"Oh I'm just having some tests done," she lied but nodded to make it sound more convincing, "I don't think it's anything to worry about."

She shook her head, "You don't need to keep the paparazzi busy, if you don't want to. I'll just make sure we go round the back," she explained getting up. She didn't want Dante to go out of his way to distract the media and she didn't want him worrying about her either.

Dante frowned slightly. "I see. If you need time off, be sure to contact me." He gestured slightly for her to leave. "I need to address the buzz, anyways. Just be sure you aren't spotted when you leave." He sighed slightly and turned around in his chair, standing up to look out the window. Hands in the pocket, the man was silent, so obviously the conversation was over.

As Mr Bartolo faced the window, she knew it was her que to leave. Turning around she exited and went back to her office. An hour later, she finished the accounts, closed her computer and headed out. Her bodyguards chauffeured her to the car out the back way. 

As she sat in the car she wondered about a statement she could release.:She was just a girl that Mr Bartolo had hired ro go to the charity event. There was no romance, she had just been lucky to have been chosen. In fact she knew that they didn't have any kind of relationship whatsoever.

After her visit to the doctors, she knew why she was suffering from nausea tiredness. It would mean that she'd have to go on leave for about a year, and worse she'd have to tell Mr Bartolo and then it could potentially get out into the media that it was his child which she knew it certainly wasn't. 

Hoping he wouldn't know, Evangeline went straight to her office and closed the door behind her. At the moment she needed comfort and right now she had none...

Bartolo wasn't stupid, he knew when she returned. He knocked on her door, then opened it and stepped in. "So, what did the doctor say? Are you alright?" He lifted a brow, watching her. Observing, seeing if perhaps she didn't look so good. He was, despite his cruelty, still a bit kind-hearted, and he was worried about her. "Do you need to take the week off and rest? I heard there's been a bug going around." he commented.

Why was Dante so interested in her health right now Evangeline thought as he asked her about her visit, "Well..." Evangeline thought about what to say, "I'm healthy however I might need more than a week off..." she paused, "I'm pregnant," she said, not looking at him. She bit her lip, and finally looked up at him.

Evangeline knew exactly who the father was, it hadn't been a fling, no, but the two had known each other since university and Evangeline knew they loved each other. Unfortunately he had died a few months back, before she worked for Dante. She was however prepared to raise the child on her own.
