Gabriel was out on the beach near his house, just taking a walk. He often did this at night, when there weren't many people around, especially on nights like this when the skies were clear and there was a full moon. He just didn't like crowds, and the thought of wearing a swim suit around a bunch of strangers mortified him. He's got on a pair of plain brown swim trunks and a baggy white tee-shirt, and a strange looking green and gold gauntlet on his left hand. Gabe also had a bag with him, and ask he was walking along in the surf, he was picking up seashells. He's carrying his flip flops in the hand with the bag, because he liked the feel of the wet sand on his toes.
His features are fairly average, with brown eyes and shaggy brownish hair that looked as if it needed a trim. He's short for a boy, though it didn't really seem to ever bother him that people usually towered over him. To anyone with the ability to sense spiritual things or to see auras, Gabriel would definitely appear to them as not completely human, though he didn't look it on the outside. He didn't seem to have a care in the world as he wandered along, for once he was actually pretty relaxed.

(Okay, went a bit crazy on my first post. lol)
Walking along the hillside nearby, a tall and slim male was enjoying the quiet night.
The sound of the water's gentle night waves amused him. Like the water talking in a strange sense...
Though this particular male had a fondness for such things. He loved nature greatly.
He knelt down, picking up a clam that was still alive, and throwing it back in the water.
Sure enough it would be eaten by some fisherman or bird eventually. But in his mind, even a few more
minutes of life could be precious.Because that's the way he always thought. Since the beginning of time when he was made. This male was known as Yami. An overseer. A God.
Though on the mortal plain he was vulnerable, he enjoyed coming to it to enjoy the many things there.
Standing about 6'2'', with an athletic build, he wore a long grey open-front coat. Blue belts connecting the front crossing over his chest and stomach. Black jeans and boots with a simple leather belt adorned the outfit. Really... he looked rather normal. Other than the gold armlets and choker with ancient ruins written on them. And not to mention the earrings on his... elf ears?
Yami sighed a bit, running his hand through his long black hair, which ended with snow-white tips oddly.
Glancing to the side he noticed a boy walking down the beach.
At first he chose to ignore it, but then he glanced back quickly, his ice blue eyes catching something...
A gold Gauntlet. And a strange aura.

A gold Gauntlet. And a strange aura.
Gabriel's usually oblivious to his surroundings, which probably isn't a good characteristic to have. However, something about Yami makes the hair stand up on the back of his neck and he looks around, trying to discover the source. That's probably when he spots Yami, and he'll hold his breath before giving a little wave. Hopefully whoever this guy was, he was friendly. Otherwise Gabriel was ready to run like a scared little rabbit. He's stopped walking for the time being, waiting for a response from Yami.
The aura probably wouldn't feel threatening to Yami, Gabe was just...different. If anything he seemed a bit nervous. He could just tell Yami was powerful, and a lot of the times around these parts that meant something bad.

Yami was quiet, taking in the details of the younger male.
He didn't seem threatening. Just... nervous maybe.
He saw the male wave and smirked a bit.
Yami jumped down from the hill rather elegantly, landing on one knee and his hand.
He slowly stood and approached Gabriel.
"You can sense my power, as I can sense yours. Don't worry, I won't harm you."
Yami glanced Gabriel over with his ice-blue eyes. His eyes seemed cold and calculating on first look, but if one were to look more, they seemed filled with knowledge... and sad.
"My name is Yami. And yours child?"

Gabriel tensed when the man approached, ready to run if he had to. When Yami didn't seem aggressive, the tension bled out of Gabriel and he gave Yami a tiny smile. "That's a relief. You um...have a lot of power." He'd rub the back of his head in a nervous gesture. He didn't even mind the man calling him child, aside from being completely dwarfed by the stranger, Gabe was more than likely way younger than him. "Gabriel." He'd offer his hand for a shake, hopefully the man wasn't offended by that. "It's a lovely night. I was collecting shells." He'd hold up the bag for Yami to see, "Care to join me?" Something about the mans expression made Gabriel think he wouldn't mind some quiet company. It might be a little odd for him to be so friendly with a man he just met, but working at the Taurus Temple had made him more sociable.
Yami just stared the younger male down as he spoke.
He glanced up towards the stars, ignoring the comment about his power.
He noticed the boys nervous gestures such as rubbing the back of his head, and the shy smile.
Realizing he must have been being accidently intimidating again, he tried to relax his body to seem less uptight.
"Gabriel. A lovely name. Very popular in the past, but not as much now. It could be considered unique now a days." He then smiled a little at the shells and comment about the night.
"...I suppose so. I wouldn't mind the company."

