There are some image hosting sites -- like this one -- that can randomise images that are plugged into a certain url. I used it a lot on sites that used image url input for avatars because I couldn't decide on certain avatars in the past. C: I don't know what their image restriction limit is (I haven't logged into my account in years, and have since forgotten that information), but I'm just posting that utilising a site like this is a great alternative to image urls than coding it in manually.
On the coding side of things, however... you have the reassurance that the coding works when the site works, and does not have unexpected downtime, killing the link URL at a random moment.

Showing a randomized image is really really easy, coding wise. We do randomized stuff allll over the site.
For example, the changing colors of the fists during epic week fights!

No but consider that this would have to be done for 24 different time zones, while also taking into account for daylight savings time for some areas and non-standardized time for others. It could get complicated pretty fast.
Know this: I wasn't Exactly meaning that they Had to be 'night' and 'day' ones. Just giving an example on trying to state that they'd switch
