Arien spun at the all-too-familiar voice of Ash; his face wrinkling up in dismay and disgust. "Ash--you said you'd leave us alone if we left you alone. Why pester us here and now? What more do you want?"

But Ash went too far when she punched Red.
Arien teleported between them, arms stretched out to ward off any more blows Ash might throw. "You came at a bad time, Ash."

Darien watched from where he was on the ground and slipped a hand into a pocket. He didn't look very happy, as he flicked flint and steel together, creating a spark just begin enough to control.

Zane was already drawing water from the surroundings, his hands filling with water, ready to lob them at the new threat. "Didn't your mother ever teach you to treat invalids with care?"

Ralen sent a tree branch double the size of the one he'd used against Arien for Ash--intending to smack her with it.

"I didnt have parents," Ash said without care.
Grabbing Arien's throat with one hand and catching the branch with the other, she smirked. Throwing the branch back at Ralen, double the speed. Squeezing the choked Arien, Red ducked down kicked Ash's feet out from under her.
Ash let go of Arien as she fell to the ground. Red swerved around Arien and drew a dagger, pinning Ash and holding it to her throat. Ash just smirked, then hit Red's hand away and stealing the dagger from her.
Suddenly both Ash and Red were gone. They appeared in the middle of the clearing, Ash holding the dagger to Red's heart.
"Move and I send this through her heart," Ash threatened, looking around.

For a moment no one moved, except for Ralen to duck below the stick aiming for his chest. It landed harmlessly several yards behind him.

Zane muttered an "oh" before realizing, "hey wait; everyone has to have parents! Someone had to have raised you at least," he muttered under his breath.

Darien, who hadn't moved at all, grinned from where he lay. A spark, nearly impossible to see, had landed on the dagger that Ash held, and it heated up rapidly to a scalding temperature. "I just want it to be said, that I didn't move."

At the same time, Ralen attempted to telekinetically rip the dagger from Ash's hand--or at the very least, to pull in the opposite direction of Red's heart.

"You take on one of us," said Ralen, "you take on all of us. You best let go of that dagger before you become permanently attached to it."

Ash smiled evilly and laughed letting go of the dagger then taking out one of her own and stabbing Red right in the heart.

Red opened her mouth but no sound came out.

Ash let her fall to the ground.
"Yes your right," pointing to Red, "she raised me." Ash finished.

Ralen reversed the course of the dagger the moment Ash released it, and when Red dropped to the ground, he didn't hesitate to bury it in Ash's chest.

Likewise, another spark found its way to Ash's clothing, beginning a decent flame though Darien still hadn't exactly moved from his spot on the ground.

Arien had already teleported to Red's side, his hand over the wound, not daring to move the dagger. "Oh god oh god oh god," he said, "hang in there, Red, please hang in there."

Zane just stood there, frozen in fear and horror; his attention no longer on the tigers.

Nex and Neo were frozen to their spot.

Ash looked at her chest and shrugged as she jerked out the dagger and threw it to the ground.
"My, my. Looks like i do need to be going," Ash said then disappeared.

Red mouthed something, but no sound came out. She looked up at Arien as the light in her eyes began to fade.

Arien's surroundings faded to black as he had eyes only for Red. And even then, her form blurred as tears formed and spilled down his face as he hugged her close.

"Red..." he croaked, a sob lodging in his throat. "Y-you can't...die."

Beside him, Bella lay down, ears flat and she mourned for both of them by lifting her muzzle to the sky and howling.

Darien, Ralen, and Zane were silent, heads bowed.

A minute after she stopped breathing, she gasped in breath and started coughing. Her wound was healed and she was breathing again.
"Arien..i-im fine.."croaked Red.

Nex and Neo ran over and stood on edge watching Red and wondering how she was still alive.

Arien gasped and pulled back long enough to wipe his face on a sleeve and looked down at Red. "R-Red?"

He propped her up hesitantly, trying to alleviate the coughing, before glancing at her chest for the fatal blow. "I-I thought..."

"M-my power..sa-saves my life once.." she whispered.
Her coughing died away and she put her head against Arien's chest. Breathing was hard for the first few minutes but it became gradually easier on her.

"Ash..where..?" was all Red could get out.

"She got away, unfortunately," said Darien, who had managed to climb to his feet at last. He paused to bend down to pick up something off the ground, but Ralen snatched it with his telekinesis first.

"A piece of charred cloth, it looks like," Ralen said, holding it up.

