Bodrik laughed, "just because you steal a guild badge off someone doesn't make you a member you dumb little..." A dragons roar off in the distance stopped Bodrik from finishing his sentence.

Everyone at the guild knows you stole it, speaking of which you should probably avoid Erig, that half Orc is gonna kill you if he finds you. Issac was the guild master and the person who paid out the rewards. He was a little confused at why Nick would even steal that but youth aren't thinkers as much as do-ers.

"Here we go then..." Nick ran off in the direction of the dragons roar, with a bomb in his left hand. In the other, he had a weak fire spell, ready to light the fuse of the explosive device and any second.

"Stop!" Bodrik knew he would get shit for this but he fired a trick arrow at Nick, and it exploded into a bolo if it hit he would be wrapped up tight! "We're not ready!" Bodrik yelled.

1-10 Miss, 11-19 Hit, 20 Knock You Out!

"Wait I thought we," they hit him in the head and knocked him out before he could finish his sentence. Ten minutes later he was awake."you guys are confusing..." He sat there staring blankly at the snow, preparing himself to muddle together what they said next.

Usually, you Dex+1D20, but I got a natural 20 lol.

Bodrik sighed, "we CAN NOT fight him with just us. We need others, don't just run off again or the next arrow will be a shot to your foot.

"And where do you propose we get this army of dragon slayers?" I thought we didn't have time for a huge recruitment program."

"I didn't say we did have time.... But it's either find time or we die..." Bodrik sighed and cut Nick loose, "we all die... That what this rides on."

"Anyone know any summing magic? We could summon some stuff." Nick looked through his bag,"i don't really have anything that could kill it or stall it long enough." His eyes perked up,"aaaah we could nicely ask it to not kill us..." He scratched his head,"not that one maybe. what if we sent an owl or something? Anyone got any ink?" He rummaged around in Brooke's stuff,"oooo she's got some poison, we could give it a stomach ache with this dosage." He looked at Bodrik and Isiac,"any of those sound good?"

"Our Wizards gone, and get out of Brooke's stuff...." Bodrik snatched the poison and the bag. "You are acting like a child Nick, I knew you weren't ready..."

"Well excuse me for trying to fix the problem Bodrik." Nick looked him in the eye,"I don't hear you guys giving any ideas besides 'we're dead.'" He paced around awhile, and sat down to sharpen his knives.

"It is almost noon, let's head back to Crown and form a plan there.. It'll be a two day walk if we don't get cause in a blizzard."

"What happened to being pressed for time?" Nick thought to himself and helped Bodrik and Issiac pack up their things.

"We are but we also don't want to die Nick, grow up and think about life, living, think about what happens after the dragon... We want to live." Bodrik was saddened by Nick's rash thinking.

Nick went into the forest and grabbed some herbs that could help Brooke if things went bad on the way back. He put them in his bag and walked back to where Bodrik and Isaac were. As they began their walk back to Crown he decided to try practicing on his fire spell, as magic was their best hope if the dragon showed up. He was one of the only ones of the group who had any kind of majorly specialized and magical training, however it was mostly in the area of enchanting. He practiced near Brooke so as to keep her warm.

Bodrik, "your technec is off..." Bodrik was an Arcane Archer and could focus spells into his arrows. He did well against the Dragon but alone without another Wizard he would be doomed. "Focus on the attack before just releasing the spell... You'll do more damage."

Nick practiced this several times, then he had a thought,"Bodrik, could you teach me that spell you do for your arrows?" He pulled out a throwing knife. Nick had tried storing attack magic in weapons before, but that ended badly. It resulted in the loss of several pieces of lab equipment that took months to replace.

"It is a difficult process but sure," he grabbed a dead branch from a tree and broke it off. "This is wood," he said holding up the stick, "would burns easily... Try to channel a fire spell into wood without lighting it on fire or exploding the stick." This technec took Bodrik week to master, he had been into archery since he was a wee Dwarven lad, but magic was somewhat recent, only about two years now could he cast spells. "Good luck," there was actually no way Nick could learn an art like this in time to kill the dragon but it was a nice bonding experience for them to learn this together.

Nick's practice in the arcane arts already helped a bit, he could get it to smoke a bit but that was it. "I want to see if I could put this in my glove, and just use it for a quick cast without much of the usual concentration." This was something that he had been trying to perfect from the beginning of his career as an alchemist.

Nick took out some of the herbs that he had gathered earlier and ground them up into a paste. He then applied it to Brooke's wounds, though her conditions weren't getting much better.

"We'll be back in another day or two," Bodrik said as the sun started to vanish on the horizon, if your up for it will you take first watch?"
