***NEXT DAY***

Efrix lay asleep against the cold wall of the garage and slept soundlessly.

Emily stayed close to Efrix, gripping on to her as she mumbled in her sleep. She was actually still in her arms, and she refused to move.

Soon, she awoke as the morning sun shone through the windows. She turned her head to Emily laying in her lap then remembered the events of yesterday and sighed, looking at the girl curiously, observing her. She gently shook the girl awake, deciding it was time to wake up.
"Emily? Emily, we need to go find your baby brother." Efrix said softly.

Emily yawned, huffing as she slowly sat up. Emily quickly remembered everything the shivered, but smiled at the mention of finding her brother. The brunette sighed as she stretched.

Efrix stood from the ground then cracked her back, stretching and obviously aching from the uncomfortable position she'd slept in. Thankfully, Emily had been cushioned by her. She cared more for the child's comfortableness than her own and smiled at that thought. She hardly enjoyed the company of actual people. She found them annoying or deceitful liars. She moved out of the garage then turned her head towards Emily.
"Where did you leave your baby brother? Is he around here somewhere?"

"Mmmm, he should be...I think at home. But I'm not sure, I haven't been home in a long while." she whimpered lightly. "Besides, I can't see exactly, so I can guide you there." she frowned, 'looking' at the ground as she stood, thinking to herself. "I do remember a few things though...like what my house looked like, and my street name." she shivered. "I don't want him there, there's a bad man in my home."

Nodding, Efrix knew that they should call the cops, but she doubted the girl wanted cops involved. And frankly, she didn't think her foster-parents wanted her involved with the cops either. Efrix took Emily's hand then motioned her to show the way.
"Do you mind if I ask a question?" She said.

She shook her head in response. "I don't mind"

"Who hurt you like that?" She motioned towards the scars and wounds.

"The bad man did." she said, as if she's said it thousands of times before. "He pinned me down, and then I couldn't see. And then I couldn't feel anything." she explained. She looked at the ground, a frown on her face.

Obviously, she listened whilst the expression of horror showed on her face. She shook her head, trying to shake off the all too obvious fear and pity.
"Why would he do that? What did you do to him?"

"I never knew him. He appeared in my room one day, that's all."

"Weird." She said, squeezing the girl's hand a little.
"By the way, you can call me Effie." Efrix said, obviously trying to lighten the mood and cheer the girl up. She honestly liked being called 'Effie', it made her feel special. She walked casually with Emily and sang within her head silently.

"Hmm..." she thought, "uh, the street name was...C-Carly Lane..." she ran her fingers through her short hair.

"Okay." They made their way to Carly Lane with ease and looked at the houses. She looked confused, she obviously didn't know where to look.
"So, recognize any of the houses?"

"It's the only colorful one"

She nodded then found the colorful house amongst the bland ones then led Emily to it nervously and opened the front door slowly.

Emily recognized the senses the house gave her, and made her way to the stairs. She cautiously walked up the wooden planks and yellow tape saying not to enter came to view. She turned and ran into a brightly colored room.

She looked around nervously and shook with fear. "Where was your brother last in the house?"
