Arien shook his head briefly. "Not perfect," he replied, "but I'm willing to change--for you." He paused, as though surprised by his own words, but the conviction behind them had been true.

He shivered when her thumb brushed against his cheek, and he leaned into it. If Red had been pressed more firmly against him, she would have felt his own racing heart. And gazing up into her eyes, he felt like he was gazing into a rich summer forest, lush and green.

"You're too perfect for me, Red. I don't deserve you." And he sighed almost longingly.

"No Arien. I couldnt and wouldnt ask for a man more perfect than you. I love you for you," Red whispered.
She leaned down and kissed Arien intensly. All her feelings of love, happiness, lust, and passion were put into that one kiss.

Red wouldnt and couldnt pull away from Arien. Though thunder over head made her body jump with surprise. Smiling with a little embarrassment about being caught off guard, she traced a light line up Arien's neck.

After her kiss, he opened his mouth to reply that she didn't really know him, when he felt her jump from the thunder.

"Just a little rainstorm," he murmured, and then gasped at her touch before catching her hand with his. He pressed a passionate kiss to the palm of her hand.

In the distance, a flicker of lightning may or may not have been noticed. Though Bella, who had been stretched out by the fire, curled up more tightly into a ball, nose tucked under tail.

Red blushed and bit her lip softly then smiled.
"Yes im aware it's a rainstorm," she murmured then kissed Arien's cheek.
Red laid back down and put her head on his chest. Arm draped over Arien's stomach, she lightly slid her fingertip back and forth, slowly on Arien's side. Finally she closed her eyes but didnt fall asleep.

Neo and Nex sat up then walked over to Patch and Bella. They layed down next to them and huddled close.

Arien settled when Red did, but twitched slightly when she rubbed her finger against his side. He shifted to wrap an arm around Red, holding her close to him, before gently drawing his finger from the base of her neck to her lower back, and then back up again in a slight oval shape, never quite re-tracing the same path.

He heard the thunder rumble overhead, but it was times like these that he almost welcomed storms.They would be warm and dry and comfortable should the skies open up and pour down rain.

Red shivered as Arien ran his finger down her neck and around her back. Sleep wouldnt come to her and she fidgeted a little. Nights like this were usually aggrivating to her but she had Arien and that made it better.
"Arien..what did you mean by you would change for me? What do you want to change?" Red murmured.

Arien paused, his hand lingering on Red's lower back. He was thankful for the darkness that obscured his suddenly red face.

"I, uh, just meant that I would be one hundred percent devoted to you." He began, and then wanted to slap himself. Like he wouldn't be otherwise? He should just come out and tell her, but it was hard. He liked her and what if she was turned away by the thought that he'd ... well, she probably did have a right to know.

No doubt they would be heading through certain towns where his reputation was already known. He sighed and ran his hand through Red's hair. It calmed him down to do so. "I, er, used to be a really big flirt. But since I met you, I feel embarrassed by it now. And I promise not to flirt with other girls. That is, if you want to be serious with me." A pause. "I'm already serious about you."

Red was silent for a while, tracing light circles on Arien's stomach.
"Of course im serious about being with you. And i trust you," Red said as she sat up.
Smiling she leaned close to Arien to a point where their lips were brushing. Then with a giggle she pulled away, teasing Arien for fun.

"Good," he replied, happy that this should be the case. "But maybe you trust me too much?"

He growled under his breath when Red teased him with an almost kiss. He'd been about to make good on it too, when she pulled away. He poked her gently in the side. "You're driving me nuts, you know."

Red smiled and giggled again when he poked her in the side.
"Yes i know, thats the fun part," Red said sticking out her tongue like a little kid.
What does he mean by trusting him too much?.. she thought but pushed it to the back of her mind. She would ask him later about it.
Red had heard him growl and smirked. Leaning down she lightly kissed him then pulled away and laid back. Teasing Arien was fun to her and it was cute when he got frustrated.

Arien rolled his eyes when Red stuck her tongue out at him. "Real mature, Red," he muttered. He waited for her to settle before he rolled so that he was over her. He grinned down at her. "I don't mind being teased, but it's more fun if I can join in." He leaned down and kissed her neck before pulling away.

Red blushed really red when Arien got over her. When he kissed her neck she bit her lip. After Arien pulled away, Red scowled and dissapointment settled in.

"I dont mind being immature every now and then," Red informed still scowling at Arien's teasing.

It made him laugh. Maybe they were similar after all. "Me either," he replied. "But there's a nice quality to being mature as well," he added with a purr.

And he kissed her again on the neck, lingering for a moment, trying to gauge her reaction.

Red stifled a small gasp and bit her lip. Shivering slightly, she blushed again and slightly gripped the blanket close to her.

He grinned and pulled back again. "Still trust me?" he asked softly.

Red smiled a little. "Yes," she whispered.
Red serached his eyes for some hint of what he would do next or if he would do anything next, but couldnt find any. She wasnt too terribly good at predicting things either.

Arien smiled and drew closer. "I love you, Red."

For the first time in his life, he had found someone worth growing up for. A woman he would die for. A woman whom he wouldn't mind--and in fact looked forward to--sharing the rest of his life with.

So when morning dawned and he awoke with his arms around the love of his life, he smiled and felt peaceful.

"I love you too, Arien," Red whispered as her drew closer.

Red had waited for a man like Arien for a while and she thought she would never find him. But she did at last. She had found a man she could spend the rest of her life with. A man that she would want beside her through everything. Red was finally happy and nothing could take it away from her.

Red was still asleep when dawn came around. Nex woke up and shook the rain from his pelt. All the animals were soaked last night when the rain poured down. Walking over to the tent he stuck his head in to check on Arien and Red then quickly shut his eyes and hissed with surprise. He backed away in a flash and his eyes were wide with shock.

Bella awoke when Nex hissed, and she rose to shake her own coat dry. She sneezed for good measure, and then pricked her ears up at him, curious for his reaction when she sensed nothing.

Arien on the contrary, threw something after the tiger--a wadded up sock. "And stay out," he muttered to himself. Gently, he ran his hands through Red's auburn hair. "Hey, sweetheart, you awake yet? We need to be hitting the road soon."

Red awoke to Arien running his fingers through her hair and she snuggled closer. Blinking her eyes open she looked up at Arien.
"Well im awake now.." she whispered with a smile.

Nex turned and shook his head trying to clear that image from his mind.
Whatever you do, do not go in there Bella. Nex warned as he walked away.
Heading to go catch some food, he nudged Neo as he walked past.
