Psykhe was doing her usual tree climbing in the forest not far from her home. Most girls her age were off dealing with their social urges but most times Psykhe found she didn't exactly fit in with other girls. The weather, sunny with a hint of heat, allowed her to wear her favorite black sleeveless shirt held together at the sides with crisscrossing pink lace on the sides. Her pants were less creative as if less thought went into those. They were a simple black pair tucked into black worn boots that had thus far made her favorite pass time of tree climbing easier. The only other dash of color was the bright pink sash tied around her waist most likely holding her semi baggy pants up. For now..Psykhe was content to hum her little song enjoying the beauty of nature.
During her tree climbing something would catch her scent. The sound of her hum had attracted some attention and it may or may not be unwanted. Hiding and sneaking through the forest was a large undead beast of a man, slightly mutated with some strange forms. He crouched down behind a bush and behind a tree so he could peek out and see who was making that humming sound. When he located what or who it was, he canted his head to the side and watched her.
Psykhe was the usual oblivious teenager for now. She was rather wrapped up in her quest to find the perfect perch. Finally after climbing into a third tree she found a branch thick enough to hold her weight and slid out along the branch. When she reached the middle she adjusted herself accordingly and slid herself backwards until she was hanging upside down using her legs to hang onto the branch. All the while she continued her humming
Tezca decided that this girl was no threat to him, though her peculiar hanging in the tree confused him. He was certain that humans didn't hold onto trees like that. He stepped out from his hiding under the branch she was hanging onto and looked up at her. He didn't make any noise or make himself known, he just waited for her to notice him and his rotting flesh.
Psykhe had about a second or two of stunned staring before completely loosing her grip on the tree branch. You don't see ..well much in that part of the forest so seeing someone was scary enough. The rotting flesh just made her even more jittery. She'd land with a thunk on the ground then scramble to her feet holding up both fists as if ready for a fight. Lucky for her she hadn't chosen a high branch in the tree that time. "Who..no..What are you?" There was a slight undertone of an accent hidden in the teens speech but not enough to identify where it was from
As she fell, Tezca moved his arms out so that he could catch her, and she probably would be flailing and kicking as he caught her. He didn't really react to that other than putting her down right away on her feet. She would notice that he was very much taller than she was, large and very frightening looking. 8 feet tall, with skin missing from one side of his jaw, showing off one of his sharp canine teeth.
When she spoke, the quiet undead tilted his head to the side, unphased by her acts of aggression. Apparently he was not intimidated. "Tezca is Tezca. What girl is?" A strange accent you would only deem as tribal seeped thickly through his unnatural deep and raspy voice.

Psykhe took a couple extra steps back after being placed on her feet. Her eyes would stare the being down after he spoke as if trying to decide what she wanted to respond with. "You speak funny." Apparently that was the best she could come up with for a response. Her fist remained up though she honestly didn't think she'd make much of a dent if she swung.
A strange and disturbing looking grin spread across his face as she responded in this way. Usually people screamed, or ran, or cowered. At least he could have a chance at calming a fighting opponent or someone that teased him for the way he spoke. Speaking was honestly the least of his worries. "Tezca think girl talk funny." He casually and loosely moved his arm to jab in her direction with a finger. It wasn't pointing, but more of a swift motion. He straightened his head out and stood up tall. His chest puffed out a little, but that only made his sunken in and probably organless stomach look even thinner.
"Why want to punch Tezca? What Tezca do?"
"Why want to punch Tezca? What Tezca do?"
Psykhe glared and put her hands on her hips which at least meant they weren't threatening him. "I do not talk funny. I could talk like you. Psykhe doesn't like big scary tall...whatever you are." As to his question it seems her sudden outburst about speech was all she wanted to say.
He frowned a little and furrowed his brow. He wasn't angry, but his face just made him look like he might be. "Girl talk funny to Tezca. Why is only Tezca funny?" He really didn't understand by whose standard they were judging what was 'funny'. "Tezca human. Not look like, but is." He confirmed. He was human. Obviously!
He took another step closer to her and regarded her with more curiosity. "Tezca nice. Tezca no hurt. Is safe."

