Hello there.
I stumbled upon the Repository a few days ago and finally plucked up the courage and plumes to join. Still familiarising myself with the coding methods here as well as very unique culture!
Despite my username, I probably won't be roleplaying as animals of any sort, heh heh. I'm into Fantasy roleplays, particularly those of fellowship and adventures. Lately I've been curious about trying an Eastern Mythology idea akin to Fushigi Yugi (secondhand knowledge from 'otaku' friend).
My writing is between one to three paragraphs (100 words or so) in third-person narration. Please don't write more than five paragraphs if we're roleplaying unless it's just the starter. I've attention issues and am susceptible to pressure. Consider me a casual-among-casual roleplayer!

I hear ya on the paragraphs. lol I struggle with that sometimes. I have been in a few RPs where it's like 10 paragraphs every post and with 8 players I struggle to keep up. Then I post with like 4-5 paragraphs and feel like I am stifling the style or something. lol

Welcome to RPR and we hope you're having a fantastic time. The fantasy genre is especially one of the most famous RP genres all around along with romance. If you're looking for RP, there's a forum for it and it's a great way to find amazing partners! We all welcome you to the friendliest RP site on the internet!

I once encountered a guy who spent 10 paragraphs to describe his character farting. Not sure if horrid or magnificent.

Fantasy roleplays are more common probably due to the "we don't need to try and explain anything with science". -huge grin- Good for lazy people like me.

To be fair, most sci-fis fall into the category of Science Fantasy or "soft" sci-fi, where they don't actually attempt to use real science or explain anything either!
Just laser beams instead of fireballs and romulans instead of elves, etc. But I totally get what you're saying. We've got so much human history wrapped up in fantasy, it's so much easier to improvise for most of us.I hope you're enjoying the site!

Thanks, Kim! It's a great place up so far. I really adore the quirky RP search engine. In fact, I couldn't keep my mouth shut and hollered about Repository to my boyfriend and fellow roleplayers. They're checking this place out now. Yay bandwagons!
Also, historical fantasy is more common likely because history means the foundation has been experienced, and futuristic sci-fi are speculations at best. (It's definitely easier to fathom bows and maces in a war than psionics and plasma guns!)
