Deep in the desert regions of the Kandahar province of Afghanistan stood a ancient ruin that seemed to protrude from the ageless sands an hidden away by the large plateau like formations leaving only a road that guides into it. The structures of this crumbling ruin seemed to be only a sad reminisce of what can only be describe as a wealthy city and temple only to be abandoned by the cruel sands of time. Within these ruins hidden away was a young Desert Lynx that appeared to be in his early 20s. Hidden away in a tower the Lynx gazed out towards the wasteland scanning the area. He sat their in the tower wearing desert camo pants with tan boots along with a black turtleneck with its sleeves rolled to his elbows. Also around his neck he wore a beige silk scarf that doubled as a head and face wrap. Next to him was a Dragunov SVD sniper rifle that has clearly been used. He was hired by the local militias to guard the ruins. Although they wouldn't tell him what was so important about this ruin especially due to the 3 kills he had all ready gotten in the past two days, two scouts and a rival sniper. He sat their and wondered if it was for the pass that lead straight into in Zabol region in the north but there was easier paths into that area. The lynx decided to then simply sit down behind the small tower wall back into the shade and resume watching through small peephole monitoring the ruins and the path.
Suddenly, another creature showed up. ...No, TWO showed up. It was a hippo and her son. ...But something seemed odd about the hippo. She had a kangaroo like pouch and an alligator tail (if allowed). She was weilding a large staff with an Ankh on it. She appeared to be a necromancer or some type of mage. She walked toward the tomb at her own pace. She was looking around for any other treasure hunter.
(the pouch and tail is allowed but Zarif is gonna have some thoughts about it also is you char even wearing anything? just asking)
The lynx spotted the outline of a figure approaching although he couldn't make it out...at least for now. leaning closer to the peephole he closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. Suddenly it was possible to make you some blood veins around his eyes as they went black. Opening his eyes they was no longer a normal brown but entirely black like to orbs filled with a dark a grim void releasing no light. Yet he could still see, in fact far better now. Now he can see the strange figure that approached. Honestly the lynx had no idea what to think of the....individual approaching. He clearly can see what appeared to be some hybrid hippo with a.... kangaroo pouch and alligator tail? He had to blink for a moment to believe his eyes and wonder what is with the Egyptian getup. "This guy looks like they got lost from some costume party." he thought to himself as he reached for his rifle and started to poke above the wall still to far to be noticed. Setting up he started to take aim and looking through the scope with those black void like eyes. As he began to aim preparing for a kill shot he paused for a moment and noticed a important detail. There was a child with her! Pausing for a moment the lynx thought to himself."That kid is there. Last thing I want is to kill him or put him at risk if I can avoid it...maybe a warning shot." He thought as he adjusted his aim for the dirt about a foot away from them. The wind blew gentle for a second picking up the sand adding to the eerie feeling the sands tend to present as the sun shone as it stick his scope giving of his iconic glint, a red glint for just a second as if the light reflected the scope like a crimson ruby. Then he fired a warning shot landing exactly a foot away from the approaching figure.

OOC: Yes, she wears a large vest. Also, waiting for the others to reply.
Eshe heard the warning shot, but didn't know what to think of it. She looked around, but didn't see anyone in plain sight. "Hello?" She called out. "Who are you? Where are you? ...What are you? Show yourself!" Eshe kept a staff raised, ready to cast a spell if need to, and yet she didn't dare. She couldn't see who this creature was. All she knew was that it had a gun, and that Eshe had no spell that she could use to deflect spells.

