it's a matter of personal preference, i think; i find less is more.
a spaced out well presented and easy to read profile will go a lot further than massive blocks of text: 'eyetracking visualizations show that users often read web pages in an f-shaped pattern: two horizontal stripes followed by a vertical stripe'. this is how people read most content online.
it's a vastly different pattern from reading a book-- you'll notice sites like google use this rule for ad placements, etc.
