"And did you choose that name, or has someone given it to you..?" He tilted his head slightly, curious, his crooked tail swaying slowly.
"Either way, it's an interesting name, interesting indeed~"
"Either way, it's an interesting name, interesting indeed~"
"...I had it given to me." 64 replied. "It's the only name I know."
He crossed his arms. "It's just a name. Not like it matters."
He glanced to Kurtis' tail. "...And just why is it interesting--"
He was cut off by someone looking into the alley, "Hey, isn't that the kid with the big reward for being returned?" Two men stood at the end of the alley.

Kurtis frowned, looking over to the two men, then back to 64.
"..Do you know them?"
"..Do you know them?"
64 slowly stepped back. "...No."
The men however stepped forward, "He doesn't look too tough... for 60 thousand?"
"I don't see the big deal, but I say we turn him in."
They approached drawing out weapons.
64's eyes widened a bit, but he quickly took out a knife himself.
"...It's not worth it..." He muttered.

"Eh, doesn't look like they're friendly after all." His frown became dangerous upon noticing the weapons.
The men approched slowly, "Move aside." The one said to Kurtis, "We just want the kid."
"He's worth a loot of money on the slave market."
64 snapped at that, "Don't you DARE use that word around me!"

"..I don't like the sounds of this.." Kurtis scowled, a low growl leaving him.
"Nobody tells me to 'move aside'.."
"Nobody tells me to 'move aside'.."
The one male grabbed 64's wrist and met his throat with a knife before 64 could move.
64 was stunned, frozen to the spot.
"Kid, we're bounty hunters. Don't even try."
The other looked to Kurtis, "You're not involved in this."

The other looked to Kurtis, "You're not involved in this."
"..I might as well be." His voice darkened, the colours fading from his mask, leaving it eerily plain. There was a faint cracking sound and long, scaled tendrils broke out from his back, the barbs on them gleaming.
64 glanced over slowly to Kurtis, unable to move.
The hunter pinning him suddenly took his free hand and hit 64 squarely in the side of the neck,
knocking him unconscious, catching him before he fell, throwing 64 over his shoulder.
"Are you really gunna try--" The hunter paused, noticing the scales.
"...What in the hell are you...?"
The other aimed a gun at Kurtis, "S-stay back."

The mask had vanished, revealing his scale covered face, his blackened lips pulling back into a wicked snarl before he advanced on the two men, the barbed tendrils lunging forward.
The men jumped back, the one dropping 64.
"What the heck is that thing?!"
"A demon! It's a demon!"
They both ran out of the alley, obviously scared off by Kurtis.

"Guess they didn't want to play after all, after all.." He sighed with disappointment, pouting before looking back to 64, one of the tendrils poking him lightly.
64 stirred a bit from being poked, glancing up looking a bit dazed.
"...Nng." He paused, looking to Kurtis and jumping back, instantly awake, muttering some obscenities.
"...Y-you..."

"...Y-you..."
"..What about me?" He tilted his head slightly, the tendrils retreating back.
"...You're... a demon... or something..." He leaning against the wall, staring a bit.
"...Though... you saved my butt back there... I'm not sure why though..."
He couldn't take his eyes off Kurtis, both scared and intrigued.

He nodded a little, his shoulders lowering.
"..Yeah, I'm a demon, what of it..?" He sighed, turning away.
"..Yeah, I'm a demon, what of it..?" He sighed, turning away.
64 exhaled slowly, "...I guess I can't say too much. I'm a freak. A demon's not bad company." He stood up.
"...So um... thanks... I think..." He shifted a bit, seeming a bit flustered about thanking someone.

"No problem I suppose.." He murmured, his mask returning, but remained plain.
"Do these guys follow you everywhere?"
"Do these guys follow you everywhere?"
64 sighed, "...Not just them... a lot of them..."
He gently ran his fingers along the collar n his neck and down the chain.
"...I'm an escaped slave. Due to my breed apparently I'm rare or something. Plus this one guy has something fierce against me since I took out his eye." He shifted. "There's a reward or whatever. So bounty hunters try to hand me in for it. I'm sure it's thanks to the guy who hates me. Otherwise they would have given up by now."
