anyone, especially a magic-using elf, make her leave.

"I'm twenty four I'll drink as I damn well please " she curses under her breath and flips her hair to reveal a small marking on her neck that looks like a set of crystal wings
After a long hard day, Allec manage to finish the request that he decided to cool off at the bar. He enters in and sit beside sky that he asked the water for a sweet grape wine in a good tone.
"what a hard day.."He said to himself while he wait for the drink

"Geezzz, touchy..." As soon as Driscoll said that the Dwarven bartender elbowed him in the gut and gave a drink to Sky, apologizing for Driscoll's rudeness.
"Welcome back," Driscoll said as Allec returned, the kid left for ten minutes and came right back. After the event before he didn't even question Allec's age, "ya know your big mouth is the reason I got this job so your first drink is on the house!" Turning back to Sky, your drink will be two silver..."
She quickly throws some silver to him and begins to chug her drink "that's the good stuff" she says as she finishes it