Darien rolled his eyes. "I guess it managed to be singed when I tried to light her on fire. Sorry we couldn't actually kill her."

Ralen grinned. "Speak for yourself, I managed to sink a dagger into her chest. Without moving," he added as though that was important.

Arien fumbled for a canteen he didn't have on him when Zane stepped up and offered the water bubble again. Arien looked up at him and softened a little. "Thanks." He took the water bubble and offered it to Red. "Here, drink this. I seem to have left my canteen back at camp."

Red took the water bubnle gratefully and drank it quickly. Her whole body felt like lead and it would be a while till she could gain control of everything again. It was difficult coming back to life.

Red looked up at Arien, her eyes softening.
"Were you crying, Arien?" she whispered, a small teasing smile playing on her lips.

Arien hastily held his hand out for another water bubble but Zane just grinned and held up his empty hands.

"No!" Said Arien defensively. "This is just...sweat. I had to fight three brothers and-" And Ash; but he couldn't say it. Because his brothers had been right. He hadn't been able to save Red. He couldn't protect her.

"He was sobbing like a baby," supplied Zane helpfully--earning a smack from Arien.

"He howled," agreed Darien.

"That was the wolf, you idiot," Ralen clarified. "Although it was hard to tell the difference. Frankly, you gave us all a scare there. What kind of power do you have? Immortality?"

Red ignored Arien's brothers and smiled.
"Its ok Arien. It wasnt your fault," Red tried to reassure him.

It had been Ash's fault for showing up. Really though it had been Red's fault for trieing to pin Ash down.

Arien nodded, though he didn't truly believe the statement. "How do you feel? You wanna stay lying down for a bit, or...?" he shrugged, helpless. Under his breath he grumbled that not one of his brothers had a useful gift like healing.

Darien seemed to be recovering, even as Ralen began to draw some sticks together in preparation for a fire. "Darien? Wanna lend a spark?"

Darien flicked a finger at the twigs and lit it. "That gonna work?"

"Well enough," muttered Ralen, carefully lifting the small fire to place it near Arien and Red. Zane stood ready to douse it out if it should drop and catch fire to anything it shouldn't. "There, you two stay warm...we'll, ah...go make ourselves useful and try to find something to eat."

They vanished into the wood, leaving Arien and Red alone for the moment. Arien looked at Red and offered a small smile. "I'm so glad you're alright."

"I promised you i wouldnt leave you. Remember?" Red whispered and smiled.
Finally Red could feel her body lightening up and she could control it again. Lifting her hand, she brushed it softly against Arien's cheek.

Neo and Nex walked off into the woods, Nex nudged Bella so that Arien and Red could have some time alone.

Not even seeing Bella wander off with the tigers, Arien pressed Red's hand more firmly against his cheek and then kissed the back of it. "I was wrong to doubt you," he said softly, his lips barely brushing the back of her hand.

The three brothers had headed back to the campsite. "I thought we were going to find food," Zane muttered.

"We are; don't you remember that deer? We're bringing it back." Relan said.

"Can't you do that yourself?" Darien pointed out.

Relan sighed. "I can only move what I can carry--and I can't carry a deer. Gutted or not. So look, are you gonna help me or not?"

Darien scowled. "Let's roast it first, at least. We'll just bring what we need when we're done."

Red closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them and smiling at Arien.
"I love you," she murmured, then pulled Arien down and kissed him gently.

Even though it had only been a few minutes, Red had missed Arien so much when she was dead.

Arien lay down next to her. "I love you too, Red." He gently kissed her, relaxing when he felt her warm lips against his.

He pulled back briefly. "I'm sorry my brothers interfered. They'll probably be back soon; they always pick the worst time to show up."

"Yo, Arien!" Zane called as he emerged from the trees. "Relan asked me to ask you if you can teleport the deer over here. It's too heavy for him to carry telekinetically and we don't wanna drag it--we roasted it and everything. All you'd have to do is eat it." He stopped and looked at Red, then Arien. "Oh, sorry, did I interrupt something?"

Arien sighed.

Red smiled and laughed softly. "Your right. They do turn up at the worst times. But dont worry about teleporting it. I'll have Neo bring it back," Red whispered then kissed Arien's cheek.

Red began to stand up but fell back, her legs still not there quite yet.
"Well forget me finding him.. My legs havent quite caught up to the whole alive thing yet," Red mumbled with an embarrased smile.
Neo go back to the old campsite and bring the deer back. Red thought to Neo.
