This is a roleplay based off of the game "Undertale". Don't know what Undertale is? Check out http://undertale.com/ at least try out the demo. For now I will tell you about it, DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED. Undertale is basically Earthbound/Mother ,an indie crowdfunded RPG in the style of old NES RPGs. It's about a child who falls into the underground domain of the monsters, who are kept down there by a magical barrier created by the humans after a war between the two species.
The biggest twist is that you don't have to kill anything in battle; you're capable of resolving all fights peacefully (you could also kill everything, which dramatically changes the story). The battle system mainly involves you manually dodging the enemy's attacks, represented my moving a small heart around a box to avoid projectiles, a la a "bullet hell" style shooter like Touhou or Ikaruga.
The characters and story are a huge draw, because unlike in other RPGs, there are no enemies that exist solely to be defeated, since each can be spared. This allows every fight to be fully contextualized, since their stories continue on afterwards. There is the sweet and motherly Toriel, a goat-like monster who literally takes you by the hand through the earliest part of the game. There's Papyrus, the loudmouthed and largely oblivious skeleton who is a source of much of the game's humor, and Sans, his laid-back and mysterious brother. There's also also Alphys, a neurotic and shy otaku scientist who tries to hide her true nature.
It has plenty of secrets and humor, with bad puns and meta jokes about RPGs. But people genuinely seem to care about and be invested in the story, due to the unique ways in which it can play out.
In this roleplay you may pick from any charecter in the game, we accept alternate universes (aus) and ocs.

Mundane? What's that? Magic permeates every part of the setting. Almost everyone has access to strong magic.

Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