Gabriel wrinkled his nose up, he wasn't a fan of his name at all, but for more personal reasons. Still, he'll try and be polite. "Thank you. Your name is pretty unique too." He's shifting so that there is room for Yami to walk next to him, either on the beach or in the surf like Gabriel had been.
For awhile he's quiet, picking up shells to add to his bag and showing them off to Yami as they walk along. The more they walked, the less anxious Gabriel seemed to be. He'd finally pipe up again, "Sometimes, when I come to the beach at night, it's to think." He'd glance up at Yami, "Something about the sound of the waves...makes it easier for me I guess." He'd pause, "It seemed like...you had something on your mind...?" He'd leave it open ended, sometimes he found it easier to talk to people he didn't know well, because if they judged you, well...it didn't really matter did it? But he knew not everyone was like that. With that, he's bending to pick up another shell, content to walk along quietly again.

Yami just walked alongside the boy silently.
He wasn't used to just chatting casually like this.
He did find some amusement in Gabriel showing off the shells he was collecting though.
It was nice to see someone in this day and age appreciate nature like that.
"...It... is nice isn't it... relaxing." He replied to Gabriel's comment.
As for the next question he had it in his mind to ignore it, but something made him feel comfortable
enough to speak with the boy.
"...I too... enjoy such places. Just thinking. With what I am... I rarely have time to just think about myself or my own desires. Instead of other people."

Gabriel continued to walk along, and he gave a little laugh, though he wasn't laughing at Yami. "You sound like my Dad." That phrase might have seemed odd to anybody else, but given that Yami could already feel that he wasn't quite human, he figured it didn't matter.
He'd look up at Yami again then, "So...what do you want to do? You could help me collect shells if you want." The guy was quiet, maybe he would enjoy such an activity. "I'm using them to decorate my bathroom. I just moved into a new house." He's grinning and a few small hearts appear around his head, only to float to the ground and pop like they were bubbles.

Yami kept pace with him, a little confused by Gabriel's laugh.
"...I see." He replied slowly, sounding thoughtful.
At Gabriel's offer he slowly smiled, "...Alright. I'll gather shells with you."
He looked to Gabriel, "Decorating...? Hmmn." He relaxed a bit, picking up a shell, delicately
dusting the sand off of it with his fingertips.
"You're interesting." He said slowly, noting the heart-like bubbles.

Gabriel seemed to realize he'd done something wrong, "It's just that he says that a lot. In a roundabout way." He really didn't want to talk about his Dad though, especially with a person that he didn't know at all. When Yami picked up the shell, he'd look over at it, "Oh...that one is pretty. Nice find!"
He's picking up one himself and dusting it off to add to his bag. He looked a little surprised when Yami said he was interesting, "Well...that's the nicest way anyone's ever put it." He didn't seem upset by it at all, "Did you want your own bag? Maybe you could decorate a room in your house!" He seemed fairly cheerful and relaxed, hopefully Yami wouldn't think he was talking too much.

Yami just continued to keep pace with him.
At Gabriel's comment he handed the shell to the boy.
"...I don't need such things." He replied in a solemn tone.
He smiled a little though.
"Besides, I'm sure you'd enjoy it more than I."

Gabriel seemed surprised when he was offered the shell, "Thank you!" He'd beam, and a few more hearts would pop up around him. "Don't you have a house...or a temple?" With all the power radiating off of Yami, he figured on the man being at least a god. He'd add the shell to his bag, and he kept walking along, happily squishing the wet sand between his toes.
"If you don't mind me asking...which...pantheon are you from? Maybe I could guess who you are!" He seemed to want to make a game of it, though chances were he likely hadn't heard of Yami before. "I bet you know my Dad." He always felt like everybody knew his Dad.

