The Forums link (and the link by the same name on the page it leads to) does not appear to represent a default forum if the user doesn't choose from the dropdown menu. Perhaps it should lead to the top-level index?
It currently leads to forums.php which shows an error denoting the lack of assigned forum ID.

Err.. can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing? The forums link in the nav menu DOES lead to a top level index that simply lists all the forums, and has for years. Or should. Unless you are clicking in a place I am unaware of?
Now that I go back to get you a screenshot, it appears the issue has gone. It wasn't a one-time occurrence, so I'd assumed this wasn't a fluke.
The error was a MySQL complaint about malformed POST parameters, which would make sense if the PHP wasn't expecting zero arguments, but I don't see the issue anymore, so my conclusion's evidently off-target.
Oh, well. I'll be sure to take a screenie if it happens again. Sorry about the disruption.

That's utterly bizarre. The forums it looks up on that page are hard-coded -- there should be no circumstance under which it is possible for it to not know which forums to look up.
I would definitely appreciate a screenshot if you ever spot it again! What a mystery.
