While perusing through the less respectable form of market, at night, in the kingdom of Tempus Veridium, you come across a stall that sells jewelry. Many of their pieces are wonderfully beautiful and finely crafted, but a flat brown box attracts your attention above all else. The stall vendor seemed reluctant to part with it, saying the necklace was enchanted, it was dangerous, but finally agreed to part with it after much begrudging argument. From the time when you got home and put it on to the point when you woke up in prison was all a blur, but you woke up looking at a dimly lit stone roof with the shadows of the bars of your cell crossing around it, angry guards throwing tasteless cold food to you, and the leader of your country seemed to be very unhappy with you in particular.
