So I just created another character and it messed my whole dashboard up so it's no longer in alphabetical order. Is this a bug or did I do something by using all my character slots? And If I did something, is there a way to put it back in alphabetical order?
The "Dashboard" page will show you the most recently edited characters. So the character profile you edited last will always be at the top. This is fully intentional. You can see an alphabetized list by going to Dashboard > View and sort all of your characters.
Ah, okie dokie then. Thanks for the help.
This most likely means that you broke through a threshold. Level up!
The dashboard can only show you 15 characters at a time. Therefore, if you have less than 15 characters, it will show them in alphabetical order because that's all of 'em right there.
If you have MORE than 15 characters, suddenly some of them won't fit on the dashboard any more! Oh no! At this point, if your characters continued to be shown in alphabetical order, the ones later in the alphabet would be forever exiled from your dashboard and live through that link "see all characters." Which wouldn't make much sense if you had a character you hadn't played with in 3 years that started with an "A", but your current favorite character started with a "Z". You'd always be doing more clicking to find your favorite, and have instant access to the one you didn't care about.
Therefore, as soon as you have 15+ characters, the dashboard order changes from alphabetical to most to least recently updated, in the hopes of putting those characters you're working on more actively right now closer to your fingertips. As Sanne said, if you click through to the list of all of them, they'll still be in alphabetical order there.
