In the excitement of the moment, Arien never felt the dagger pierce his flesh. Instead, he grabbed hold of Ash and drove her to the ground, where he could grab his boot dagger.

"You just made a horrible mistake, Ash. Love is stronger than friendship." He raised his arm, ready to deliver the final blow with a dagger.

Red ran forward and grabbed Arien's wrist. "Arien..i have to do this," Red whispered in his ear and gently took the dagger from his hand.

Leaning down, she whispered something to Ash and while Ash was distracted she plunged Arien's dagger right into the crack of Ash's shield. Ash gasped and gripped Red's arm as she died. One last time, Ash used a small spark and it lit Red's sleeve on fire.

Red watched as she died and hadnt really noticed the flames licking at her skin until they actually started to burn her. Ripping off the sleeve, she threw it to the ground.
Goodbye.. Red thought to Ash and turned away.

"Sure thing." Arien readily let Red take over. And he moved aside to give her some room. He watched her, quietly, trying to take in what had happened.

"Will you be okay?" he asked softly, just before his breath hitched. A suddenly sharp pain attacked his side with such intensity that he found it almost at once.

Just above his left hip, he found the place where a red stain blossomed. Ash hadn't left him unscathed after all.

"Arien!" Red said in surprise and was at his side in a second. She gently sat him down and quickly told Nex to grab her pack.
"Take off your shirt," she ordered and Nex returned a second later with her pack.
Digging in her pack, she found several herbs and a wrap. Using magic, she melted the herbs into a poulituce. Taking out her needle and thread, she looked apologetically at Arien.
"We have to sew it up," she informed.
Gently, she layed Arien back and cleaned off the wound with some water before putting the needle over a small flame in the middle of her hand. When the needle was hot enough, she smiled at Arien before sticking in the needle and sewing up the wound. Afterwards, she put on the poulituce. Finally she wrapped him up and sighed when she was finished.

He winced and bit his lip as Red stitched him up; it was painful to say the least, but he was grateful for it.

When she was done and his wound was bound, he reached up to caress her face. "Red? I'm sorry." His voice was pained but not because of the stitches. "If I had the ability, I would have wished all this to go away."

A twig snapped as boots came toward them, and Daren snorted. "What would be the sense in wishing every bad thing away? Everyone has problems, and everyone learns to deal with them. Try not to die prematurely, Arien. And Red...maybe I didn't see far enough to give you credit. My wife has the foresight--not I." He ducked his head in an apology and then turned to leave. "Remember your promises."

Red closed her eyes when he put his hand to her face. Then opened them and kissed his forehead. "Its fine. Its over now," she murmured and smiled a little.
When Daren came over, she nodded to him and looked back at Arien.
"We will," she assured Daren and watched him leave.

Arien smiled up at Red. "I thought for sure you'd almost lost it; when Neo lunged for you like that..."

Sudden crashing through the underbrush brought Bella onto the scene again. She whined and licked Arien's face when she saw him. Arien grunted.

"Enough, Bella, lie down." The wolf, however, ignored him and went over to snuffle Red and give her a lick too, before flopping down beside her.

Red averted her eyes and looked at the ground. She wasnt going to tell Arien that it hadnt been part of the plan for Neo not to kill her. In fact, Neo had backed out at the last second and refused to. She didnt want to tell Arien that she had been wanting Neo to kill her so he wouldn't have to suffer anymore.

Nex walked over to Bella and licke her ear. While Neo went and washed himself in the stream a few miles away.

He turned back to Red. "Hey, it's gonna be alright. We'll figure things out. And now you don't have to worry about Ash." He reached for her hand, giving it a squeeze. "I'm not going to abandon you, Red. Neither are Nex and Neo. We love you too much to let you leave so easily."

Bella flicked her ear at Nex's sudden lick and then rolled over onto her side to look up at him.

Red grinned and tackle hugged Arien, forgetting the wound she had just fixed. She kissed him hard and deep.

Nex purred and layed down next to her. He groomed her fur gently and purred the whole time.

Arien gasped in pain and then pleasure as Red's kiss followed her sudden tackle. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, though he realized that twisting in his state would only cause more pain.

"You've got the advantage here," he gasped when they parted for air.

Bella couldn't purr, but the growl that escaped her was a happy one as she leaned into Nex's grooming.

Red pulled away a little after the kiss broke. "Im so sorry! I forgot," she gasped and looked at the wound to make sure it wasnt bleeding again. Then a blush spread across her cheeks as she realized Arien didnt have a shirt on.

Nex finished grooming her and put his head against her body.

"Forget about it," Arien said, meaning his wound. "Just don't make me twist and I'll be okay." He playfully tugged at Red's shirt, grinning at her blush. "What? Not scared of a few scars, are you? We can't all be pretty."

Bella began to return the favor of a grooming on Nex, though she was in the disadvantage of being smaller.

Red scowled and looked away. "Yes well we just spent a whole day being very intimate and your gonna tease me about a few scars? Well maybe i just wont let you sleep with me tonight," Red replied.
She didnt mean it but she made it sound like she did.

Nex purred and nudged her playfully.

Arien grinned. "I'd've thought you'd've gotten over blushing since this morning. But...I guess not." He scowled at her comment though. "What? You're going to leave me outside? Like this? Injured? What if I catch a cold? What if I get pneumonia?"

Bella licked at Nex and then placed her paw on him, trying to quiet him as she continued her grooming.

Red kissed Arien deeply and passionately. Right in the middle of his rant too, mainly to stop his rant and reassure him that she would never do that.

Nex tried hard to surpress his purring but he couldnt and it gradually got louder.

Arien's rant ended in mid-speech when he was distracted by the kiss. He leaned forward, trying to deepen it, but grimaced as his stitches pulled. Fine, he'd have to let Red initiate. Still he ran his hands along her sides, gently, remembering the burn mark.

Bella growled in response, but her ears were pricked happily forward, as she continued to clean around Nex's furry ears. Her tail wagged happily, before she finally finished and flopped down half onto him with a sigh.

Red deepened the kiss and leaned forward closer to Arien. After a couple of minutes, she got up slowly and helped Arien up as well.

Nex looked at Bella and contentedly sighed. Putting his head down, he fell asleep feeling her warmth.

Arien welcomed the help. "Where did you learn to heal?" he asked, feeling his side gingerly.

Bella fell asleep as well, her small snores replacing Nex's earlier purring.

Red smiled and took his hand then interlocked their fingers. "My mom taught me," she replied and led him over to the tent.
