Bender Of Iron Will leaned backwards on his chair, stretching his left arm."Best if ya leave the spice out of yer meal, mate." He chuckled, finding himself hilarious. He looked around a bit and noticed the bald armored man eating a very juicy chicken leg."I'll have what him's havin'!" He yelled at the bartender as he pointed towards the armored man, who looked up at Bender with a frown.
Arien shook his head, grinning from ear to ear. He had lucked out, not finding just one person, but two that enjoyed his antics.
"Nice to meet you, Flavio, I'm Arien." He winced as Bender bellowed his order across the bar and clapped the man on the shoulder--his left one. "It might help to ask nicely lest..." he trailed off and then facepalmed. "Ye gads, I'm turning into a respectable man..." Turning to the bartender he held up two fingers. "Make that two!"

Flavio snickered once more and held up three fingers, mimicking Arien. "Make it three." The hyena wasted no time in lowering two fingers and using the remaining one to point at the trapper sitting across of him. "T'is on him."
As soon as the bartender was away to set about their orders he leaned back in his chair and regarded the two in turn. "So who are you two?" He laid a hand on his chest. "My name is Flavio, budding musketeer and almost a man of honor!" As usual a chuckle followed his words, if not for his species the hyena seemed a pretty jolly sort.

Bender Of Iron Will leaned forward, leaning his massive arm on his knee."I'm nothin' special. Just a sea captain with a broken down ship 'n no crew. Used to be that I was a man o' great fortune. Sailin' the seas, looking for riches everywhere we went and how we got it was no concern o' ours." He said proudly. With that instigated he was actualy a pirate. But there's no way he'd admit that openly.let's see which one o' these men is the smarter one and gets it. He thought to himself."I'm also a bit of a tinkerer with steel. Sad thing is there's no smithy in this place. I'm runnin' out o' iron."
Arien chuckled. "Me? I'm an aimless wanderer searching for a good time. Well, technically I'm a tracker and trapper, but..." he shrugged. "I could use a bit of fun."
"If you're lookin' for a smithy, I think there's one in the other part of town. I'd show you, but the taverns there all know my face." He rolled his eyes.
"You're not a swordsman, are you?" He moved the elbow of his left hand to reveal a hilt set at his waist; though probably the only thing they might see was the blue sapphire set on the pommel.

The hyena was distracted for a moment, eying the food on the next table he couldn't wait until he got his. At hearing Bender though his grin returns and the hyena taps him on the shoulder. "Ah. Such things tend to happen in the 'trade'." His green eyes jumped to Arien for an instant, then back at Bender with hidden meaning in his eyes.
"I have a sword." Flavio voiced up, glad to change the subject. He rose a little and pushed part of his cape away to reveal the handle of a rapier. "But I prefer the musket." And at this he pulled a strap that ran across his chest, which caused a strange square-shaped bulge to rise from under his caped.

The sea captain grinned widely. The hyena figured it out, and he was probably in the same business as Bender was."Aye. Unfortunately it does. But I'll manage. I've done so for 'bout twenty years now."
When Arien asked his question, Bender had only an eye for the sapphire on the blade's pommel."Lad, that looks valuable." He laughs loudly."If yer ever considerin' on selling that, I'm yer guy. But to answer yer question, aye, I've got me a sword, laddy. a sabre to be exact." He threw his green cloak aside which would reveal the holster strapped to his wide belt. The handle was made of what looked like pure gold, with a long neat curl in which to slide a hand in between. The side of the handle where the blade began was encrusted in dark red rubies en black shining hemalites. He pulled the blade out partially to show the pure white steel of the sabre, showing no scratches."A sabre fit for a king, lads. I even think this once beloned to one." He bragged proudly."I've named her Siren's Fury."
Once Flavio mentioned him prefering a musket he couldn't help but grin."You and I are more alike than I'd ever dare think, lad." He turned himself away from the gaze from the rest of the tavern owners, drawing his pistol and placing it on the table. It didn't look ordinary. The handle of the pistol had been modified with copper which made it wider. Obviously for Bender to have a better grip with his giant hands. The barrel had also been improved and was made longer."I ain't figured out a name for this beauty yet. She's innacurate, she's clumsy, she takes a long time to shoot, but she's still my pride. One day I'll make her perfect." he explained proudly.

