"How'd I do it? I walked in his office, placed the papers on his desk and walked out," Evangeline said shortly and then continued, "And for your information I do not need to show my boobs to my boss to keep my job."

After glaring at the woman and walking to her office door she turned around and said, "Mr Bartolo will give you your papers. In the mean time; shoo..." she said making a gesture, walking into the office and slamming the door. 

Everyone was shooed out of the room, shocked and surprised. But they didn't really have a choice to stay. So they went about their job, all gossiping as always. Dante worked through the papers, until he got a phonecall. Afterwards, he got up and walked to the door of his room, leaning in the doorway once he opened it. "Hodgson!" he barked. "You're working late tomorrow night. Wear something fancy." With nothing more in the way of explanation, he turned and went back into his office to finish the paperwork.
Once everything was signed, he dropped it all on her desk on his way out so that she could send it to the right departments. "I'm going to bed. Don't forget to look nice tomorrow." he stated as he left.

As he shouted the command through his door she didn't reply but merrily nodded. She replied to some emails before he came storming in and dropped off the paperwork. "Thank you," she said quietly not addressing his mood. She listened as he went on about something fancy to wear and she nodded and replied in the same monotone voice, "I will."

She visited each department and placed the paperwork on each of the required desks and left. At home she chose out a simple but elegant navy blue, full length dress. She hoped it was 'fancy' enough for whatever and wherever they were going.

((time skip to the evening))

Everyone had gone home and Evangeline walked towards Dante's door clutching a silver purse before knocking and entering, "So, boss, where exactly are we going?"

Dante looked up when she entered. He was fixing his tie, since he too had changed into more formal attire, black and white per his usual. "Oh, good. You're here." He looked her over with a critical eye, then walked over to his suitcase. He had several different color ties, and he pulled out one that was a blue that almost matched her perfectly. He started putting it on. "One of our affiliates is holding a big fundraiser event. I need to make an appearance. I needed a suitable plus-one and Michelle is having one of her tantrums." Michelle, his flavor of the month. He enjoyed several girls, but each month he had a different specific one that would attend events with him.

"Right," she simply nodded. She would've asked about Michelle but she stopped herself. The thought of being Dante's girl was a bit nauseating since they didn't know each other too well. 

Evangeline took a seat in Dante's office chair, put one leg over the other and watched him. Once finished she leapt up and asked, "Ready to go?"

Dante made sure his tie was straight and tight, then nodded. "I am." He held his arm out to her. "Word to the wise; smile, nod, and if you can avoid it, don't talk. You're not PA, you're Ms. Hodgson. Got it?" He walked out with her, a limo was waiting at the front to take them to the event.
When they arrived, she would be impressed. Important businessmen, famous celebrities, and the like. He arrived, and the paparazzi immediately descended upon them. He smiled and waved, and nudged her to pose with him. When the pictures were finished, he made his way to the actual event. "Remember; smile, nod and don't speak."

Evangeline smiled and posed in front of the flashing cameras as she was suppose to. It helped that she read lots of magazines with fashion icons and actors in so she knew what and how she should pose. 

As they made their way into the building, reporters pushed passed for any pieces of information. They asked Evangeline lots of questions and how she was related to Mr Bartolo. She simply declined to say anything and kept on going. 

When they made their way into the building she smirked to Dante, "How did I do?" 

Dante would pick up the questions anytime she was accosted. "This is the lovely Ms. Hodgson, she's my date for the night." He winked and kissed her cheek, much to the delight of the reporters, then tugged her inside. "You did well. If you get really stuck and you have to say something, just talk in glowing terms about the company and me. They'll eat up every bit of it. Or talk about how happy you are to be able to take part in this event. Any shit like that, they'll love."
He walked through the crowd, smiling calmly. He introduced her to a few celebrities that came up to him. It seemed he was known in all the circles.

Evangeline smiled at the reporters and commented on how well the business was going, what designer dress she was wearing and how she knew of Mr Bartolo. She was extremely excited to meet the celebrities and didn't mind the attention the reporters gave her...she just hated the flashing cameras.

After half and hour or so, they took their seats at a table surrounding celebrities, businessmen and high class socialites. Lots of speeches were made and Mr Bartolo was finally called up. Evangeline smiled at him and applauded with the others as he went up onstage.

