Clutch would have jumped had he been human; instead his rpm's raced.

"Oh, you're awake? N-nothing. Just that I'm out of window washer fluid. Again. Chris never keeps me top offed like I keep telling him to. Does CD always make such a racket? I am so glad I turn off at night if that's what I'd have to put up with all night long."

''She's made that racket ever since her sleep gear got disabled. I can't sleep when she snores...'' 54 replied, dazed. ''All my gear is gone...Everything...''

"Sleep gear? Is that like Reverse, Neutral, and Drive? Also, maybe if you tell Chris about it, he can fix it. Because that's a horrible racket."

Clutch rolled his windows up as though hoping to block out the sound; but it did no good.

''Sleep gear is a code in a core that shuts her down fully. After spies attacked her and tore her headlight off, she broke it so no one could sneak up onto her again.''

"Ouch," Clutch muttered, flashing his lights to make sure they still worked. "I guess I'm glad I wasn't on the front lines. I'd hate to scratch my paint. Or get bullet holes in my frame. The most I have to worry about is getting carjacked--but then I take them on a ride they'll never forget. Ending, of course, at the local police station." He cackled, envisioning the scene that he had yet to try.

"Does your sleep gear not work? Or do you just not sleep?"

''Mine is worn out, because my sister snores too loud for me to stay asleep. Wher am I?'' Still dazed, it seemed.

Clutch paused. "You're kidding, right? Where else would we be? We're in the Sanders' Garage, home of the AI repair shop. Did you forget--or did you reset yourself?"

He was pondering whether he should wake up Chris, but held off for the moment. A rare moment of foresight occurring as Clutch remembered the last time he'd done so Chris had waited until midnight to work on his coding.

She yawned lazily, and fell asleep. But CD sneezed and 54 jolted awake, backfiring loudly.

Clutch laughed and then stifled it. Well, tried. His engine revved with his amusement. "Maybe in the morning Chris can fix CD so she doesn't snore."

54 was shooken badly, and stayed awake, core trembling lightly. ''Meep..'' She said, cameras out, shattered from backfiring.

Chris was woken from a sound sleep by the sound of a backfire. And he sighed as he stared blearily at the clock. "Ugh. I should wait til morning..."

But knowing and fearing the worst, he decided that he should at least go check on the cars. He stumbled down the stairs, not bothering to turn on lights, as he opened the door to the garage and peered out.

At least everything seemed to be still standing. That was something. And the door and walls were in one piece. "Is everything okay?" he called sleepily into the garage.

CD jerked awake at hearing Chris, her gun firing blindly. The bullet hit Clutch's tire, and then hit 54's boot.

54 freaked, her horn blaring loudly in distress.

Chris jumped and bit back a yell. Clutch, however, blasted his horn.

"Y-you shot me! Why would you shoot me!?"

Chris sighed. He should have stayed in bed. "I'm going back to sleep..." Maybe all this was a horrible nightmare. He could only hope.

"What? You can't go back to sleep! I have a flat tire now and possibly some rim damage and-"

The door slammed shut as Chris headed back to bed. It could definitely wait until morning.

CD sighed. ''S..sorry. I heard someone speak close to me and...I freaked....'' And she fell asleep again.

54 had a panic attack, engine rattling loudly.

Clutch sighed. "I'm gonna have Chris dismantle you too, CD. That's the last time I want to get shot. Don't you have an alarm system other than shooting first and asking questions later?"

He rolled carefully forward, feeling his sensor beep indicating his tire was losing pressure.

CD stirred awake and sounded her alarm system. Which sounded like gunfire,screams,and an explosion. So loud it rattled the garage. She loked at Clutch as it sounded, looking tired.

54 lost it and shut down, scared badly and terrified.

Clutch cackled at the alarm, even as the door to the house busted open, revealing Bill in his boxers and Chris once more in his pajamas.

"What in carnation is going on down here?" Bill demanded. "It's three in the morning! If I have to dismantle all of you to get a decent night's sleep, I'll do it."

Clutch flashed his headlights. "Hey, CD, you actually scared 54 for once."

CD looked at Bill and Chris, her alarm silencing instantly. ''Clutch.....'' She said sternly, rolling back slightly.

54 was out cold, silenced.

''Clutch is saying I should get dismantled just because I shot his tire after Chris startled me...'' CD said, tired, battery starting to go out.

Bill shot a glare at Clutch. "Outside, now, Clutch."

"What? But I have a hole in my tire! And the pressure is low and I don't want to damage my--"

"Out!" Bill bellowed, and Clutch meekly rolled his way out, flat tire and all. "Thank you. CD, please try not to shoot any more bullets. Nothing around you is going to attack. And no one is going to mess with you, let alone in my garage." He took a deep breath and then rubbed his eyes. "I'm going back to bed. 54, if you want some peace and quiet, there's the junk yard out back. Nothing moves around out there, and it'll be quieter than CD's snoring."

CD just looked blankly, too tired to respond otherwise, which could make one think she was ignoring Bill.

54 was silenced still, core trembling in it's hold.
