Dungeon Master (played anonymously)

Screaming people flee the condo as Doctor Bahl falls to the floor dead with a hand gun next to him with five bullets inside. Whether this man is a professor or a family friend to you and your characters, you are the only ones left in the condo... What do you do?
Samantha Ardel (played by ShadowStryker)

Sam isn't really entirely sure what's going on. All she knows is that her heart is hammering in her chest, chaos is everywhere, and, from the sounds of it, she really needs that gun. She knew that sneaking into this party for the food was probably a bad idea... But at least she isn't one of the people on the screen.

Sam elbows her way through the crowds, struggling to get to the fallen doctor's side. With a triumphant grin, she scoops up the gun, inspecting it before clicking on the safety and sliding it into the waistband of her jeans. She looks around, trying to formulate a plan of action.

Alan looks around at the pandemonium that quickly unfolded before either he or his sister could get their wits about them. He glanced back and forth, trying to assess the situation rationally. It was all he could do to calm his own nerves. After all, he needed to put up a brave front for the little one who was shaking.

(Gonna type as both of them in one character unless they're separated, it just seems like it'd be easier than switching back and forth between them constantly)

"A-Alan...what's happening? Why did the professor...d-do that...?" she asked nervously, tightening her grip on his sleeve. "A-And the TV..."

"Kirsten, take my hand and don't let go!" he commanded. She complied instantly, and his breathing only eased in the slightest. He still couldn't believe it himself: Professor Bahl, his dad's professor from back in his college days as well as a family friend, shot himself after an...overwhelming turn of events, to say the least. It'd take some clever thinking to explain all of this to Kirsten later...

It was then that he noticed a kitchen knife and a flashlight in two different areas of the room. He immediately recognized them as valuable items to have. "Nevermind that. I'll be right back. Stay here and don't talk to anyone, okay?"

"B-but what are you gonna-?" he was already gone before she could finish her sentence. His first target was the knife as it seemed like it would be more useful than a flashlight in the long run. After a little while of shoving his way through the panicked crowd, he finally reached his goal. When he acquired the weapon, he then set his sights on the light.

(Gonna wait a while before getting the light, just in case someone else wanted a crack at it >.>)
Hearts were beating like rattling boxes, and footsteps boomed through adrenaline pumped veins. Party goers of the condo stumbled, ran, and fled to the crowded entrance. They didn't heed the doctor's last words; 240 day's of apocalypse. All were just looking for a way out.

Rilla was struck with sudden fear and recognition. The doctor who blew his brains out was from the city's university she had attended. She didn't want to think about it, although she never had any classes with him. Thank God I majored in English.

She didn't know who's house this was, but knew she would need supplies, doubting the chance to make it back to her place. With that, a pang of sentimentality for her writings and photo books.

Rilla couldn't pay attention to that, and rushed to the kitchen in half a heartbeat. She rolled up the puffed white sleeves of her formal shirt, warm, wild eyes darting round. A boy was standing near the counter; and a blade from the kitchen knife set was missing. Seems like he had the same idea.

(So it's a college party? I put that the doctor was Alan's father's professor when he was in college, as well as a family friend. So naturally, Alan and Kirsten would be invited to the party. If you want, we can assumed that their father couldn't make it, so it was just them that went from his family)

((Ok))
Tanner Goodman (played by _EBG)

Tanner sighed when he found himself alone outside the condo. He always found himself alone at any place, but he didn't mind too much at the fact that he always lived alone. Homeless, friendless, obscureness. Everything about him spoke isolation. At least, that's what it seemed on the outside. Internally, he only had two special people in his life that he could count on, one of them probably inside lecturing some people in the condo like he usually does.

Tanner recalled the times that he and the professor found themselves in trouble during their days at the university. Although he only know the man for around nine years, it felt like an eternity, mostly because Tanner rarely spoke to anyone. Even at the beginning of their friendship, Tanner stayed a little distant and kept mostly to himself. It took one forceful day when the professor, though he was a student with a master's degree at the time, to drag Tanner to the Spring Fling party at their campus to convince the 21-year-old that he finally had a friend. Though at that time, the professor had been a wild and heavily educated honors student instead of the dedicated and unpredictable person he is today.

Heh, I should really thank the old man someday , Tanner thought as he rose from where he sat. He entered the room right before the professor spoke his final words. Plastering on a fake smile, he listened to his best friend speak his final words. Little did the man know that Professor Bahl would be dead in the next minute.

The professor spoke of an apocalypse (I'm going off you, Riddler) and how everyone would have to survive for 240 days. Tanner prepared to speak with important questions, but was cut short when Bahl offed himself.

Tanner's face spoke of true horror once everything went into complete pandemonium. The scattered remains forced Tanner into temporary shock as some individuals sprung into action. One girl snagged the man's suicide weapon and the ammunition to go with it while a boy quickly snagged a knife from the kitchen. It took a long while for the man to finally start moving; he had to first process the fact that his best friend just committed suicide right in front of him and get a new goal in his mind first before his body allowed him to move.

He needed to find the other person who he grew close with. He needed to find the person he fell in love with ten years ago. He needed to find the person that he would walk to the ends of the earth with. The person he'd throw his life on the line to protect.

He needed to find Sonya Rivington and he had to do it fast before this apocalypse that Bahl spoke of got any worser than it already seemed and in order to do that, he'd first need supplies. He had to find a weapon.

