Hello! I am Agrize, or Aggie if you prefer. I'm a long time online roleplayer for nine years. I've been solely on single-story forum roleplays so this is all new to me. Some of the genres I love are apoc/post-apoc, medievalesque fantasy, and sci-fi among other genres that have slipped my mind. I've played practically everything out there aside from matchmaker rp, 1x1 rp, and slice of life. There are a couple of tabletop rps that I have played however the campaigns barely started before I had to quit (moved both times). One was Eclipse Phase and the other was Numenara or something of the like. Both were fun and I'd love to see if something like that is here. Looking forward to writing with you all!
Hello, and welcome to RP Repository! I am sure that you will have a great time here, and I believe that from my own experience! Feel free to ask any questions and we can help you!

Thank you for the warm welcome, RainbowToRosie! Do you have any tips to finding a nice roleplay that welcomes people new to this type of rp?
Hi!!!!
Welcome to RPR! I hope you have a super-duper fun time here! If you're ever looking to roleplay just hit me up and we can work something out!
And also, your picture is super cool.

Thank you! You will see a pm from me after a short while! My picture was done on commission by a wonderful artist! I have the full image somewhere. It's actually a character reference for one of my horse rp characters.
Hey there, and welcome to RPR! We're a very happy and friendly community who love people and RPs. If you're looking for... say high school fantasy/science fiction RPs, those are good ones to start out with for people who are new to this kind of roleplay. I used to be a one-on-one RPer and particularly disliked forum RPs and refused to roleplay on the forums. And I came out of my little hole and started doing group RPs.
Actually, I'm a new member myself and since I've been here, I've very much enjoyed being here, and I bet you will, too. I'll list out a couple high school RPs that seem pretty interesting. If you find one to your liking, I am currently roleplaying in one of them.

Hope you find your way around perfectly. If you have any other questions, ask me or some other members. ^^

Welcome to RPR! I hope you enjoy your stay here ^^ Everyone's pretty nice, so finding rp shouldn't be too hard to do.
Welcome!
Do you mean that you come from places where the entire forum, with however many threads/topics it had, were all dedicated to a single story? I've seen a couple places like that, and tried to start my own, but they seemed particularly tricky to manage.

Hi! Glad to meet you.
Single-story forums are very cool, I've enjoyed those and single-story MUDs very very much in my time. Some groups here on RPR follow a similar structure.
Just for reference to make sure you're on the same page, you might want to give a quick glance over our primer on basic RP concepts. Not because you're actually new, just as a way to make sure you understand and jive with the general accepted norms here.
However, when it comes to styles and systems, I can't give you a single "this is how it is here!" answer, regarding a tabletop system or anything like that.
Our goal is to provide the general tools so that people can do any kind of RP that they want. I think that's part of what sets us apart from most other RP sites, which are often built to work with a specific system (ex. D&D 3.5) or style (ex. paragraph freeform) or even setting (ex. Harry Potterverse).
We have the flexibility for much more than one type of RP, which is awesome, but also makes it a little harder for us to tell you exactly what will be expected from you in every RP that you join here! But most people will happily tell you their expectations or what they'll need from you if you express an interest in knowing more about a potential RP.
When it comes to starting RPs, most people start in the Looking For RP forum to find some other players. There's also a search tool that will help you find what you're looking for within that forum - click "Find RP" in the top menu, then "join game" then scroll to the bottom to adjust your preferences for game types. If you want more info on using that search tool, here's a handy help article.
If you end up joining someone else's RP, they'll let you know the details about how to join in.
If you're starting up your own RP, you have a few choices about how to proceed once you've found a RP partner or two.
By the by, you can use the "launch chat" button at the top and bottom of any forum topic, whether it's in a private group forum or our public RP forums, to turn your topic into a real time chat! There's also a link in the sidebar of private messages that will let you do the same.
Okay, there's my giant info dump. Feel free to ask more questions if it wasn't enough or I totally missed the mark on your questions!

- You can just create a RP topic on one of our 3 public RP forums: General Roleplay, Sci-Fi Roleplay and Fantasy RP. Keep in mind that because these areas are public, you'll have to make sure the RP stays in the PG-13ish range.
- You can choose to RP via private messages, and just create a new conversation thread with all your RP partners as recipients. Since this is private, the only rules that tend to apply are not to do OOC illegal things and be nice to your RP partners OOC.
- If you're going to have a whole lot of people in your RP, or the RP setting is going to be very strictly defined and you want to have a place to store world building information alongside it, you might consider starting your own group. This gives you access to profile building tools for the group, but also to creating your very own forums!
- In some cases, you and your RP partner might even decide to use some other messenger or game to RP on.