[heh, boys and their toys...]
Arien glanced between the two, obviously not catching on. He grinned, though his eyes sharpened when Bender commented on the value. "It isn't for sale; never will be, but it does the trick." Then he was intrigued by the others pulling out their weapons. The sabre and rapier made him drool, just thinking about a match.
The musket and the pistol were things he wasn't familiar with. To be honest, in his mind they looked rather...inadequate; neither being quite as powerful as a longbow or a crossbow, and the musket didn't have a keen edge. "How do they work?" he asked, glancing up at Bender and then Flavio.

Flavio shifted uneasily in their seats, pulling out weapons was not the best course of action if one wanted to avoid trouble. The hyena's ears flicked, each in turn, picking up hushed conversations to make certain nobody was listening in.
"Hardly.." The hyena snickered. "I'll show you sometime. Suffice it to say it takes longer to load than a crossbow and shooting straight is not assured." He leaned back and went silent when a springy red-haired lad headed towards them with two plates, a similiary haired lass followed close behind with the remaining one. Wordlessly Flavio's eyes travelled down to the pistol and then fixed meaningfully on Bender, it wouldn't do if they saw something like this laying on the table.

With a swift movement Bender retrieved the weapon from the table and hung it from his belt. He was no idiot. A gun in a tavern was asking for a fight with the guards."That's a shame, lad." He said to Arien whilest the two red haired people brought in the food."I bet you I could made you at least a good five hundred golden coins for that." He tried to make sure that the two red haired people would not think that he was carrying a gun. But springy boy did saw a glimpse of it.
"uhh... what was that..." The boy wanted to ask. Bender took a look a look at him and laughed."Aye lad, that was the most wonderful piece o' junk you've ever seen. Found it fishin'." He said in a bit of a drunk way as he almost immediatly started eating. Luckilly the boy was not that smart and nodded as he left. Bender Of Iron Will eyed both Arien and Flavio."I think it's best we leave after lunch. They'll be askin' questions sooner or later." He spoke softly.

Arien glanced at the lass, a wry smile crossing his features as she placed the food before him. "Thank you, miss," he said with a wink--distracting her from the gun she might or might not have seen. And then he looked down at the food before him, before looking back at her. "I can't believe your talent is wasted here; such perfect platesmanship..." The lass flushed and hurried away.
Arien pulled out a second vial of the familiar red liquid that the Hyena had tasted earlier, and dumped the entire contents on his chicken. The hot pepper smell may or may not have overwhelmed the immediate vicinity. "I agree we should probably leave, " he said. "And perhaps you can show me how your weapons work on the way.

Flavio took the leg in the blink of an eye and starting devouring it. His powerful hyena jaws bit through the bone as easily as through the flesh and so it crunched loudly as he ate. The hyena gave a nod at Bender, too busy eating to respond.
The musketeer clevelry moved his plate a bit to the side when Arien poured his 'poison' all over his own food. He surely wanted none of that no more.

Bender Of Iron Will grinned widely."Boy, yer goin' to burn yer insides with that much of that hellish goo." He said with a mouthfull, wanting to finish his eating quickly. He was eating wildly and rather messy.
"Now that ya mention it. No one's goin' to stop us if we're on my ship. A captain has his own rules there." He explained, grinning wickedly."Me ship is half broken down, sure, but it's still standin', makes for some fun sword fightin' if ya ask me, never knowing when you'll land into the belly o( the ship. Let's head there once yer both done stuffin' yer faces." He offered.

Arien snorted. "Burn my insides? My friend, this stuff doesn't mask the flavor--it enhances the flavor."
At the mention of heading to the ship, he perked up. "Are we sailing or sword-fighting? Either way, I'm game." He devoured his chicken leg with gusto and then sat back with a sigh. His plate was clean. "Ah, that was good."

