Arien glanced at Red and saw that she was lost in thought. He turned back to his father. "Alright, fine. You win. Whatever will get rid of Ash, I'll do what you want." Those were the hardest words he'd ever had to say. But so long as he had Red beside him, he could overcome anything. Well, almost anything.

Daren looked intently at Arien and then at Red. "You're serious? You know what I want, Arien. I want you to join me and your brothers; to grow our enterprise." Arien nodded, feeling his stomach churn. He'd always known the risk.

"If it'll help Red, if it'll help us overcome Ash, I'll do it," he said.

Daren looked at Red and snapped his fingers to catch her attention. "And do you agree to this, Red?"

"No." Red said instantly. She didnt want that for Arien and she knew he didnt want it.
"You can have whatever you want, but that. I dont care what you think of us. Arien isnt some toy," she added, before looking Arien's father in the eyes. Completely serious now that it came down to it.

Nex watched Red with a slight intrest in her reaction. He had never seen her like this and it was new to him.

Daren studied Red intently. "Then I want the exact opposite of what I asked for. I want neither Arien nor you to get involved in whatever I determine to do with my business after this little...incident. Do I make myself clear?"

Arien started, suspicion creeping across his face. "What are you going to do? Will my brothers be okay?"

Daren smiled but kept his eyes on Red. "That's no longer your concern. Do we have a deal, now?"

Red narrowed her eyes and mulled it over in her head, before coming to a conclusion.
"As long as it never involves us, we will stay out of it." Red added.

Nex rested his tail on Bella's back and sat up. Neo flicked his ear toward a near-by bush then walked over and brought out patch.

Daren nodded. "That works for me. Now, you had questions about this girl called Ash. I don't know much in terms of specifics, but I can probably find something if I search hard enough."

Arien sighed in relief. "Thank goodness. Is there anyway we can get rid of her? Or keep her from killing us?"

Red yelped as Neo leaped on her and bowled her to the ground. A second later, a flaming arrow shot past her head. Ash laughed from a nearby tree. "There is nothing you can dig up about me that could be used against me." she said.

Ash had two weaknesses but they were from a long time ago. The first one was a small crack in the shield around her heart. She literally had a shield inside her chest around her heart, but after Arien's brother had stabbed her. The second was if someone else killed Red before her. In her mind it was set that she had to be the one to kill Red. Red had originally been the one to pass down magic to Ash and if Red died so would the magic.

Daren swiveled at once to locate Ash, though he paid no heed to the flaming arrow. "Ah, so you decided to appear at last. And don't ever tempt a chronomancer with such a dare."

He brought his hands up and concentrated, before a smile lit up his face. He opened his eyes and looked right at Ash. "You have an interesting secret, there; regarding your friend, Red." He crossed his arms in front of him. "Shall I tell her the origination of your ability? Or would you like the chance?"

For a second, alarm flashed in Ash's eyes and a second later she was in front of Darren. "Kepp your trap shut old man," she growled.

Neo hopped off of Red and she sat up coughing, trying to catch her breathe

Arien was beside Red almost instantly, but he turned to face Ash. "What is my dad even talking about?" he murmured.

Daren smirked and lowered his crossed arms. "Or what? All I have to do is this."

He pointed at her--freezing her in time for a moment--and stepped to the side before lowering his hand again and unfreezing her. It might seem like teleportation to her, but it wasn't true teleporting.

"I can keep you frozen in time for about thirty minutes, before I start hallucinating. But I'm sure that's plenty long enough to tell your little secret to Red. Who, I'm sure, might have some ideas as well to the origin of your power."

Ash glared at him and put her hand on her sword's hilt. "I said leave it be," she repeated.

Red looked at the ground and closed her eyes. She already knew why Ash had her powers and who gave them to her. But she didnt know how to rid Ash of them.

