"It doesn't concern you." Shadow snapped with a vicious glare in his direction.
"Ah, Meister Jack. How good to see you." Lord Death clapped his large hands together gleefully. "I was just trying to convince another Meister to join the academy."

He nodded and bowed slightly. "First off, thanks for letting me take some time off after the whole ordeal." He said. He then looked at her, almost like she was examining her. "She does look like she's a good fighter, but if she doesn't want to go, I'ma have to take her side. Sorry, but you know me." He said, putting his hat back on.
"I had a feeling you'd say that but you two have no idea what a huge asset Shadow could be to the academy." Lord Death persists.
"I do have the idea that I prefer the peace and quiet of the streets to the ridiculous students around here." Shadow's tone didn't fluctuate much. It stayed the same dry voice for any of her sentences. That included when she was happy, which was rare. Very rare.

Jack listened and nodded. He thought to himself, tapping his foot as he thought. He then got and idea and looked at Shadow. "I mean no offense when I say this," He said, then turned and looked at Lord Death. "But Lord Death, I have a feeling with her, it's gonna be like trying to get through a brick wall on a child's bicycle. How about a compromise?" He explained to Lord Death.
Shadow's ears flew forward as she comprehended Jack's statement, it pleased her. "What kind of compromise?" Shadow snarled her ears flattening sideways this time, representing her curiosity.
He turned and looked at her. "Why I'm glad you asked." He said, then looked at Lord Death. "Like I said, I have a feeling you're not going toget far with her. So how about this, I agree, she could be a very powerful asset to the academy. So why not have her as a freelancer? She doesn't have to attend the academy like a student, but you could call on her or something if there's something you think she'd be perfect for." He explained to them.
"Fantastic idea!" Lord Death exclaimed.
"Fantastic for who?" Shadow grumbled. "Listen that'd be a great idea. There's only one little thing you're forgetting." Her tone changed to something an adult would use with a small child before switching back. "Aridon's a great buffoon. If he attends DWMA without someone to look after him, he'll end up killing himself on accident." Sighing, she continued. "So, fine. I'll join."
"Lovely. You are dismissed Shadow. Jack stay for a little longer if you wouldn't mind."

He watched as it unfolded. It didnt have the same reaction as he had thought, then again he didn't her partner. He shrugged and let everything go as it did. He looked at Lord Death after he asked if he could stay. "Yeah sure, but after this I'm going to get me some fish lunch. I've been dying for some fish." He said, taking his hands out his pockets, revealing his missing left pinky finger.
Shadow flicked her ears up and turned to the exit. "I'll be here tomorrow at noon." After making the statement she exited, despite her heavy boots and multiple chain accessories, she didn't make a sound.
"While Ms. Twine may be an experienced Meister she is far from trustworthy." Lord Death started once Shadow could no longer be seen. "I am charging you with the task of keeping an eye on her."

He chuckled at his statement. "For a second I thought you were going to actually tell me something important." He laughed then looked at him and stopped. " Youre serious, aren't you?" He asked.
"Quite serious." He replied. "The danger that she could bring is very real. I trust you can handle her?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I think I can handle keeping and eye on her." He said. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find her." He said, turning to go in the direction she went.
He waved. "Thank you and good luck."
Shadow stuck her earphones in and hit play on her favorite playlist. The tip of her tail flicked slightly to each beat as she made her way to the front exit of the building. 'Aridon will be ecstatic to hear this...' She thought grimly.

He jogged down the street, looking for her. He made a quick pitstop at a store and picked himself up a bag of fish shaped gummies. He continued his search for her, eating his gummies. He eventually saw her in the distance.
Shadow turned down a small side street that was much darker than the rest of the streets. She visually relaxed when she was fully in the shade. As she walked the shadows on the walls cast by the assortment of garbage cans, cardboard boxes, and stray cats seemed to follow her.
He continued jogging down the street after her. He turned down the same street she did, taking notice the of the shadows. He continued until he finally caught up to her, slightly out of breath.
"I don't appreciate you following me to my place of residence." She commented and turned around. "What do you want?" Her gaze was bored as she waited for an answer.
"Well first off, I wanna apologize for earlier. If I knew you had a partner, I would've taken that into consideration. But now that that's over with, I've been task with 'being your guide' so to say.* He explained.
Shadow shrugged. "It's fine. If Lord Death didn't convince me Aridon sure would have." She narrowed her eyes. "A guide? I think I'll do just fine without one."
"Well, either way, I'm still tasks in keeping an eye on you. And seeing as how I have way to much free time, I guess I'll be hanging around alot." He said.
