Kim Site Admin

Hi all!

I'm working on creating some pages for people who have not yet joined the RPR, but are considering it.

I can go on and on about the various features and ways to RP and how I love the community here so much I usually want to cry happy tears when I think about it, but I think it would mean much more if it primarily came from real community members. :)

So I'm gathering short and sweet quotes from people about what they like best about the RPR and why they are glad they joined! I would love to have a quote from you, too. :) Either post one up in this thread, or send it to me via PM!
Until you get a nice list built up, I'd recommend grabbing some quotes from Introductions. >.>

I've got a some from there, and a few others from office hours. But I figured I'd put out a general call, since not everyone frequents either. :)

The RP Repository has easily become my internet home. Nowhere else have I found a community so warm, accepting and supportive with such a levelheaded and caring moderator team. Just being you is encouraged here, and all styles and backgrounds are welcome in ways that are unique in the roleplaying world!
Oh gosh... coming from a primarily lurker disposition and finally coming out to introduce myself here as well as get to know people gradually over time, I can definitely say that being on RPR is one of the best experiences in my online life. It's great to have so many insightful conversations as well as discuss a lot of character stuff with others out there -- not to mention making friends and getting to do things with those friends besides just RP. There's just such a warm and sweet community here, and I really love how welcoming it all really is.

On top of all of that, the mod team and the admin are all very nice and sweet people from some of the brief conversations I've had with them. What really warms my heart is that the admin on RPR also takes time to pour as much love as they can into this site. Listening to what users want, listening to what users suggest, and just taking a lot of time out to make sure that RPR is what it is. <3
I've been here a little over a month and I already have people who I can call my best friends. That's more than I can ever say for any other place, even real life.

I also am glad I made an account here because I can finally bring my original characters to life :)
Whelp, I'll take a crack at it, sure~ (Tired enthusiasm is best enthusiasm)

The RPR is a site that is just amazing, and is probably the most friendly site on the Internet. See, I've come from a few sites, even non-roleplay ones, but this just takes the cake. You don't even need to know how to Roleplay to join- or even Roleplay whatsoever! This site, the community, the Mods and the Admin are probably the more human ones you can meet.

I think I just butchered it. Yay..!

RPR has set an unobtainable standard for other forums. Every facet of the site encourages users to better themselves, and to be polite, respectful, and welcoming. The large and diverse community means that no matter what kind of roleplay you enjoy you will be able to find like-minded players and have the tools needed for your game.
I've been searching for a place like this in like... forever! People on RPR are just wonderful, and at this point I'm unable to open a browser and not log in to RPR.
RPR is the best roleplaying site I know. My ideas and plots are welcomed and encouraged, and there is always someone willing to try an rp me! I have had some of the best storylines I've ever written, here with other RPR friends. I've made fantastic friends, grown in my writing, and I've had the opportunity to try every idea that's come to my mind! Rpr is my home <3
For me, RPR is an escape from reality. I can create the world the way I want it and nobody will complain. I can create people and creatures you've never heard of, and some you have. They all get their own story, their own chance at life. I can roleplay with others who enjoy writing as much as me, and develop my writing skills with their help.

RPR is truly an amazing place, where you can be yourself and not get criticized for it.

These are wonderful. Thank you so much everyone.
In all honestly it it were not for RPR I would have stopped role playing years ago, and wouldn't be the writer I am today. RPR has been literally the BEST community I've been a part of online. Everyone from the Site Admin to the moderators to the other members on the site are all amazingly friendly and immensely talented in their own rights. Thanks to RPR I've met so many awesome writers, a few who have become dear friends to me. I honestly spend more time on RPR than Facebook.
Without the RP Repository I don't think my role playing skills would be anything close to what they are now. Its let me grow as a writer and as a person. The wonderful people I've met and the friends I have made here will be something that I can never ever replace nor express my gratitude of having. RPR is just a beautiful place full of beautiful people. I really enjoy experience not to mention it does wonders for my severe depression the people on here have really been a blessing to me because they've helped me not lose my mind LOL. I love each and every one of them even the ones I haven't met yet.
Even though RPR was suggested by a friend, I was cautious when I arrived. I didn't expect to participate much or stay long. I had been through a number of online roleplay communities, and though I'd had plenty fun, I had mostly given up on them for various reasons.

What I found here has countered every single one (well, except maybe the borderline addiction!). The community proved to be fantastically welcoming, and within months of joining there were already people who seemed honestly happy to see me. I watched players of vastly different writing styles and stages interact, perhaps not always playing together, but still treating one another with much more respect than I'd seen elsewhere. The mods and admin herself are also an active part of the community, regularly and openly talking with users on the same level and being amazingly polite and understanding (yet still firm) whenever they need to step up into their duties. (I keep telling the admin, the wonderful Kim, that she really should write a book or something on community management. She's got it down.)

Everything is designed to build up the community - but at the same time, it's 100% acceptable to not be around much. Everyone recognizes and accepts that people have lives and even encourages each other to live them. Need to work in the morning? That's cool, go to bed and sleep well. Got sick and don't feel up to playing? No worries, focus on getting better. Going on vacation or just taking a break? Have fun! Hope to see you soon, but no guilt if not. <3
As someone with a mental health issue, I find RPR to be a great coping mechanism. I love that I can create many different characters and play them in Groups, on the forums, or even just in PMs because it helps keep my illness a bit more manageable. I am really grateful that my friends introduced me to this site, because I don't know what I would do without it.
The RPR has really built up my confidence as a writer. When I began, I had absolutely no experience roleplaying and the only writing experience I had were a few beginnings of short stories and many academic essays. It really allowed me to grow exponentially in creative writing, so much so that I am now working on my first novel and hope to write at least one bestseller. This community welcomed me with open arms during a time when I wasn't even really sure that I belonged here or anywhere else. Now I have several friends and I couldn't imagine not being a member of this wonderful community, even though I have to leave temporarily from time to time to deal with real life issues. However, I know I will always be welcome back here afterwards!
(Pardone any spelling errors as I am on my phone at the moment)

I joined a forum backnin 2005 that was my life-blood for 10 years. The community was something special, like I had found nowhere else. Sadly (as many forums do) it dwindled and I found myself searching for new stomping grounds.

I stumbled upon RPR and joined with bitter sweet emotions. I've tried out many forums since my maiden voyage back in 2005 and I had never found any that came close to holding that special community feel that I was used to from my first internet home. Until, that is, I joined RPR.

Everyone is friendly and helpful and finding good RPs was quick, easy, and painless. I have greatly enjoyed my time here and am very thankful for a new community that can fill that special place in my life.

Hope that isn't too long! Lol
Been on RPR for a year I think now and I've been RPing for 2 years. Me and my friends stumbled upon this bottle of sunshine from Msparp! I come on this website everyday though whenever I'm on vacation and such and tell or maybe even for get to tell my RP partners of my absence I know they'll understand because they're sweethearts! I can tell you through the year almost two of me being on this website I have met only met one bad egg and had few disagreements with people most of them being solved with just a few words of explanation. I think I have around 20 RPs going take some or leave some and I love them half to death. Each RP is interesting and each person on the website are mainly loving, kind, and friendly. I also can't forget they all know how to write to keep you intrigued. I promise you'll love this website and with that I hope you join and I also sincerely hope I see you around and I can RP with you all <3 Toodles and Thank you RPR!
