The large wintry Isle of Altharon has been bustling with trader activity as of late, but that has came to an abrupt stop. Recent news and claims from travelers say that a powerful Lich has took over a trade city to the far north, and is striking down ships and vessels who draw near and using their inhabitants as alchemy and dark magic ingredients.
A wealthy coast village to the far south has plastered contracts all over the region, claiming that they will pay a large sum of coin to get rid of The Lich, but first, you must meet the people in person who want the Lich dead. ...Upon your arrival, you see the town destroyed, all the houses and buildings in ruins, with a few corpses and skeletons here and there lying on the ground... including what used to be the manor that was owned by the people who wanted the Lich killed.
The Story Begins

Time Period : Renaissance, BUT, primitive guns are starting to show use, though they aren't common. Airships and steam powered machines and constructs are commonly used though, horses are still a widely used transportation method.
Altharon : A large wintry isle, the south of it mostly consisting of cool temperatures with elderberry, pine, and spruce trees all over, with lush green grass and small fields and meadows here and there, while the north is mostly cold and freezing in temperatures, with snow, ice, and evergreens being a common theme.
Monsters : They range from normal animals such as Elk, deer, rabbits, wolves, foxes, ect, and all they way up to occaisional golems, wyrms, dragons, giant serpents, wargs, wights, and other such things.
Theme : High in Fantasy, with magic users, alchemists, and rune smiths being fairly common, with knights, mercenaries, thieves, and townfolk with swords, hammers, bows, and clubs filling up a large part of the majority. As well as Elves, Dwarves, Mer, Elementals, and many more races are all viable in this setting.

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
