The "Just Talkin'" topic in this forum is set up for simply chatting.

Thats what i plan on doing. He made a pretty standard dad joke though like you know "Dad I am hurt" "Hi hurt im dad"

I was responding to the original post, which is basically a duplicate of the chat, not any of the follow up.

Then whats the point of making threads on the smalltalk forum?

The answer to that is simple! Say if you found something interesting that others might, then you can make a thread dedicated to that, so others can see too! Maybe you're looking for, say, other players of a game you like! Maybe you're working on a book or something similar, and maybe wanted ideas or another look on things! Or maybe something really special happened to you, like getting married or having a child, things like that is what the Smalltalk forum is for!

Talking about specific topics. Which means you must pre-select what you want to discuss to create a new topic here. SINDragon posted a whole lot of examples of specific topics one might initiate.

If you don't know what you want to talk about at all, and are simply bored and want someone else to pick a topic, then go to the chat and talk about any ol' random thing.
