This Looking For RP topic is marked as closed, meaning it is no longer seeking new players.

Now I know what you are thinking, "Slay a god? Impossible!" And if it isn't what you were thinking then, well, my magic tricks aren't much better. But I do intend to gather a band of made up of all walks of life, good and evil, chaotic and law abiding, belligerent and... whatever it means to want to slay a deity without some sense of serious hatred.

I would also like to say that, no, we will not be chalking up god kills right away. I want this to be a relatively developed group, starting (kind of) small and developing characters as well as ridding the world of whatever you may believe it needs to be rid of. This is going to be very freeform and on the fly development as we play. Who knows what all powerful entity we may face, or even the reason leading up to the battle.

Death will be permanent and judged fairly amongst the group if need be. You may rejoin if you wish but unless someone has a way to bring you back (and I mean, it would have to be something that has some major power and would not come without a cost.) that character is done.

Alright, now the actual requirements, I am looking for 3 to 4 people as permanent party members as well as a few others, depending on the situation. It has a Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 edition feel but I personally don't have the time and patience to run a campaign, and I want it to feel less statistical and more story driven. Characters can be anything that could reasonably fit into a medieval fantasy world that is well saturated with magic.

Sweet, sweet magic

So if you are interested let me know I will post we can discuss play times and and other technical things after the party is formed. I am looking forward to joining arms to bring down one of the most dangerous hunts to date. Or maybe we will all perish, as a team of course! No matter our fate that which is not explored can not have a tale told about it. So come one, come all, onto this fantastical journey to destroy a being that's power is unmatched by any one of us alone.
Magic 90%
Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Technology 20%
Iron age
Combat 60%
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.

Details: Freeform, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred.

Draken901

I'm interested in this, though I'd have to decide which character of mine fits more... Possibly Blaire...

Thanks for expressing your interest! I looked over your character and feel that she would fit in just fine, I hope that we can gather enough people to get this going, I am already planning a couple of things just from reading over your character... I hope your interest remains piqued till we can get this rolling. And I will try and answer any questions before starting as well as drop little hints to the plot as we get closer to starting ;D
Draken901

Is there a post order? And what's your post-length expectation? My usual post length is about a paragraph.

I would prefer at least a two paragraph entry for every post but if you feel that you can only fit one that will be fine. I do expect at least two but hopefully about three or four for really intense scenes or situations that would have a profound effect on the characters or their bonds with the party members, even a bad relationship is good story as long as it remains in the RP.

As for posting order I'd say it runs that people post when they can, to take into account time zones and such, and no new action is taken until everyone has posted. Unless an issue should arise where the story needs to move forward or a player is unable to carry on playing.

I am considering playing the narrator and a character as separate posts as to roll things along should they become stale or slow. It shouldn't be rushed as to allow for character development and relationship building but needs to also allow for new events to challenge the party's wits and teamwork. Maybe even have some fun with the lack of fluidity fro their wide range fighting styles.
Hi, this is very interesting! Would my character Adrie be good for this? I used the fifth edition to make her but I don't think she'll be out of place in a fantasy setting per se.

Also, the others have pretty much already asked my questions except this: will there be a specific time that we do this? I'm still in Uni and need to plan accordingly as I'm also working and doing other RPs.

There is not really a time set right now but if you join I'm sure we could develop a marching order. I have also read over your character I would be pleased to have her included into the party. As I said the statistical portion isn't too relevant (Though I do enjoy you favored enemy, especially if Blair intends to join, that it would be quite interesting) as long as it is some form of medieval fantasy character. And since more interest has arisen I will let you in on a bit more of what I have planned...

I intend to try and have the characters play out things relating directly to who they are, rather than just an adventure that they would normally have no care to be in, as well as mixing them into each other and maybe adding some puzzles and hard-to-make decisions. It will be relatively long spanning over a few weeks (At least, if the players want more then I am always game) and will incorporate both pre made and homemade creatures. The setting is standard to D&D, with the regular humanoid races (Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, etc.) having cities and towns, while the less common are almost myth told by parents to make sure their children behave (Vampires, ghosts, leprechauns and the like).

If you both are still interested then one more person should do it, I apologize for the late response and will stay true to my word of being timely with this RP.
I'm still interested! It sounds fun.

Glad to hear! Though I am beginning to wonder if Draken is still interested as well, as he has not responded in a while. If there is anything at all that you would like to ask or want to try out I am welcoming to suggestion. Not much more to add this update, been busy with work but I do check by daily! Hopefully more interest comes about soon as my excitement and hope for a well played story with a diverse band of heroes is increasing by the day.
Draken901

Yeh, I still am.
I'm kind of interested, but I haven't made a character yet and the amount of text I do is not that much. I'm kind of new at this.

Good to hear Draken, also Unibow I am glad that you have shown interest. I have to say unfortunately at least a decent paragraph length is non negotiable, and only if the situation is sparse in descriptive content, which is a very rare case. If you feel that you can meet these requirements and would like assistance or tips in developing a character players within the website including myself would be willing to help. I would personally recommend visiting the Introductions Forum as the community here is very welcoming to newcomers.

I will soon be incorporating an idea that I came up with (as I was typing this post actually) as a means to pass time and gauge the groups writing skills, styles and preferences. Plan to hear from me again soon, as you fates will intertwine and the world as you knew it may never be the same again.

It is coming, and we shall soon be the heirs to the throne of a dead god.
Zacharie and Jozclyn (played by dave_pod)

(( perhaps an alt-U version of Zacharie here? :3 he's a magic fellow with a mind for control/deception, and a taste for Light spells/illusions. ))
Crow Du' Evard (played by Miss)

Crow is an experienced adventurer, and though she doesn't make friends or doesn't have friends, she does need a group of individuals dead. Despite her cold and calculating nature, she does make an excellent asset with spooky magic and the tenacity to take down a god. For how could she live on if the god stood in the way?
Oersted (played anonymously)

Oersted fits in this like a glove.

As an update:
  • I am still here and have been working on some things for the story.
  • I went a little overboard in my planning stage and after asking for assistance realized this so I'm putting a little piece on the side and starting the game soon.
  • I have the piece written, it is relatively long so I have been proofreading and worrying about if certain interrupt the flow, but that's more just my anxiety.
  • Life stuff! Little busy, but I have checked back every day sen the new applications and shuffled some stuff around.

Thank you for your patience if you are still interested!
Zacharie and Jozclyn (played by dave_pod)

(( no prob. take as much time as you need to figure things. :3 ))
Ciacco (played by LadyTwiddy1997)

I maybe small but I'm more than willing to help fight a god while continuing my quest 😊
