Ever wondered what became of the people on those worlds visited by SG-1 but were never seen or heard from again? How did they fare the events that took place through the seasons? What became of them during the war with Anubis and the Ori?
SG-8 was one of the original nine teams assigned to Stargate Command from the day SG-1 brought back the Abydos cartouche. Starting with "The Enemy Within", this roleplay will run parallel to the series and follow the adventures of a team on the other side of the SG spectrum. I've had this idea since starting a similar Star Trek-themed one with someone (you know who you are
).
This can be either group or 1x1. Post length at one para minimum. As long as we're doing this 1x1, there shouldn't be any requirements for how often you have to post; otherwise, if you want to do a group RP, once a week should be a decent minimum. Rules are the standard fare you might be used to by now.
The basic premise is our characters follow up on the events of the previous episode. So, while "The Enemy Within" is taking place, our characters will start on Abydos preparing the people there in case Apophis or some other Goa'uld returns ("Children of the Gods"). Our characters' actions can also change events in the future (the butterfly effect, so to speak)!
For group-based RP, I need at least one or two players to take on human characters. Aside from that, characters can be any other species within reason (and continuity). I also suspect characters (and maybe their players) will come and go, so feel free to have a few secondary characters outside SG-8 proper. Just be reasonable about them too, k?
I can also make another Star Trek-themed version of this if anyone wants to give that a go. ^^

A love of Fantasy certainly fits though! Stargate in particular sort of leans on the Fantasy genre. One might call it Science Fantasy, though the Science aspects often got a little more screen-time. If you enjoy mythology though, you may like it! The stories could be slightly thought-provoking too at times.