The Lynx smiled seeing how confused the hippo was, although he did wonder what a staff is going to. Perhaps maybe the head had gotten to her. Still it was clear she has no intention of running and had no idea where the shot had came from. "I guess it is time for another warning, this time make her realize who she is messing with."He thought to himself as he looked though the scope with those unnatural black eyes. Taking aim once again he decided to aim for that strange head crest she was wearing. "Just knock it off, that should give her the idea." he thought as he began to make adjustments for the wind and distance. Once again the red glint appeared, then the gunshot as the bullet went to knock off the strange hat the hippo wore.
Eshe was kind of startled when her headdress was shot off. She looked back at the headdress and noticed where it was on the ground, then looked over at the opposite way. That's where she saw Zarif. "Alright you little scoundrel! Don't you know who you're messing with?" Eshe didn't stare at Zarif. Instead, she averted her gaze and continued to look around. But the whole time, she was shaking her staff somewhat jitterily. "I am Eshe Tawar! Second class member of the circle of Tawaret. You better show yourself RIGHT NOW!" She started to wave her arms about inconspicuously.
Suddenly, a pair of mummies appeared behind Zafir, both were strange hippo-creatures like Eshe. Suddenly, one of them tried to grab Zafir's gun while the other tried to restrain Zafir. Eshe didn't know how far this diversion would go, but it DID give her enough time to cast a shield spell in the form of the lid of a strange sarcophagus, also harboring the same hippo theme. She couldn't do it when Zafir was focused on her because he could easily disrupt the spell with a shot. Guns were quicker than magic.

(umm you know Zarif was bit to far to actually be seen from right? I tried to make that one clear but this is fine since you could simply noticed the glint from his scope.)
The lynx's notices these monsters and could hardly believe as his eyes went back to their normal brown. But this didn't stop him from acting fast. Grabbing his bag he jumped right over the tower's side down below after leaving the mummies a present,a live grenade that soon went off destroying the tower. Landing on the ground the lynx took off in a silent blur leaving only a small cloud of dust where he landed as he vanished. Moving into a newer position underneath a arch, he saw the floating sarcophagus."This is some monster, I have to go for the kill now." He thought as he raised his rifle and his eyes going black once again. taking aim ,he scanned for a opening through the strange shield. He then noticed from the angle his is in now he can take a shot at the target's knee. He then took aim and fired before preparing to move again.

...But he missed. Eshe kept her eyes and ears open, hearing his movements. She then quickly swung the arm with the shield toward the side he fired from. The shield blocked the bullet, but the bullet destroyed the shield. "Look. I don't know what your bag is, but you have a lot of nerve firing a shot at a mother and her baby. Show yourself without your gun, now." Eshe tried to be careful not to say anything too rude and cocky, as she was worried about her son's safety. Still, she was a very proud creature, and didn't want to show any true weakness. "Who are you? Why are you trying to kill us? Show yourself, and explain to me what your MO is!"
"Mom, I don't like this place," the son said.
"...I don't either," Eshe responded to her son.
OOC: May I suggest no one gets hurt. It's a pet peeve of mine to have a character get hurt without dealing damage back.

(how about this we roll a die for events that can inflict harm on each other. roll a 10 sided die and you have to get above a 5 for it to count. also sorry for taking so long I was drawing blanks and after arrow msgd me I thought they was gonna respond)
The lynx did not respond as he observe the hippo's shouting. It was pretty clear she wanted him to expose himself unarmed. That wasn't happening especially thanks to the abilities this being possess. Who is to say the second he pokes his head up he can be ripped apart by some monster. Adjusting his rifle he started to zero in dead center into the hippo's chest reading to go in for a kill yet something stopped him from pulling the trigger. He could see the fear in
the child's eyes. He simply froze as he looked at the innocence of the child. He already knew what it is like to lose everything and he didn't want to cause the child the same suffering if it was possible to avoid. Sighing he slung his rifle over his shoulder and reached for the Ak-74u submachine gun. He then adjusted his scarf so it covered his face leaving only his eyes to be seen. As he grabbed his rifle the then once again took off at a great silent speed that he appeared invisible leaving only a small cloud of dust in his wake. Appearing behind the hippo he pressed the gun into her back. "Turn around or try anything special I will put you down. Now drop you weapon and hands where I can see them." He said in his through his Arabic accent. Despite his accent it was clear exactly how serious he was about shooting if Eshe tried anything.