Daren shrugged. "Look, this really is no concern of mine except that I don't really want my son and his girlfriend interfering in my life. But neither do I want them dead. So look, I'll give you a proposition: Leave 'em alone or else." He eyed her sword. "And that really isn't going to work against me...I hope you know that." He was ready to freeze her again if she should draw her sword

But Arien saw his opportunity here and now. With Ash distracted by his father, he unsheathed his sword and teleported behind her. "I'd listen to him," Arien growled. "He's not exactly the type you want to make angry."

Ash looked around then started laughing. "All of you are ridiculous. Darren, i can destroy your buisness and family. Arien, i cantake the most precious thing from you. Red do you really want them to suffer like this?" Ash was grinning and looked over at Red.

Red snapped her head up, her eyes like chips of ice. "Leave them out of this Ash," she growled, standing up. Looking at Darren then Arien and finally Ash, she chose her path quickly. "Darren her weaknesses are what?" she demanded.

Ash had a startled look come across her face.

Daren didn't even hesitate to answer. "Given that you gave her these powers, you can take them away again. It probably takes more than physical touch, since it seems Ash doesn't like to get very close to you--but that could just be her reluctance in actually wanting to kill you. After all, if she kills the source of her power...she'll lose it too." And if he'd just blown both of Ash's secrets, well, she'd had her chance to talk.

Arien kept his sword ready. "Th-that's what this is about?"

Ash glared daggers at Darren then smirked when Arien stuttered. "Oh yes. Except if I kill her, i get all of her powers including mine. But if someone else kills her, i loose everything," Ash explained icily.

Red slightly winced at the thought of being killed by anyone. But no matter what, she didnt want Ash becoming stronger.
"Arien.."she murmured and looked at him apologetically.

Arien didn't understand what her look was supposed to mean, so of course he misinterpreted it. "Don't do anything stupid, Red! I don't care if this is some botched magical gift swap, but I like you too much to let you do anything stupid."

Daren rolled his eyes. "You two are a pair. You left out a key component of the puzzle, though, Ash. What happens when you are killed--either by Red or someone else? Do they get your power? Or does it all return to Red? Think carefully on how you answer."

"It is all wasted! It returns to Red's lifeless body, because i will take her down with me!" Ash hissed, fire blazing in her eyes.

Red looked at Arien, sorrow clouding her eyes. Turning to Neo, she bent down before him. "Boy i need you to do this for me.." she whispered and softly pet his head.
Im ending this now. Red thought to Neo.

"What are you planning?" Daren asked, casting a quick glance at Red. He had brought his hands up, ready to interfere should he need to. If anyone was going to die...it wasn't because he didn't try to stop it. In fact, starting now, he was manipulating time--ready to rewind it if need be.

Arien tensed. "Don't...don't do this, Red! I love you--but don't do this..."

Red closed her eyes and turned her head away. "Arien..please.." she whispered, her voice cracking. Several tears fell and she told Neo to do it now. Neo hesitated before lunging forward and biting her throat.

Ash growled and ran forwards. "She's mine!!" she hissed and kicked the tiger away. Neo skidded several feet and blood stained the grass around Red.
Ash drew her sword and brought it down, but before it made contact with Red's heart. Red opened her eyes and kicked Ash's feet out from under her. Drawing her dagger, she slammed it into Ash's chest. Ash let out a startled cry then all went silent.

Red staggered up and held her side, she looked up at Arien.

"No! Red!" Arien lunged to Red's side, fearing for the worst. "Please, please let it be just a flesh wound..." He checked her side, pulling her hand away briefly.

Daren watched, waiting in the hopes he might not have to interfere.

Red's clothes were seared and burn mark was apparhent on her skin. "Arien..im fine just got burned a little. Ash uses fire alot and that was her defense this time," Red explained and sat down, tired.

Ash wasnt dead, Red had just barely missed the crack in her shield. This time she was going for something more precious of Red's. Reaching out, Ash pulled Red to the ground and leapt over her. Diving into Arien, dagger drawn and ready to pierce through him.

Red cried out in surprise as Ash jerked her down. Scrambling quickly up, she reached for Ash but missed her by a centimeter as she bowled into Arien.
