i just dealt 5 damage and the spider shrugged off 7??

Yeah, blue monsters resist damage from anything but ray gun/grenade. Blue spiders shrug off a lot.

I tried putting the combat setting all the way up in Find an RP which lead me to The Slashed Guardian.

Use the Give Items option

Then select the user/character/group. Next step you select the item. Final step fill out a message/send.
