Red looked back to where they had been waiting for Arien. She saw him stumble.
"Nex go!" Red ordered quickly.
Nex disappeared and reappeared next to Arien. Runnin over to them, Red looked at Arien, concerned about him.
"Arien?" she said to him.

Arien reached out to steady himself and felt fur beneath his hand. Startled, he pulled it back, recognizing the tiger. When did it get beside him?

"I'm fine," he growled, though he found he had forgotten how to move his feet. "I just need a short rest." He looked at Red. "I'll be fine with rest. Is your arm bleeding...?"

"Um no!" Red said too quickly. "But you need to rest. Get on Nex's back he can take you to the woods where we can rest," Red said concerned.
Nex got closer to Arien and looked up at him. Red hid her arm behind her back.

Arien sighed and then looked warily at the tiger. He'd only ever ridden a horse twice in his life. Carefully, both so as not to lose his balance as much as to not startle the tiger, he swung his leg up and over the creature's back. He couldn't help but grin as he sat there, clutching gently but firmly to the tiger's scruff.

"Man, no one is going to believe me when I tell them I've ridden a tiger."

Nex flicked his ear in irritation, beacuse Arien was much heavier than Red but he didnt complain. Red kept her injured arm out of sight and walked towards the woods, Nex following. Mewling from a kitten suddenly erupted from Red's rucksack. She gasped and quickly took off her rucksack. Then opened it and took out a black kitten with a white patch around her left eye.
She cradeled the kitten and put the rucksack back on.
"Shhh... Its ok. I'll take care of you," Red whispered and smiled.
She softly scratched the kitten behind her ear. The kitten slowly quit mewling and fell asleep in Red's arms.

As soon as they made it to the woods, Arien slid off Nex to pool onto the ground in a heap. He never expected to hear mewling--or to see Red pull out a kitten.

"Where'd you find that?" he asked as he dug into his own bags. He pulled out one of the large bones and tossed it in front of Nex. "Thanks, Nex; I've got one for Neo, too." He looked the kitten over and shook his head. "Don't you have enough cats?"

"It was abandoned. And yes i do but im not about to let this one die for nothing!"Red snapped the last part.
She was frowning at Arien, mad now. She stormed off several feet and sat by a clear, lake. She could see the bottom and smiled. She put the kitten down on her top shirt, which she took off to make her comfortable. She had a undershirt on; taking off the rucksack, she walked into the water.
Taking out the band that held her hair up, she threw it to the bank next to the rucksack.

Red dived into the water and sank down to the bottom. She stayed under the water, swimming around.

Arien shook his head and leaned back against a tree. He let his eyes close as he listened to Red swimming in the water. What is with her? he wondered. One moment friendly, the next hostile. Maybe her arm was hurting. He had extra bandage in one of his bags, if she needed it.

He didn't mean to fall asleep--but he figured the tiger would protect Red if anything bad did happen.

Males are so irritating! she thought angrily as she was swimming.
She broke to the surface of the water and swam to the bank then climbed out. Sitting on a rock, she relaxed as the sun warmed her up.
Nex layed down next to Arien and put his head on his paws.

The excitement from the day caught up to Arien. He shifted to get more comfortable and opened an eye to see Red basking in the sun. He smiled to himself; she looked comfortable.

"I've got food in one of my bags if you're hungry," he said softly--not wanting to startle her or Nex. "You're welcome to it."

Red closed her eyes then slowly unwrapped her arm. The bandage had started to become useless during her fight. Her wound had started bleeding, but thankfully it had stopped. She kept it unwrapped and slipped back into the water.

Nex looked at Arien then flicked his ears dismissvely.

Arien glanced at Nex. "What? No, wait, don't tell me. Red's been keeping secrets. I astound myself." He sighed and looked back over to the stream, hoping Red didn't pass out or anything while swimming.

Nex's eyes lit up in amusement then he closed his eyes and a few minutes later fell asleep.

Red kept swimming and stayed under for several minutes. She had alot to think about an wasnt ready to face anyone right now.

Arien followed the tiger's lead. He grabbed the nearest bag, folded it into some semblance of a pillow--lumpy and not covered in dirt--before falling asleep as well.

Teleporting two people plus fighting in one day was a heck of a more workout than he expected. But he smiled to himself in his sleep. He'd learned he could teleport with another person.

Hours later, when dusk had already fallen; Red was still doing the same thing. Swimming, basking inthe sun, swimming, basking in the sun. When dusk fell she got up from the rock and walked over to the kitten, who had started mewling by this time, she picked her up and searched her rucksack for a piece of meat she had bought just before running into that man.
She smiled when she found it then put it and the kitten on the ground, letting it eat.
"Just one more time.." she whispered and slipped back into the water, loveing the cold, refreshing water.

Arien awoke with a shiver and jumped to his feet when he realized how late it was. "Ah! Have we been out here all this time?" His leg muscles cramped just then, making him fall over.

Sitting up again, he stretched a little, grimacing. "Note to self, start with short distances." He looked around for Red, wondering where she had gotten off to. Until he heard water--was she still swimming?

Nex looked up at Arien when he got up. Then let out a purr when he fell over, finding it amusing.

Red stayed under the water and swam to the bottom, 15 ft down. Patch! Thats what i'll name the kitten.. Red thought and smiled. She loved the water, especially here where it was cool, clear, and deep.

Arien glared at the big cat for a moment. "Ha, real funny." Slowly he got back to his feet and then tottered stiffly to the pond. A drink of water would be good about now. As well as checking on Red's injury.

The edge of the pond stared at him and then he collapsed and cupped his hands together at the water's edge. He took a sip and then another, relishing the wetness down his parched throat.

Nex closed his eyes and dozed off again.

Red kept swimming then swam back up to the surface. She looked around and saw Arien gulping down water. She smirked and took a deep breath then dived back down. She swam over to Arien and nroke the surface of the water. She grabbed his shirt and pulled him down into the water with her.

Arien was unprepared for the sudden attack, and with a yelp he fell in headfirst. He fought his way to the surface, gasping in air, before the weight of his clothes pulled him down. Except his feet were on the bottom of the pond already.

"What the-!" he spotted Red and then made a point of removing his sheathed sword from his hip. He tossed it onto the bank, along with his boots. "I can swim well enough," he said, diving back into the water with a significant splash.
