So, all the experience with role-playing I've ever had is light roleplay on Garry's mod or randomly on websites in chat. The thing is, I'm really good at picking things up, and I can personify nearly anyone. So I'm lookingg for any advice or information on how this site some and how I can be a good RPer. Thanks to everyone that replies, I'll be sure to reply asap!

How to Git Gud at Roleplay

Step 0: Create a character! Start by weaving your creatively in a little imagination child of your very own. Unlike GMod which has light RP these characters have a complex backstory.

I sometimes RP on 1942 RP servers and always play the Flammentroupen role. I usually had a back story that he dreamed of being a Fire Kommondant and felt that fire was the greatest enemy to the Reich. I weaved a backstory from that.

So pretty much start there. A class, a race, a person and explain why they are who they are and how they got there. Their motivations dreams etc.

Step 1: Start a Looking for RP topic or apply for said topic with your newly created character!

Step 2: Start a dialogue OOCly with the person you're Rping with. Explain you're new and need some guidance. People are friendly here.

Step 3: Ask all the questions. No one learned anything without first asking a question, so don't be shy. Ask for clarification, ask for suggestions!

Step 4: Join the Just Chatting topic and hit up resident RP veterans. Learn from them.

Step 5: HAVE FUN. If you aren't having fun or it becomes a chore why do it amirite?