Glancing around, he assessed his options. Obviously, the best choice would be the kitchen since the girl had already taken the gun. Speeding into the kitchen, the man tried to find anything that he could qualify as a reasonable weapon, but he could only find the flashlight that the boy didn't take for some reason. Tanner sighed. He'd have to temporarily rely on his strength for now and he'd only possessed the strength of a fit and grown man, but he figured that'd at least be enough to get by the first day of the apocalypse.

Taking the flashlight, Tanner quickly went to exit the condo.

(I thought that it didn't matter how they were at the party, just that they were? Because I have Sam as a girl who snuck in...)
Samantha Ardel (played by ShadowStryker)

Sam glances around, eyes widening as she spots a young girl, left by herself in the middle of the pandemonium.

Oh no. She'll get hurt if someone doesn't watch her, especially with al this chaos!

She quickly makes her way to the girl, grunting as she works against the flow of the crowd trying to reach the doors. Eventually, though, she manages to reach the girl, gently but firmly grabbing her by the arm to prevent either herself or the child from getting swept away. She kneels, glancing around for a guardian of some sort before locking gazes with the child.

"Hey there, honey, are you okay? Are you lost?"
Kirsten Lyfeld (played by Flashwolf96)

Kirsten gasped at the sudden contact.

She could barely hear what the woman (girl?) said, but the gist of it came through.

"Uh...I-I'm not supposed to talk to anyone..." she replied nervously while looked around for where Alan went. She didn't want to go against Alan's orders, but she didn't want to be alone right now either.
The Lyfelds (played anonymously)

Alan was about to go for the flashlight, but someone had beaten him to the punch. He internally cursed his luck and now set his sights on returning to Kirsten to make sure nothing had happened to her. He felt a little bad for leaving her alone like he did, but he wanted to get some sort of weapons to defend them from whatever was happening outside.

He tried to spot her among the crazed mob of people, but everyone was so jumbled around that he couldn't find her.

Damn...! he thought as he began panicking. What if something happened to her?

"Kirsten!" he screamed, but his voice was drowned out by the mob. He continued yelling her name as he looked around in hopes of finding her.
Samantha Ardel (played by ShadowStryker)

Sam does her best to smile reassuringly at Kirsten, raising her voice to be heard over the crowd. "I understand, and that's very smart of you, but you look lost. Can I help you find someone?"
Kirsten Lyfeld (played by Flashwolf96)

Kirsten slowly shook her head. She didn't like the idea of going with a stranger. "N-no, I'm okay. He'll c-come back for me any second now..." she said. She sounded unsure about it. Her breaths were heavy and short, and her voice was shaky, like she was on the verge of tears. She seemed to be slightly hyperventilating.

(Yeah she gets like this when she and Alan are separated for too long)
The Lyfelds (played anonymously)

Running out of options, Alan inspected the man that had taken the flashlight. He seemed to be a calm and collected person at first glance, so he decided to team up with him. Maybe if they worked together, they could find Kirsten easier. He approached the stranger.

"Excuse me. My name is Alan Lyfeld. I'm 17 and I lost sight of my sister a short while ago. Could you help me find her? Maybe we can team up and try to get out of this mess?" he offered.
Tanner Goodman (played by _EBG)

"Tanner," came the man's response after he halted his struggle to exit the premesis. "And sure. Where'd you last see her?"

Upon first glance, he could tell that the boy hadn't lied. He seemed genuinely worried about finding his sister. Still, he had to find Sonya and couldn't risk being sidetracked. He fully prepared to reject the boy's offer, but then a sudden rush of childhood memories told him otherwise.

He was only a small child when he first got sense of the real world. He sat in a psychologist's room with a therapist who seemed more concerned about the income coming from their meetings by the government than the sanity of her actual patient. Who could blame her? Tanner was just a child who had no clue when, where, why, and how his parents left. He didn't even know who they were. His memory always grew fuzzy around his early years, so Tanner could never recall anything in the general area of that timeframe. He couldn't remember who his relatives were either. He didn't even know if he had any relatives. His life was portrayed by the hospital and the therapy room. He rarely seen the outside world. That is, until he snuck out and tried to survive the rest of his life on his own. He had been a fool back then.

Still, he didn't regret his decision. He met Sonya when he was just about ready to give up living on the streets. She took him in and helped him get on his feet before vanishing without a trace.

He had found her long ago. Apparently, she resided in Atlanta, Georgia. He planned on heading there to formally thank her, but he never found the right moment to do it. Now's a good of a time as any.

Although he wanted to say no and head out on a desperate search to find Sonya, he knew the feeling of having a lost sister, so instead of straight up rejecting the boy, he blatantly and reluctantly agreed.
The Lyfelds (played anonymously)

He immediately bowed in respect. "Thank you so much!" he exclaimed, happy that the man hadn't rejected his offer.

"I don't remember where I left her in the crowd. There are too many people rushing about for me to make heads or tails of what I'm seeing. I really hope nothing bad happens, she gets really nervous when I'm not around." he said calmly, but with a hint of worry in his tone.

(You know what would be kinda cool? If Alan and Tanner formed a team, and then Sam and Kirsten formed another, and they try to survive while also trying to reunite Alan and Kirsten, among other things of course)
Samantha Ardel (played by ShadowStryker)

Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no anxiety Sam can't even handle her own. Okay, okay think Sammy girl, think.

Sam smiles again and points to a bare spot against the wall. "How about we go sit over there and wait for your... Father? Brother? Whoever you're waiting for. I'm not going to hurt you. And I won't let anyone else hurt you, okay, hon?" She holds out her pinky. "I promise."
