Gabriel was closing up his restaurant for the night, and he was eager to get home. He's locking the doors tight, and pushing on them to make sure that they're locked before heading towards the beach, he enjoyed following along the beach until he got closer to where his house was.

He's got on a baggy white tee-shirt and baggy jeans that hide his slender form fairly well, and his hair looked like it could use a good brushing out. He's also got a strange green and gold gauntlet on his right arm, he never took it off, or maybe it simply didn't come off. He didn't seem to really be afraid to be walking home so late at night and he'd even kicked off his flip flops so he could dig his toes into the squishy sand. He loved the beach, everything about it made him feel at ease.

Nearby, a figure lay perched in a tree, sleeping as a leopard would, his crooked, scaled tail swaying slowly over the edge. The sound of the water closeby soothing him.

The only thing that stood out from his surroundings was his plain, white porcelain mask that covered his face, the rest of his garb rather dark, blending in better..

Gabriel sadly took no notice of Kurtis, though he probably had passed pretty close to that tree during his walk. He paused a moment to pick up a pretty shell, which he would dust off and then tuck into his pocket, before continuing on his way. He really didn't seem to have a care in the world. He was just happy to be going home to his significant other.

Shifting, his head turned slightly, tilting to look in the direction of the sudden prescence, colours slowly swirling onto his mask, soon moving to their place as deep, red eyes, watching him closely, almost curious.

He hesitated for a moment before sliding off the branch, twisting to make a proper landing.

Gabriel would keep walking, though the noise of Kurtis landing had him turning to see what was behind him. He'd spot Kurtis then, and nothing about the other being seemed to scare him all that much. He'd simply give a little wave, and then he's turning and heading along on his way. A little kindness never hurt anything right? If Kurtis could sense such things, he'd probably be able to detect that Gabriel wasn't quite human, though he might not know exactly what Gabe was.

Blinking, he tilted his head, confused at the rather fearless gesture, and hesitantly ventured closer, still watching him.

More colours moved into place on his mask, forming into a toothy grin.

"Not startled, are we?"

Gabriel tilted his head to the side, much the way a bird would. "No...should I be?" He'd seen a lot of things in his time living in this area, and he knew that a lot of things weren't what they seemed at first. "I'm Gabriel." He'd hold out his hand for a shake, "Nice to meet you." ((Sorry this took so long, ended up having to deal with something on the phone.))

He stared at his outstretched hand, frowning as if he'd never seen this gesture before, he wasn't used to this kind of treatment, then again, most never regarded him as approachable.

Gabriel let his hand fall to the side, "Don't have handshakes where you come from?" He wasn't trying to be mean, he realized it might not be a gesture that Kurtis was used to. "What's your name? Do you come out to the beach a lot? I like coming here...but mostly at night." He wrinkled up his nose, "During the day there are too many people here, gets too crowded."

"I..I'm not used to handshakes, no one really ever bothers with me.." He admitted, frowning. "I usually stay here, by myself, away from everyone else, everyone else.." He looked back to him. "The only name I remember having is Kurtis-Rutgar Jones."

Gabriel blinked, "Well that isn't fair." He didn't really seem to be phased by Kurtis' looks at all. "How come? A long time ago, I did that too. I didn't have any friends...it was really lonely." He seemed sad for Kurtis, "Hm...well Kurtis, it's nice to meet you!" Gabriel seemed pretty chipper, which Kurtis probably found odd. "Have you seen my restaurant?" He'd gesutre in the direction he'd walked from, "You should stop in some time...it's not too busy yet, I'm hoping it'll get more business soon!"

"Because of previous hostility, I've been much too scared to go back to mingle with humans.." He sighed quietly, but started to feel a bit more at ease now.

Gabriel bit his lip, "I know how that is, but my friends aren't like that. We're all a little bit strange." He'd laugh then, "I mean, one of my best friends is a wolf!" He didn't seem to be kidding either, "You really should stop by sometime. It's called Canary's Roost, I'm sure you'd fit right in." It seemed that Gabriel was always this friendly with everybody, and it didn't hurt to try and drum up some business for his restaurant at the same time!

He looked up to him, tilting his head slightly.
"Best friend is a wolf..?" It did sound a bit strange to him, but it was best not question it, it'd probably be rude, or so he thought.
"I suppose I could stop by there.." He paused and gave a nod. "..Thanks Gabriel."

Gabriel would beam, and a few hearts would pop up around his head that would slowly sink to the ground and pop as if they were bubbles. "You're welcome!" He'd look around, "I'd invite you now, but I just closed up for the night." He's pulling out his phone to make sure his husband wasn't trying to get a hold of him, "So...what do you like to do for fun?" He's a blabbermouth sometimes, he doesn't know when to shut up.

"Well..uh..nothing special really, to be honest, to be honest.." The expression on his mask turning to a frown. "I've wasted too much time worrying about other things when I could have been relaxing, I suppose."

He'd tilted his head, looking at the object Gabriel held, his crooked tail swaying, curious.

"Ah well...ever been to the board walk? There's near here, and it's loads of fun!" He'd send off a quick text message on his phone, before looking up at Kurtis, "I'm sure you've seen it, all the lights and the big ferris wheel?" It was kind of hard to miss!

"Yes, I have seen it." He nodded once.
"And, I have not been there, not yet, not yet, sadly, would you show me?"

Gabriel got a reply on his phone, and he frowned faintly, before looking up at Kurtis, "Sure, I just found out I've got some extra time. Come on." He's heading down the beach then, in the direction he'd been walking, "I think you'll like it. The Ferris wheel is really fun. And I love cotton candy." He'd look over at Kurtis, "Um...can you eat...regular food?" His face wasn't exactly normal, so Gabe wasn't sure.

He hesitated, taking off his mask, his face covered in dark blue-grey scales, he still had a nose and mouth, his lips blackened, but no eyes. "Oh..of course I can eat but..I'm not a fan of sweets."
He looked to him, smiling awkwardly, the mask plain as he held it.
"I'm up for anything else, though."
