I know there are some steampunk characters out there. And probably RPers who are MUCH more knowledgeable about steampunk than me. (If you excuse that I've only read Leviathan, Goliath, and Behemoth by Scott Westerfield.)

There's an awesome RP going on over at the SciFi Roleplay called "Zeppelins", so please, please, toss in your characters. Arianna needs some back up Federalists, and I'm sure the Americans coud use some British help as well given the set up. xD So don't be shy. Step, hover, glide and float your way into some awesome airship adventures.

I am really, REALLY interested, but would it be possible to get some more information?

I too, would like to hear more about the plot and setting, since not all Steampunk is created equal. I've had a huge trouble fitting Lilura in places and I don't like to jump in without a good setting idea. Especially with Lilura, since she's my pride and joy.

I'm actually unfamiliar with the Steampunk setting, anyone want to fill me in? I always love a new RP

Steampunk is essentially the idea that the internal combustion engine never took off, and steam continues to be the dominant source of energy. Think cyberpunk, if you will, but 100 years in the past instead of the future. Lots of Victorian tendencies and clockwork. I myself was actually working on a RP plot where advanced science was against steampunk and America was the bad guy, but I think I'll set it aside for now to try playing this.

Hey everyone I'm the creator of "Zeppelins" and I'm very glad you're all interested.

This RP takes place in the near future, about 2037, but history is much different.
You know how back during WWII, Prime Minister Winston Churchill came to America and was hit by a taxi? Well, in "Zeppelins," he didn't survive.
The basis of the RP is that we never won WWII on the European front. America still beat Japan, but the Nazi regime took over Europe. The Nazis now call themselves "The New European Federation" and have almost total dominance over all of Europe and Russia. There has been a revolution however, and America declared war on the Federation to help the revolutionaries.
There are several positions to be played. You could be the captain of a ship, European or American, you could be a crew member aboard another players ship or you could be an officer.
Keep in mind that this isn't totally steampunk. The combustion engine has been invented and there are still tanks and cars and the such, but the airplane never succeeded, so all air transit and military operations are done by blimps.
Also, the gods of the more well known Greek, Egyptian and Norse religions are real. The Norse back up the Europeans (and please don't picture Thor as the guy from the Marvel comics), Greek gods are backing up America and the Egyptians are mostly neutral, with Osiris and Anubis mostly only helping with the death toll. They are mostly individual employers and will help whoever has the most to offer.

Okay, I have come up with a character, but before I continue, there is something I have to ask, especially since the gods are involved. Demigods? Mythology is rife with them, and in the particular case of Oberst Kruger Schwartzhunde of the SS, Zeus has never been associated with keeping it in his pants. Yes, a son of Zeus aligned with the Federals was my idea. He strangled his mother with his bare hands when he found out. Suffice it to say, Kruger is a villain.

Yes, Demigods are okay, but they won't have any special powers. Perhaps a higher rank in the army just for formality reasons, but not much beyond that point.
Well, Zeus/Hades/Poseidon/etc. are aligned with America as I said, but rebels are rebels. The federation may look down upon him because he is the son of an enemy god. Also, keep in mind, it's no longer the Nazis and the SS is no longer in commission, if that is what you were planning.

Well, since my character Arianna is effectively "grounded" at the moment, someone is more than welcome to jump in. xD

Hmm... I think I'm going to have to think some more, my idea for Kruger doesn't fit in so well with that information

Pen, you could still make a post. Your character has to land with her little group and figure out how to survive. Keep in mind that there was nothing in the hotair balloon besides yourselves, so get creative with survival.

Good point, Eon. I'm going to seriously need to brush up on my steampunk knowledge. *sigh* But survival skills I can do. xD Maybe someone will come to Arianna's rescue...