"You're welcome." Yami replied simply.
At the next question he seemed amused.
"I live normally in my Sanctuary, which is between dimensions. I am an overseer."
He relaxed, "Not many people know of me. I do not have any temples dedicated to me. Mainly because my work is seen through others, not through me. And those who do know me, only know rumors."
"I may know your father, but due to interaction with you, I cannot see your fate, and therefore am unable to guess who your father is." He looked to the gauntlet. "I'm guessing one of the Roman or Greek Gods, which would make you a halfling. Which would also explain your... unique traits..." He watched the hearts flow to the ground and pop.

Gabriel thought about it, "Sounds neat. Guess it's probably all already decorated though." He'd pause a moment to squish his toes in the sand, "Seems lonely though." He didn't press for more right then, "I probably won't have heard of you then." He'd continue on, "Yup! I am." he'd grin at Yami, "Though I bet you can't guess which one." Most of the time people tended to guess Eros, though he didn't blame them. Even Gabe's own Dad sometimes questioned it. Gabriel usually wasn't so open about who his father was, but since Yami was another god, he figured it would be okay.
He'd glance at the hearts himself, he'd been doing it for so long that he rarely even noticed it anymore. "Er...if it bothers you I can try and stop doing that. It sort of just comes without thinking now."

Yami glanced away at Gabriel's comment. Decorated? Why? No one would be there to look anyways.
There was too much white... such an empty place.
At his next comment, Yami was glad the boy continued on.
"You work at a temple don't you? Both one for Taurus and one for Hermes out of the males. So one of them I'm assuming."
He then chuckled slightly, "...No. It doesn't bother me."

Gabriel wasn't sure why his comment seemed to have affected Yami, and he bit his lip, "Did I say something wrong?" As for the temples, Gabriel looked honestly surprised that Yami knew where he worked, "Well, yeah. How'd you know I spent time there? I mean...I don't...actually work there. I just sorta take care of them. Made promises and all."
He'd continue on, "It's Hermes." He didn't sound overly thrilled, "We're not on the best of terms though." He seemed to wilt on the topic, and he was glad his hearts didn't seem to bother Yami. He'd pluck one out of the air that was still floating, and he'd offer it to the God, "My friends like to eat them." It was a little weird, "They taste different for everybody, but most people seem to settle on some sort of candy." He could eat it if he wanted, or toss it aside where it would pop on the ground.

Yami shook his head, "No. Just thinking." He replied.
He then smiled at Gabriel's next comment, "...I am an overseer. But since I made contact, I only know things that I had seen."
"I understand..." He said slowly. Best terms... it reminded him of how his son Lore despised him.
He looked over to Gabriel when offered to small heart, "..." He slowly took and and decided, what the heck, and ate it. It was sweet. He was a bit surprised. Normally he didn't eat much, not having to, to the general sensation of taste surprised him a bit.

Gabriel nodded, "Oh, alright. If I say something stupid just tell me...sometimes I talk too much and don't think about what I'm saying." It had gotten him in trouble more than once before. He'd pick up another shell, "Have you got any kids?" He realized that not everybody felt comfortable answering that question, but he couldn't help but ask.
He's pleasantly surprised when Yami takes the heart to eat, "What flavor'd you get? My hus--" He'd flush, not sure how well Yami would take that bit of information, "Someone I'm close with, he says they taste like blueberries, and another friend says they taste like caramel."

Yami shook his head, "No, it's best to keep yourself open in your words and thoughts." He replied.
He watched Gabriel pick up another shell, but then frowned at the next question.
"...I have many deities I've created... but only one son of my own flesh."
He was relieved at the next question, "...Perhaps... candied apples?" He mused, then nodded, "yes... that's about right..." At Gabriel's comment however, Yami had caught him.
"You need not be embarrassed. Love is love. Form does not matter. As love is between the souls, and merely expressed through flesh."