Psykhe looked him up and down several times before shaking her head "No way. You can't be human you are all gooey and well you look dead!" At this point she stepped forward almost imitating what he'd done. She'd reach a slow hand out as if intending to touch him but then drew her hand back. "How do I know for sure you're safe?"
Tezca looked down at her as she stepped forward. "Tezca die once. Is true. But is still human." He was sure of it, even if he did look different from other humans. Also, he just admitted to dying once. He made no sudden movements when she went to touch him, then recanted her action. He just smiled decidedly more gently than he had done before.
"Tezca not try to hurt yet. Tezca could if wanted to. Girl too small to stop." He pointed out. She obviously couldn't stop him from hurting her, so ... If he had wanted to, he would have. He held up his hands, to show that he was unarmed. But his staff was strapped to his back.

Psykhe stayed quiet for a moment as if thinking then shook her head "Well see you could just be giving me a false sense of security...and then BAM! You kill me. Not that I would let you. I'm stronger than I look" Well she was a little stronger than she look but mostly from climbing trees. She didn't know a thing about fighting. "What are you doing here anyway? I've never seen you before and trust me..I would not forget that face" Well at least she was honest even if brutal
Tezca shrugged some. He looked around and then went to sit down to lean his back against a tree. He crossed his legs indian style, removing the staff from his back and setting it down beside him on the ground. "Tezca no need to lie." He seemed really sure of himself. He would remove a pouch from his belt and open it up. He reached his fingers inside and pulled out a couple of berries and popped them into his mouth. It seemed like a very strange idea for an undead to be eating, but apparently he did. If at the very least to make him feel more normal.
"Tezca like forest. Tezca live in forest. Heard strange noise so Tezca come out to see and find girl in tree."
"Tezca like forest. Tezca live in forest. Heard strange noise so Tezca come out to see and find girl in tree."
Psykhe watched his every move waiting for the one that would put her in danger. When he ended up sitting there eating berries she looked at him with a dumbfounded look on her face. "You're just going to sit there and eat berries? What if I am dangerous. I could be. I know a witch. She could have taught me things" Yet they both knew that if she knew anything she probably would of tried it already.
Tezca raised a brow at her and continued chewing the berries. He was big, muscular, undead, and pretty mean looking if it weren't for his harmless demeanor. "Tezca know things too. Tezca has no reason to fear small girl." He smiled and offered the bag to her if she wanted some berries.
Psykhe shook her head "Mom said never take food from strangers unless you will die anyway." Stepping closer she'd attempt to toe at the staff he'd set beside himself. "What's this? Do you hit people with this?"
Tezca shrugged and dug out a couple more berries for himself and put them in his mouth, He closed the bag and tied it back onto his waist strap. He simply watched her toe at his staff. He didn't mind so long as she wasn't throwing it off a cliff or anything.
"Tezca sometimes have to, when Tezca defend self or others. Only use for good, not for bad."
"Tezca sometimes have to, when Tezca defend self or others. Only use for good, not for bad."
Psykhe tilted her head for a moment as if listening to something then she held her finger up to her lips making a 'shh' noise. She shifted so she was standing next to Tezca and crouched down. If he stayed still and quiet she'd point forward and whisper "This is why I like this part of the clearing. Look that's one of the new babies" Not far from the two of them were a couple deer one of which was still shakey on it's legs. Unless one of them made a sudden movement the deer would simply graze at the leaves in the area while staying protectively around the smallest one.
Tezca turned his head to watch the baby and the mama deer. He smiled a little bit. He was capable of being very still and very quiet. Afterall, he didn't really even need to breathe. He glanced at her and whispered. "Would girl like to pet the baby and mother?" He kept a keen eye on the two deer in the clearing to make sure they didn't run off.
