Well, silence was more or less what Bill wanted. So he turned to Chris. "I'm going back to sleep; I suggest you do the same, because the driver of the WRX is coming back tomorrow for his car."
Chris nodded. "Okay. G'night."
Clutch grumbled outside, where his tire was flattened to the pavement.

CD yawned and dozed off.
54 awoke and fled outside quickly. But without her cameras she crashed into a wall outside. But only at daybreak would one find the crippled car upside down in a ditch. The bullet earlier had broken the boot she had.

Clutch flinched when a car zoomed past him and then crashed. He stayed where he was before recalling that that was either 54 or CD as it had come from within the garage. He sighed and ignored the beeping sensor as he went to investigate the problem.
"Hello? Is anyone around here? Did you crash on purpose?"
"Hello? Is anyone around here? Did you crash on purpose?"
Soon enough he could see the upside down ferrari in the ditch near the wall. The core was in the grass, but the car looked totaled.
Not having eyes, Clutch sighed when he heard no response. There was nothing for him to do about it; he couldn't get too close without wrecking himself.
"Oh well, guess I'll take Chris tomorrow." He rolled his way gently back to the garage, wincing as he heard the rim dragging against the pavement. He really hoped he hadn't cracked it.

54s core starts to beep loudly, disconnected from the vechicle. Smoke was starting to pour out from the crashed car, before it exploded, sending a fireball skywards.
When morning finally arrived, Chris was hailed by Clutch's beeping.
"54 got out last night and crashed into a ditch. I need your help to fix my tire so I can go get her." Clutch didn't even pause for breath so that it came out as a string of syllables.
Chris sighed. "Fine. Let me look at your tire." He changed the tire easily enough, not commenting on the worn condition of the rim. "Let's go."
They made quick work of getting to 54's location...and Chris stared down at the charred vehicle. "I'm so not being paid enough for this. Forget the vehicle. We'll just transfer her into the WRX."
He collected the core, using his shirt to protect his hands from direct contact, and then headed back to the garage.

The core crackles loudly, the ferarri burned until only the frame was left behind.
CD stirs awake after hearing the explosion. She glanced to her side and saw 54 was missing, the boot still in place. ''Where's 54092?'' She shouted.

Chris winced as he entered with 54's core in hand. "54092 is currently incapacitated. She blew up outside. Thank God she wasn't in the garage. So now she's being tossed into the WRX."
He clambered past CD and over to the WRX where he hooked up a boot to the tire--just to make sure she wouldn't be going anywhere. And then wired in the core. "There. That should hold her for now."

The core surges through the WRX, and the speakers blast out static.
CD cringes. ''Exploded? Was that what I heard? Wasn't the person supposed to pick that car up today?''

Chris scowled. "Yes, but-" he cringed as static blasted through the WRX. "-at this rate he'll have better luck of taming 54 than the rest of us. I hope he doesn't mind."
''So we just abandon 54, like her first owner did..?''
Chris sighed. "It's not abandoning...but I guess I can see how that might look. Alright, fine. 54--what do you want us to do? If you insist on putting up a fight, we can't do anything with you but let you take up space. If you calm down, we can at least do something about. Though at the moment we don't have a spare car to put you in."
The speakers blasted static again, as the radio knob turned to attempt to tune to the core before finally suceeding. ''Exploded? I EXPLODED?!'' 54's staticy voice said, sounding upset and also cranky.
"Yes! You know why? Because you can't control your computer-programmed emotions! If you don't watch yourself, you're going to make the same mistake this time as you did last time to explode and I won't be able to fix you ever--because I won't have another car to put you in." Chris paused for breath. "Am I clear?"
Maybe he was turning into his dad after all. But then, AIs did tend to bring out the worst in mechanics.

''I heard you saying you were going to make the owner of this car put up with me. Do you know how hard it is to cope with these deals of losing everything you managed to accomplish? One minute your a hotrod and the next your nothing but a lone core without a weapon. My emotions were well built to a standard that few AIs could have. Sentience.'' She hissed back. ''But fine. Yes, I understand.'' She sneered, still staticy.
Chris sighed and softened a little. "I don't know and I can't imagine, 54. I'm sorry if I came across that way. I guess it was rude of me. I won't force you on the guy who's coming to pick up his car...but that does leave us with the problem of where you're going to stay."
He glanced at CD and then at Clutch. "You might be able to integrate with CD again, if she'll have you. If not, Clutch has a separate core that won't fix to you. So that could be temporary home."

''I'd rather settle with not causing a nuclear reaction betweem my sister.'' She hissed. ''And I'm pretty much blind for now.''
"Well, so is Clutch. He can teach you the system though, so that might be best if you start with him. Just ignore most of what he says though; he tends to talk too much and get himself into trouble." Chris rolled his eyes.
''Eh, he'l learn one thing. My core turns cold if agitated.''
