Arien flopped back after he'd cleaned his bowl. "Well, your mother would be proud," he said, looking up at the sky.

Bella finished her bowl as well, licking it clean, and then came over to set it down beside Arien. Arien sat up suddenly.

"Aw man! I didn't even..." he started to laugh. "I never even doctored it up." Laughing he lay back again.

Red grinned at his comment then finished her second bowl. She looked at him in surprise and confusion.
"What? Are you ok?" she asked.

He finally managed to stop laughing. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." He grinned and chuckled still. "I just can't recall the last time I forgot to add Tabasco sauce into a meal. I think it was the skunk that did it. But it was a very good meal." He shook his head and then grunted as Bella proceeded to step on him to nose around in his cloak.

"Hey! Off, Bella, off!" His voice rose and then she was off, something in her mouth. "Bella! Get back here!" She was dashing away with his last vial of Tabasco sauce.

But Bella didn't go far. Only as far as Nex, plopping down beside him and depositing the vial next to him with a tail wag.

Red laughed as Bella ran away with his vile of tabasco sauce. "Good to know my food is good and you dont need the sauce anymore," she said happily. Looking at her hand, she wondered what a ring would look like there then shook her head and ignored it.
Picking up all the dishes, she walked to the nearest river and cleaned them out. Sighing, she put her hand on her tummy for a minute before going back to cleaning. It was strange though, only a few days of being pregnant and she felt that motherly protectiveness that came with it.

Nex purred in amusement then licked Bella's ear.

Arien scowled as he went to reclaim his vial of Tabasco sauce from Bella and Nex. "If you wanted some, Bella, you could have just asked."

Her gold eyes froze him in place just long enough that he was wondering if he would ever get moving, when finally she wagged her tail and looked away.

He passed a hand over his face. "Stop that, Bella." And then he frowned. How would Bella react to a baby? He was still thinking about that as he went back to the tent and moved their things into the house. It was dry enough and ready to move into, they just needed to add another room. He tried to make it as comfortable as possible and then stood back to nod satisfactorily. It looked almost as comfortable as an inn, with the blankets stacked and pillows neatly ordered.

Red was finished and went back to the camp, putting the dishes down. Looking around for Arien and there stuff, she picked up the dishes again. Then took them into the house and smiled as she passed by their room. Seeing Arien looking proudly at his neat work, she took the dishes into the kitchen and put them up.
Thank goodness that the house was cleaned up mostly. Now they just needed to add the extra room, which she could provide the lumber for.

Arien saw her walk past. "Hey, Red, I'm going to head to town tomorrow to fetch some things for the house. Is there anything I can get you while I'm there?"

Red walked back to the room and leaned against the door frame. "Nope. I've got everything i need. Well actually.. Can you get me some arrows and a new bow?" she asked.

Arien brightened. "Sure, not a problem." He went over to wrap his arms around her and give her a kiss. "Anything for you, Red."

Well, he did have an ulterior motive for going. He'd seen her glance at her hand--no doubt wanting a ring. And truthfully he didn't want to delay things much longer. He'd pick up something nice for her, while he was there.

"Is there anything particular you want your bow to have?" he asked. "Or the arrows?"

Red smiled and kissed him back. "Thank you, Arien. If the bow had some carvings that would be nice. I used to have an old idian bow and it had some nice carvings. I lost it in the fire though," she replied then took Arien's hand and intertwined their fingers.

"I'll do my best to find something you'll like." He tightened his entwined hand around hers and then smiled. Abruptly he moved so he could sweep Red off her feet. "Shall I show you the fabulous room I set up for us, then?" he asked, hauling her to the bedroom with gusto.

"We'll decorate it better when we get time. But for now..." he laid her gently on the thick blankets, "you should rest."

Red held onto Arien when he picked her up and smiled. "It looks great Arien. You did a wonderful job," she complimented.
When he placed her on the bed, she smiled and pulled him down with her.
"I love you Arien," she murmured and kissed him gently.

"I love you more," said Arien, joining her on the bed and deepening the kiss.

Outside, Bella rolled until she was half lying on top of Nex. She sighed and closed her eyes, head perched atop his scruff, happy as could be.

Red kissed back deeply and snaked her arms around his neck. It was nice and cozy in the house, winter was coming cause frost lined the leaves early in the morning. The chill never left the air throughout the day.

Nex purred softly and put his head on his paws, relaxing with Bella so close.

Arien snuggled closer, forgetting about the day's trouble with the skunk. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. Whatever the cold days ahead, he was looking forward to his days beside her.

Bella settled into a light snore, whimpering a little in her sleep, or twitching depending on her dreams.

Red snuggled into him and buried her head in his chest. Everything was better with Arien beside her. Falling asleep quickly, she had a dreamless nights sleep.

Nex licked her softly and comfortingly everytime she whimpered in a dream.

He lay awake for a little while longer, enjoying Red's warmth at his side and her head on his chest. At last he fell asleep, reminding himself before he drifted off that he would need to get an early start if he was going into town.

Bella woke only briefly during the night, listening to the sounds of the night before settling down again to lick Nex's scruff for a moment or two.

Red woke late in the morning and realized the cold spot next to her. "Left already huh?" she mummbled sleepily.
Rubbing her eyes, she got up from the bed and went into the kitchen.

Nex woke early in the morning but didnt move because of Bella. He purred softly at feeling her with him.

He'd left at dawn, and was only just now arriving into town. The first place he went was to a jeweler, where he could find the perfect ring for Red.

He explained what he was looking for and the man nodded and then produced a small, silver band with engravings on it. Two of them. Arien grinned. "Perfect."

Now to find the bow and arrows...

Bella snuggled into Nex, enjoying the warmth and softness of another furry body other than her own. And at last, reluctantly opened an eye. She wagged her tail in greeting.

Red heated up some left over stew and ate it quickly. Then she went outside and mixed up her elements to create metal then wood. Making an axe, she set it outside then sat down. Exhausted from using her powers, the pregnancy was taking its toll on her suddenly. Leaning against the wall of the house, she looked around the clearing and smiled when she saw Bella and Nex.

Nex purred louder and rolled onto his back, keeping Bella on him though. He put his paws around her neck and pulled her head close, grooming her head and neck thoroughly.
