AJ looked at him, "Not gunna order pizza?" She moved through to the livingroom, letting him do as he pleased. She ran her hands over the DVD's, "So, what do you guys do for regular money? Do some of you have, er... real jobs?"
"Oh, right. Pizza." He shook his head to clear his thoughts and pulled his cellphone out. He paused before dialling when she asked about work and money.
"We rob banks," he said as a joke. Then realized that that might not fly. "No, actually we're honest guys. We have local jobs and stuff. Some of us travel around a little more than others." He shrugged. "Some of us have benefactors so we don't run out of cash. It's not exactly the most glamorous lifestyle. But it works--for us."
He looked over at the DVDs she had. "You got quite a few movies," he said. "Got a favorite?"

"How about 10 Things I hate about You? That's funny." She gave him a smile, as though that were a regular choice. She was holding back laughter, thinking of this big tough guy watching a romcom with her. She pulled the DVD out, "It's got Heath Ledger in it." She was hoping he wouldn't be ontop of older movies.
Roosevelt grinned. "How fitting," he said. "Sure; works for me. Let me call in the pizza order first."
A few minutes later and he hung up. "Pizza should be here in a few." He settled down on the couch with a sigh.

As she popped the DVD in, AJ grinned to herself. This was going to be a fun night. Now all she needed to do was make sure in the morning when he left, he was leaving with good feelings about her. While she didn't believe in "the one", she certainly believed in not letting a good guy go without reason. She settled onto the couch next to him, looking over with a sappy smile, "Best first date ever."
Roosevelt laughed, unsure whether she was joking or being serious. "Really? The best? I'm flattered, I think." But actually, he was kind of looking forward to this. He couldn't remember how long it had been since he last had a chance to relax. The Resistance certainly hadn't been relaxing for the past three months while setting up this whole operation.
He leaned back against the couch and then casually draped his arm over the back of it. "I think I could get used to this," he murmured, glancing sidelong at AJ.

"Well," She began, looking him over, "There aren't too many first dates to compare this to." She leaned her head back, her short black hair touching his arm, "How often do you work out?" She pressed play, but it wasn't the movie she was interested in, at all.
Roosevelt shrugged, and let his arm slide a bit further down on the couch when AJ leaned back. "Depends on what you mean by working out. I regularly lift--" he cut himself off, smiled wanly, "things. But it's not like I go to the gym. Not as much as you seem to. Well that and I'm not usually in one area long enough to use a gym membership for long."
His gaze traveled to the tv screen, though already he knew he probably wasn't going to be watching, or remembering, much of the movie.

AJ settled in, leaning against him, waiting for the buzz from the pizza guy. She rested her head on his shoulder, "So, you like awesome pizza, awesome girls. Do you drink, or smoke? Any nasty habits I should know about? I sometimes have a drink, but I'm scared that my powers'll go haywire and kill me."
He chuckled. "I don't exactly have money to waste on cigarettes or alcohol. Or drugs." He sighed. "Most of what I get goes towards ammunition." He frowned, recalling the earlier incident. "I'll bet we made the news," he murmured and then shook his head.
"Plus, I'm a horrible lightweight when it comes to alcohol. Tea, oddly enough, is my beverage of choice. I'll drink coffee, but I prefer tea. What about you? Tea or coffee?" ...So much for the movie in the background.

"Coffee, sadly. It's how I met Casey." She scowled, as though his name left a bad taste in her mouth. She curled up, pulling her legs up on the couch, just as the bell rang. She frowned, "If I give you my keys, can you pop down and get that? I'd totally do it, but... y'know..." She gave him a smile, looking up at him, studying his face, "You're handsome." She blinked, wondering where that had come from.
Roosevelt shook his head, trying to bite back a smile. "Casey, huh. I imagine he's probably okay when it's just the two of you..." he said trying to be nice, when he heard the bell.
"Ah, pizza's here. I'll grab it," he said and stood up. "I shouldn't be too long." He paused and looked down at her, and then, without thinking, gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
He pulled back, flushed enough that a red tint could be seen on his face. "Ah I'll go get that pizza." I scurried for the stairs, berating himself for that sudden move. Why had he done it? But she'd looked so cute, so innocent while studying his face so openly... "Cody's gonna kill me man."

While he was gone, AJ rubbed her cheek, smiling. She blushed and giggled to herself, looking around her flat - tonight was perfect. No matter what happened, tonight would be awesome.
Until of course the power went out. Plunged into darkness, AJ looked around, "Hmm, well..." She grabbed her crutches, moving towards the kitchen, lighting candles. She hoped that it wouldn't be too much of a bummer to loose out on the movie.

Roosevelt had just, literally just paid the man for the pizza and taken hold of the box, when the lights went out. Not just dim, not just dark. It was pitchblack.
"Awww man. Why does this have to happen now?" The smell of pizza rising from the box made his stomach growl and he sighed. There was no telling how much trouble AJ could get into being on crutches and in the dark.
At least he knew where the stairs were. He tripped up them, counting as he went. He lost track around the sixth or seventh floor and--because of the ill-lighting, couldn't tell which he was on. He went up one more, just in case, and tried to make out the numbers on the door.
"AJ? You in there?" he asked, knocking on the door and standing back, wondering if he was even on the right level.

"Yep!" She called out, coming to the door with a candle in a pretty holder, "One moment." She put the crutch to the side as she opened the door wide, "I've got candles going. Sorry, it looks like a coupla blocks are out." She stepped back, "Hope you don't mind." She grinned, looking at his face, flickering in the light.
Roosevelt raised an eyebrow as he entered the room, grateful he had made it to the right room. "Well, good thing we ordered pizza," he said. "Otherwise I might have suspected you of engineering this whole thing," he joked. "Quite a plan you had--to knock out the whole block."
He set the pizza down on the table and then flicked a light switch for good measure. No good. Power was definitely out. "Well, so much for the movie."

Aj nodded and sighed, "I don't even have any board games we could play. I mean, I have half a monopoly board and some Life money." She frowned, "Wow, I'm a crappy host sometimes." She settled back into the livingroom with a few candles, setting them up on the table, sliding to sit with her legs under the coffee table.
"I think you're actually a pretty good one; you haven't freaked out with the power out, you lit up candles to light the apartment, and you're good company. Besides," Roosevelt added with a smile, "I think we could probably finagle a Life Monopoly game with some made up rules thrown in for good measure."
He paused. "Well, I mean, we could always resort to Truth or Dare, but I've never been very good at it."

"Monopoly Life..." She trailed off, smiling, "Well, how about this, I choose truth. I'm not really good at the dares, but I'll try anything once." She patted a spot on the table, "Put the pizza here and you'll get to see why I don't have many dates." She laughed softly.
"Truth," grumbled Roosevelt, "why do they always choose truth." But he put the pizza on the table before them and opened up the cardboard top to let out a waft of rich pizza-y goodness. He inhaled deeply.
"Alright," he smirked, "I'll start off easy for the first question. What's your favorite kind of food?"
