He turned to look at her as she brushed the hair from his eyes. "A loner? Why?"

He felt a stirring of sympathy. It was hard to be a loner--and yet it seemed he was bound to become one. His stomach dropped and churned at the thought and--if it were possible--his face paled.

"Ah shit." He dropped his head into his hands again.

Emily looked at him " Because my old boy friend was a vampire. He bite me and i went to my kingdom, They kicked me out and then i was almost killed before and hurt. So yeah "

Emily looked at him and then she killed a rabbit " here " She said giving it to him. " but if you wanted i cold help you out a little "

Kai eyed the rabbit warily. "What do you want me to do with it?" He preferred his meat cooked, but already he felt an inner change taking place. For a moment he stopped breathing, focused on keeping whatever was inside, locked away. But he had a nasty feeling it would surface eventually.

"I don't even know where to begin," Kai said miserably. "Vampire hunters are spread throughout; there isn't a village nearby who can't find or call for one."

Emily got another rabbit for herself and then grabbed it. " just do this " she bent down to the neck of the rabbit and her fangs cut into the neck. She drank the blood and pulled away. " I love- I mean I would love to help you "

Kai watched first in disgust, but then...he was enraptured. It was a strange feeling, one that happened suddenly. Disgust replaced with frenzy...

He looked down at the rabbit in his hands and shifted his grip. He turned it so that the neck was exposed and then he felt the fangs come in. He closed his eyes at the uncomfortable feeling and then once it eased, he followed her example.

He drained the rabbit dry. He felt a strange sort of life enter him while he drank, and it began to ebb when he finished. He wiped his mouth against his arm and saw the marks of blood. The taste of it in his mouth. It rejuvenated him. He smiled at Emily and realized he had yet to introduce himself.

"Thank you for the meal; my name's Kai."

Emily smiled and titled her head " nice to meet you Kai. I guess I have to leave. " she stood up and then she gave him a small kiss

The kiss surprised him, but he didn't pull away. He grabbed her arm before she could leave or shapeshift and fly away.

"Why do you have to leave? Where will you go?" If a pleading note entered his tone, it was only because he was desperately looking for some answers. Whatever they may be.

Emily looked at him " here is not safe for me. At this moment i am the one they will want for saving your life and me kissing you. " She said as she looked into his eyes " i will go and i guess live or die "

"And it's supposed to be safe for me?" Kai retorted sharply. He shook his head and looked down at himself. A vampire hunter, now literally just that. "I'm going with you. Or die trying."

Emily hissed and then said " very well then. " she stood up and helped him up and then started walking

Kai followed. "So, um, do you have a particular destination in mind?" he asked. "Because I know for a fact that the next two villages north of here have vampire hunters in them."

His hands tingled and he looked down at the crystal she had given him. He found the chain that had once held the cross pendant and now he looped it around the crystal to wear around his neck. Of course, the fang marks still tingled slightly.

Emily kept her eyes forward and said " that's it we will go to the north in the villages ". She would not tell him that she had to die soon if not the humans would all die

"Are you crazy?" Kai asked her. "My, er, associates are working there. Even if they don't recognize you for what you are...there's no way they wouldn't...find out about me."

The years of studying he put into becoming a vampire hunter told him exactly how he'd be found out by his former friends. If it wasn't the playful jab with a stake or a bucket of holy water being dumped on him, it would be some sort of religious symbol. And for that matter...they'd probably hide it somewhere. Vampire hunting was not easy and all too many of them fell prey to the creatures they hunted.

"I can't let you do that," Kai said. "We'll go South, or East, or West. Anywhere but North. Please?" But if she insisted, he would go. He owed her that much.

Emily rose her hand up as a queen would do and a little went off. Thee crystal snapped free from his neck and then went to her. Her eyes looked at it pressing it to her lips and gently kissed it. Kai's fang marks started to glow and cause pain

She turned to him " I make my desicions. I have a reason to go " she said as she removed the crystal from her soft, red lips and tossed it to him " careful " she said as she started to walk away. Kai had never seen her real form. Only an outfit but could she really show herself?

The snap of the chain as the crystal broke free of it, surprised Kai. But then he was busy clenching his jaw as pain blossomed from his newly-developed fangs.

"But...why?" His jaw felt stiff and it might have creaked when he spoke. He caught the crystal she threw back to him and looked down at it. He couldn't let her go back there, alone. But would he be any protection? He resolved to do his best. "Then I'll come with you."

Emily looked at him and the said " I cant let you " Her eyes looked into his. It was the way she looked at her boy friend. The one she loved, cared, and wanted to be safe. Her eyes watched his eyes and then she felt as if he was her boy friend. " I-I " She could not say the rest before she grabbed his hand

Kai sensed the change come over her before he realized what it was. That look she gave him, of searching, of desire, of want. He couldn't resist it; why should he?

He flinched when she grabbed his hand, half expecting claws to rip into his flesh again--but when no pain followed, and her closeness became intoxicating to him, he acted on sheer impulse.

He leaned forward until his lips met hers....and braced himself for the worst.

Emily did what he wanted. She leaned in and kissed him softly. She never wanted this moment to end. It was as if she was a human again. Beuatiful graceful, perfect, and lovable. But ever sense she got bitten people called her other things. More wanted to put a stake through her heart. She kept kissing. Her eyes meet his but then she closed them

Feeling her respond to his kiss, Kai smiled and then gently pulled back. "S-sorry," he said after a moment. "I-I should have asked."

Internally it was revolution. But the vampire aspect had full hold of Kai now and he wasn't going anywhere this exotic vampire before him wasn't going.

Emily nodded and turned her head away "Sorry too " She turned into a snake and slivered in the bushes. She went fast and he probaly could see she was angry. She went into the North direction knowing where she had to go. She heard whisperes and knew where they were. " Kai its time you leave " She hissed angirly