Dante was quite the kind, sociable man. It was strange. When he arrived on stage, he gave a touching, encouraging speech that got plenty of applause afterwards. He went back to his table, and once he settled in his seat she would recognize a look in his eyes that made her realize he hated being up on that stage. No doubt she'd get an earful of his rant later.
But during the dinner, they also dined with several celebrities. Many people were quite enamored with Evangeline and curious about her. Of course, they were all curious because she was with Dante. Mr. Bartolo had brought a new woman, one that wasn't a model or fashion star that they recognized.

"You did well," Evangeline whispered in Dante's ear as he sat down. He looked a little stressed and she made a mental note that she would bring the issue up afterwards. 

Afterwards Evangeline socialised with the many people there. They asked her questions about her life which she happily answered. She also meet a man who seemed very mysterious but at the same time quite attractive and egotistic. She immediately compared him with Dante and they talked for quite a bit about business, fashion and travelling. 

Dante obviously had several different circles. The host of the event himself came up to Dante, discussing pleasure or business, or maybe both. Dante sent the odd glance to Evangeline to make sure she was alright, but otherwise let her socialize as needed. It was kind of nice. His other girls would always cling to his arm.
The event continued, and after a while, it started to die down. Dante walked up, resting his hand on the small of Evangeline's back. "Pardon me," he interrupted with a polite smile, "but I'm afraid I have to get my princess back home before the carriage turns into a pumpkin."

Evangeline smiled at Dante as he came over. The other man noticeably stiffened up and a certain tension rose between the two men.

Evangeline sighed, "Well it's been a pleasure to talk to you Mr Menzies," she smiled, "Of course Mr Bartolo; Ms Hodgson," said Mr Menzies, the other man.

Dante gave the man a cold look, though his lips were smiling politely. "Menzies. Have a good night." He took Evangeline's other hand and drew her along with him, sparing a brief glance over his shoulder. "...out of all the men, you had to talk to him?" he grumbled. They got into the limo, and as soon as it pulled away Dante slumped in his seat and sighed, undoing his tie. "That was exhausting. Socializing is such a chore." he grumbled. "I don't know why they ever want me to speak at these stupid things."

Evangeline titled her head, "You have a problem with that?" she asked. As they got into the car and he complained about the event she replied, "Oh come on...they're not that stupid. And you spoke very well so stop complaining..."

Dante frowned a bit. "Menzies is an asshole. You're better off staying away from him." he stated. He ran a hand through his hair, messing up the gel that had kept it nice. "Of course I did it well. I give these damn speeches all the time." He leaned forward, tapping on the window that separated their section from the driver. The window rolled down. "Take us to the lady's house, driver." he informed.
He leaned back and the window rolled up again after a word of confirmation. It was Friday night; Evangeline didn't have to be in early for work, at least. It was past midnight by now. "Well, you did a decent job. I'll give you that. Everyone seemed pleased. Maybe if Michelle keeps being a bitch I'll start bringing you around to the events instead."

"Oh right," was all Evangeline said. It was was late and Evangeline couldn't wait to get her heels off. She smiled as he complimented her that night but rolled her eyes when he spoke about Michelle.

"If Michelle's such a bitch as you say, how come you're still with her?" she asked looking out the limousine window.

Dante glanced out the other window, shrugging. "Got a nice rack." If she bothered looking at him, though, there was something in his eyes that didn't quite match with the words that left his lips. The reason, while it seemed like it probably fit the billionaire, was a bit...off, compared to the strange look in his eyes. "After tonight, though, I'll probably have messages from ten actresses and models begging to be my girlfriend. Whenever they see me with someone new, they want to take her place. Try to swoop in and steal me away, as it were." He just reported it as if it were fact, something usual.

Evangeline wasn't surprised with his answer. It was what she expected from a billionaire playboy. She nodded when he spoke about the actresses and models. She didn't agree with his way of treating women and then dumping them but tonight was just a show for the press she thought. 

As they pulled up to her apartment driveway, she looked into his eyes and said, "Well even if you didn't enjoy the night - I did so thank you. I'll see you next week"

Dante watched her for a moment, as she spoke to him and got out. "...Mm. See you next week." The door closed behind her, and once she was safely inside her house (he had a little bit of chivalry after all), the limo pulled away.
The next morning, Evangeline found herself the center of attention all over the tabloids and TV. Dante and his 'mystery date' were plastered everywhere. Clips of the interviews, footage from the party. She was quite the hit it seemed!
