What if our OCs know they're just OCs and will only be things to entertain us, living their lives knowing that one day we'll get rid of them and move on with life. But then we keep a sketchbook with them in it, and when our children get old enough, we give them the sketchbook and say "When I was your age, I would sometimes get lonely. And when I'd get lonely, I'd think about these little guys. Now I'm giving you these, and I expect you to take good care of them."
And then we teach our children about roleplay and creating good non-Mary Sue OCs and they start doing RP and creating OCs and the cycle continues until one of our great grandchildren decide it's stupid and they TRASH OUR OCS.