Flavio crushed the last bone and swallowed, nothing remained of the chicken, not a piece of bone or flesh, everything he'd gotten had been devoured. "Ahehe. Sounds like a joyful plan, sparring in a town is not always a good idea..." The hyena grinned. "And gunpowder is loud..."
Now that the musketeer had finished he kept an eye out for trouble, a habit he'd picked up over the years. His ears swiveled at every odd sound, and he regarded everyone in turn.

Bender Of Iron Will raised a brow at Arien."Sure, call it whatever ya like, lad." He said as he finished his chicken leg."You want?" He asked as he placed the bare bone of the chicken of Flavio's plate."Now let's get goin'. Pay up, lad."
After whoever payed for the meal, the three left the tavern. The tavern keeper didn't feel the need to wish them a good day. He just stood there cleaning his mugs and pretending he didn't see them.
Outside it was still windy as hell, but that didn't stop the sailors and other workers from doing their jobs. The streets of Sailor's Home were crowded with both workers and crates."Me ship's a lil' further." Bender said while looking over his shoulder, making sure he didn't lose the two.
After a short walk, Bender's ship could already been seen. It was about half the size of a war galley but looked very simular to one. The pointed bow, the high raised area where the steering wheel was found, it was all there. Bender held his arms up proudly."Behold the glory of what used to be the The Moneymaker."
'what used to be' was right. The ship was still floating, but it was riddled with holes and gashes. The two sails had been removed and one of the poles on which the sail hung was torn in half. Whatever attacked this ship was huge. Out of the two rows of cannon placements poked a few of the cannos out. Each cannon had been upgraded though. Most of them had a visor made out of copper sticking out of them.
"Ain't much after the attack, but she still floats." Bender said as he grabbed a wooden plank to board the ship."Don't mind the holes on the deck, lads. I fell through so many times I don't care count." The wind made the trip on top of the deck rather difficult.
The deck was clean enough, but indeed, it was riddled with man sized holes. On deck were only a few crates which also seemed to have endured alot.

Arien paid readily enough for their meals and then followed them outside. His eyes lit up immediately upon seeing the worn and obviously loved ship. "Wow," he said, his eyes flickering everywhere, taking in the holes, the broken mast and the sails.
"And I thought rowing was bad." He peered down into one of the mansized holes and then knelt down to get a better look. "Is there anything down below? For that matter, how far down does it go?"
Mentally he was deciding where to place traps or what to do if he accidentally fell down one of those holes.

Flavio devoured the bone with gusto, and if Arien hadn't eaten his the hyena wouldn't shy from gathering them. He didn't eat these immediately though, no telling how deep his 'poison' seeped. But he'd slip them in his pocket for later.
Most of the way the hyena just padded along silently, but when he laid his green gaze upon the 'ship', he started chucking like had before. "Where's the ship? Is it somewhere behind that pile of driftwood?" The musketeer slapped his knees as he cackled at his own joke, likely the only one who found it funny.

Bender Of Iron Will took a look down one of his mansized holes."If ya drop down you'll either be a lucky sod and drop into a bunk bed, or yer goin' to drop straight into the war deck, where all the weaponry 'n cannons are stored. If yer even more unlucky and drop down yet 'nother hole, you'll have to swim yer way out. The storage area 's filled with water. If it wasn't so shallow 'ere we'd have sunk by now. It ain't much of a drop though. About 4 meters, enough to break a bone, but not enough to die." He explained, not too proud of all that was wrong with his ship.
Flavio's comment however made Bender boil. The mountain glared angrilly towards the hyena and walked over to him."You worthless sod! How dare you judge my ship!? Sure, she's seen better days, but I'll have ya know this 'driftwood' as ya call it used to make merchants and soldiers alike shit themselves!" He yelled in his face, prodding him with his steel finger." I welcome you on my home and this is the thanks I get!? I don't suppose you've got yerself a better ship, do ya?"

Now carefully minding the holes, Arien sighed as Bender took exception to the joke. He found it funny, snickering briefly before going to break up the fight before push came to shove.
"Come on, guys; let's not fight. Although if the bottom's filled with water...won't that affect its seaworthiness?" Suddenly that idea of going sailing seemed less promising. "Maybe we can fix it up, though. Just need some wood. Er, make that a lot of wood."
