Chris shook his head. "You two cars should rest. I'll be inside and if anything happens--I'm sure I'll hear it. Try not to kill each other at daybreak?"
And he went inside, leaving Clutch to idle for a moment. "Well, I suppose that's that," Clutch said.

CD wavers and fell asleep, hood opening to cover her eyes as she shut down for the night. Her tires leaned down so she slumped down a bit, 'snoring' loudly. Her core beeped dimly, slowed enough to only move CD's eyes while she was asleep. She was out cold soon enough, but her right door would open occasionly by itself, then shutm then open...Following her loud snore.

Clutch simply turned off. He didn't have the capacity in his battery to idle all night, and he didn't want to waste his gas either. So he settled with a sigh, checked the AI sensor which pinged softly with dual notes to indicate CD and 54's closeness, and then allowed his engine to stop.
Inside, Chris got ready for bed as well; scrubbing off the grease and oil he could find, before climbing into bed. He envied the cars for being able to switch into sleep mode like his computer. He lay awake for some time, thinking about what he could do tomorrow.

Chris ould easily hear CD's snoring, coming from her speakers that were still on. Her engine would rattle too, then the door would slam shut. The process wold repeat constantly in the nnight. Poor 54 got woke up as a result, but was too dazed to say much and ended up shutting down again, but still barelly awake.
Clutch slept soundly through the night; his detectors and sensors off. Nothing would wake him but for a turn of the key in his ignition.
Chris was another matter. He tossed and turned for most of the night before finally dropping off into an exhausted sleep.

CD eventually piped down until she was out cold asleep. Being that her speakers finally shut off and muted her snoring.
54 stayed barely awake, just enough so her vision was blurred badly. To her anything was a blur of speed and height.

Bill was up first; no surprise given that races often held in the afternoon required morning tune ups and he was often called for such things. He began a pot of coffee before heading outside to check on CD, Clutch, and 54. The first two he wasn't too worried about; the latter he wanted to just make sure was alright.
Smelling coffee brewing, Chris woke up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Maybe today, if CD and Clutch were up to it, they'd head out to the racetrack to try out their paces. He hurriedly dressed and ran down the stairs.
Clutch, for his part, remained off.

CD was still out cold asleep, but her built-in turn on system was biting out at her core to wake up right then and there without delay. Slowly but surely she turned on herself, stirring lazily and drowzily and somewhat sluggishly as her engine hummed to life. Her cameras turned on and scanned her surroundings, detecting it was day once more. She stirred again, opening her brown eyes a bit and looking around.
54 was still awake, but her engine had overheated due to having been kept up all night. ''Mrrff....'' She choked, not even moving from where she had parked, blue eyes barely opened. A bit of smoke drifted out of the hood; Only smoke from a tired engine and overworked core. ''Why must CD snore..?'' She grumbled, dazed.

Bill caught the smoke trailing from 54's hood and grabbing the nearest fire extinguisher, doused her hood with flame retardant. "Didn't you turn off?" he asked 54. "On a completely different note--I didn't know cars could snore."
Chris stumbled out to the garage with a piece of toast in his mouth, just in time to catch his father with the fire extinguisher. He went to turn on Clutch, letting the car warm up
"Did you sleep alright, CD?" Chris asked as Clutch began booting up his systems.

''CD's....Snoring kept me...Awake.....'' 54 muttered.
CD nods, wide awake. ''How about you, Chris?'' She asked. ''And why does your dad have a fire extinguisher..?''

"I slept okay." He grinned at her question. "I was going to ask you the same thing."
But Bill wasn't going to be much longer anyway. He lowered the fire extinguisher and then popped 54's hood to check on the damage done by overheating. A few wires here, a few wires there, nothing too serious it seemed, given she was still communicative.
"Well, I was planning on bringing you all to the race track today," said Bill, "but if that's too much excitement...then we can put it off until-"
"What? Racetrack?!" Clutch interrupted, warmed up and ready. "I wanna go!"

''Sounds fun!'' CD piped up.
54 just groaned, still barely awake. ''Mrrff....'' She replied, tired.

Bill shook his head. "You want to come or stay behind, 54? You might get some sleep if I take CD and Clutch away." He hesitated briefly though, wondering if he'd have a garage to come back to afterward.
"On second thought; Chris, why don't you take them? I'll stay here at the house. The race track doesn't really need me down there for their silly tune ups."
Chris stared at his father. "Really? Me? Help the racers? Awesome! Thanks, dad." He ran to give his father a hug and then raced back to CD and Clutch. "Alright, who's up for going?"

''I'll...Stay behind...'' 54 choked, passing out to sleep again.
''I'll go!'' CD inquired, engine revving up anxiously. She hadn't been to a racetrack before, but had dreamt of going ever since she had been created. She loved to go fast. That is, if her brakes were in good working order. Speed was everything to her, being a now retired spy car. She looks at Clutch afterwards.

"Alright then," Chris replied. "Um, which car should I ride in? Clutch, maybe you should lead so you can show her the way to the racetrack. It'll be easier that way and I can keep her from getting lost if we lose you."
Clutch was silent a moment. "...You're not going to ride with me?"
"It makes more sense for me to ride with CD. Then I'll switch off if that makes you feel any better."
Clutch grumbled something under his breath about "cheating on your first car" before revving his engine. "Fine, but if I win at the races, you ride with me forever."

''Urrm...Please don't fuss over me...'' CD squeaked nervously. ''I don't have built in GPS things like you do, Clutch.''
"Fine then, stick close." Clutch sighed and backed out of the garage--narrowly missing 54 at the last second when his sensor beeped to indicate an impending collision.
Chris shook his head and got into CD. "Don't worry about Clutch. He'll get over it soon enough once he hits the racetracks. Anyway, see if you can follow him. Unless we've already lost him, then I'll direct you to the track myself."

CD backs out aswell carefully, then follows Clutch silently, engine humming. ''Could you just imagine if he had hit 54? Silent revenge, I guess.'' She inquired, keeping sight of Clutch. ''Or a gunfight.''
Chris laughed. "Flat tires and more whining, more like. But he knows better than to hit something on purpose. I don't fix him for two weeks and he hates driving around with a dented fender."
He winced as he kept an eye on Clutch who was weaving between cars like no tomorrow. "So help me, if he gets another dent; I'm not going to fix it for a month."

CD sped up slightly, trying to keep sight of Clutch. She lost sight of him...And lightly hit a trucks backside, blaring her horn agryly.
