He hadn't expected her to run quite so fast. Er, slither, perhaps. He muttered under his breath about flighty women and then pursued her. Ignoring her cautionary words. He knew where she was heading--and it wouldn't be easy for him to run around unnoticed.

And if he did, he'd draw even more attention to himself. Ho boy, the things he got himself into.

Emily hissed at him " it's time you go! " she said turning into a human " I can't let you stay here any longer. " her eyes filled with tears but she held them back. She looked at the crystal and tool it softly off him. She lifted " part of me. The part I was to you " she raised
It up and threw it to the ground and it shattered.

It was too much for Kai. He'd seen too many things shattered. His life for one. The crucifex for another. And now the crystal. His bond with Emily....whatever had been between them.

He sank down to his knees, broken, defeated. There was nowhere else for him to go but North. Especially if Emily was set on leaving him. And he knew that the Hunters were good at their jobs. They would end his life painlessly.

(ooc: this has been remarkably helpful to me for figuring out Kai's backstory--thank you so much! *plotbunny attacks*)

Emily looked at him and helped him up. That one look and then do something amazing. A small crystal formed around Kai's neck and it was on the same string. Her eyes were soft and kissed his forehead before turning away. Her eyes looked at the dark forest. " stay here. You will see me later " she said as she walked into the dark forest. There was a vampire figure that attacked her and she vanished

(no worries--he's not slated to die just yet. xD)

Kai fingered the crystal once again, confused, and he looked up just in time to see her vanish. Had that been another vampire? Adrenaline surged but he remembered her words.

Stay here? Yeah right. He at least wanted to check that she was okay. Keeping to stealth he followed the direction he'd seen her vanished too. But he wasn't planning on going far, maybe two hundred feet before stopping to listen for sounds of fighting.

Emily bared her sharp fangs as she was thrown into a tree and her head was cut making blood come. Her opponet was fast, quick, strong, and i kind she had never seen. She had nothing to do but wait for the thing to finish and let her stay there. She was hit with a quick blow and she fell backwards onto the ground where the vampire got on top of her and got ready to bite her

Kai didn't think; there was no time for it anyway. He barreled straight into the creature, knocking it away from Emily except for the fact that he clung to it.

And as soon as they were free, he buried his fangs into the creature's neck. Not so much to drink it dry--though once he had a taste of the blood it did occur to him--but for purchase should it flail about and try to rip him off--as it undoubtedly would.

Emily laid there but her eyes flickered open. As she saw Kai with the beast she limped and tryed to walk to them. Her eyes turned red and she got enough energy to turn into a dragon and set the creature on fire not hurting Kai but killing the creature/vampire. She turned into a vampire and fell to the ground. She was bleeding, ingured, and laying uncousions

Nothing could describe the weirdness of being on a creature set on fire...and not being burned. Kai dropped and rolled off the creature, running to Emily's side when she collapsed. He carefully put a hand to her neck, to feel for her pulse before cursing. She was a vampire. She wouldn't have a pulse.

"Emily? Emily!" Well, no choice for it now, he had to find some way to revive her. A blood transfusion...would it even work? It was the only thing that came to him. He gritted his teeth as he took the crystal around his neck and found a sharp edge to it. Trying not to think about it, he slit his arm and tried to dribble some of the blood into her mouth.

If it didn't work...he'd have to carry her into town. And pray that the vampire hunters didn't get them first.

Emily laid their only to show the crystal lighting up. The words rang through Kai's head * That is how much a love you. * But another set of words came * Its no use let me die. *

"You're not going to die..." Kai growled. He set his crystal now slightly bloodstained next to hers. "Whatever magical gift you have, you better not die. Or so help me, I will drain your body and take it for myself."

He wasn't sure what would get a rise out of her, but he hoped something would stir her. "Someone of royalty wouldn't die like this," he added bitterly and leaned over her. "Please," he whispered, "I'll do anything for you. Just live." He sealed his promise with a kiss.

Emily laid still for a moment but then her body was covered by a lit glow. Jer eyes flickered open but she dissappered.

She came from the trees still having blood from her wounds on her body. She then twirled like she was never hurt into a long silky dress " you believed " is what she said before walking onto the ground making flowers appear behind her. She was not a queen she was a godess. " you were smart. Not queen should ever die that way. " She stopped glowing and returned into her black outfit. She looked at him and hugged him.

His surprise was fleeting, as his happiness that she was alive flooded through him. He hugged her back, squeezing as though making sure she was still...there.

"I'm so glad," he said, emotion making it hard to speak.

Emily pulled away from him and then smiled " i thought i lost you too. My name is Venus but call me Emily. " Her eyes were blue like they were meant to be. Her hair was purple and her smile was a real one. She then laid down " but in my world i like Emily better "

He blinked and withdrew from her slightly. "What...what are you then? Really?" he asked.

Emily looked " A vampire but you know its just complicated. I am a vampire. I have to kill one person and then i will be a vampire again "

"How did you get out of being a vampire?" Kai asked suddenly. "How? What do you mean you have to kill a person to become one?"

His intensity ratcheted upwards, as he sought a light in the maelstrom of blackness and blood.

Emily looked at him " i am one but they think i am a vampire. " She caught a bird and smashed it. She fell to the floor but to awake. " Shall we go "

"So you're not a vampire?" He rubbed the fang marks on his neck wearily. "I don't understand." He flinched at her suddenly violent nature and resigned himself to following her.

Whatever she was, she might have an answer to his problem. Shape shifter or no. "Are you still planning on heading north?"

Emily nodded her head " yes, I still have to d-- I mean business "
