...Because suddenly, my profile has been halved! All my precious lore... My Projects... Gone. Damn, I had more than 20 bits of stuff in that collapse tag! Now all there is is a bit about marks and the very start of the sentence explaining a common disease! Kim, are you the source of my pain? Or has the RPR decided it wanted to punish me? THESE TEARS AIN'T DRYING!!! Now what..? Destroy what's left in order to start again..? I don't know what I wrote..! That's why I put it up there... Ohoho... I'll have to make a group page now just for it, huh..?

I'm sort of hurt you think I'd implement an update that would damage people's data, and not do everything within my power to warn people, and find ways to save, move or restore their data where necessary if that update were unavoidable. =/

I have not changed any limits on either character, user or group profiles -- they remain the same as they were a year ago. If you send me the information about what profile you are having problems with, and when the last time you saw it intact was, I can investigate what happened and perhaps get what went missing out of backup.

I'm sorry to assume, Kim, of course you wouldn't. I know, I was panicking. It was my own dear Profile, and it just litterally halved. The last time I saw it all... Was I think the 16th maybe? Perhaps the 7th actually. I'm certain I had it all on the 27th of Feb, though. Certainly certain.

My, that sounds terrifying, SIN. I really do hope you get your info back via Kim's backup.

But now I have a question: Is there a limit to how many characters or words we can put in each field? Just so I and maybe others can be a bit more careful in the future. I'm not sure if I should make this in a separate thread, but since it's related...

This is not something you need to fear. There is a limit on how much you can put into various fields, but it's pretty huge. For user profiles specifically, it's 29135 characters (which comes to roughly 14567 words). Hitting this limit also does not result in your profile being randomly gobbled up at some point down the line; instead, when trying to save too much info, you get an error page that tells you it's too much info to save, and then displays it all on that page so you can safely copy/paste it into a word file (or whatever).
