Auria. City of Legends, City of Wonder, City of Gold...

On the southern shore of Oregon, just north of the California border sits a city often forgotten by the casual traveler, yet rich with wonder for any that do come to its bounty.

Supported by vast commercial interests, Auria has a thriving business community, entertainment complexes, libraries, museums, and the most successful casinos outside of Las Vegas. It truly is the unsung entertainment center of the United States.

But there are even deeper secrets within Auria. There are not so hidden houses of secret knowledge, places of ancient power and newborn sites of elemental might. Vampires, Werewolves, and even stranger beings walk the streets in a fragile peace, the facade of normal life enforced by a quiet group of city leaders, ones ever so willing to do whatever it takes to maintain the status quo.

This place truly could be the beginning or the end for any that visit. Forge the right alliances, and you may return home with the strength to raise yourself above all. Make the wrong choices, and your life may end on these city streets.

What is your path? A normal human, living the life and seeing the sights this city has to offer? An adherent to the supernatural laws, living within the system as it exists? Or a rebellious force, taking advantage of the latest power vacuum to strike your own place in the city, and become a force in your own right?

Welcome, one and all, to Auria.

((Sorry it is short. I didn't know how to answer very well.))

Kuro had somehow ended up in a town she had never heaard of. She wondered around the place, cuirous as to why she did not know of it. She though it strang as she looked around and felt that there was more to this city than meets the eye. She felt a chill run down her spin as she saw more of it. Her mismatched eyes seemed to land on everything to make sure if it was alive or dead. She knew her sanity was leaving her because she found reasoning leaving her.

Tenoji stood on the roof of a apartment complex, face turned towards the moon. He had his left eyes turned, and the stormy emerald orb of his right eye focused on the moon, the silver ring perfectly fit into the black pupil of his eye. He grinned, white teeth shining against his up-turned face as he let the moon, by magic of his ritual, grant him increased sight.

He watched the strange girl with the two-toned eyes. Her reaction was typical, it was typical of many that found their way to his city.

Yes, his city. It was a city that belong to a legion hundreds of thousands strong. But this beast, this beast was one of the few that had lived here long enough to truly call the city his...for it told him all it's secrets and laid before him bare. He didn't blame her...this strange mismatched woman. It was overwhelming at first, but it became easier.

It was her scent that marked her...as it floated to him on the breeze that came from the mountains heights that reached around the city's outskirts. Auria was a coastal city, sandwiched between the peaks and the ocean. And this girl, she smelled like a beast a little bit. An animal knew a fellow animal, supernatural or not. And what fortune, that Ten should be in the neighborhood to catch that scent. Otherwise, she might've ran afoul of something much less understanding than he.

But the question lingering in Ten's mind, was what was the nature of this newcomer's beast? It was hard to make out. Well, that peaked Tenoji's inquisitive curiosity. After all, the beasts that walked as mankind, those shapeshifters, they where his responsibility to watch out for. he should introduce himself. Yes...

Tenoji moved, adjusting the tails of his vest as he moved, the supple leather of his pants whispering creaks of their seems as he leapt from the rooftop, turning midair, swinging his arm out behind himself to catch a drain pipe and arrest his descent. The wrench of his arm was familiar, the sting of protest distant as he hung from the pipe, gripping it with ankles and knees as he slid down.

In the alleyway, his motorcycle lay. Ten's primary transportation since the Storm hit. He'd lost nearly everything else in that cataclysmic event. But he didn't want to think on the storm too greatly, he was sure he'd have to explain it later to someone. He gripped a long white coat that he had laid over the motorcycle's frame, and threw it on. The long trailing jacket was comfortable against the cool night air, as Tenoji moved out from the alleyway, and let his eyes meet the newcomer's.

Kuro stopped when she saw the man in the alleyway near her. Her long black and red streaked hair setteling against her back as she stopped moving forward. She breathed in and caught the male's scent knowing that he wasn't human as well as she. The only problem for her is that she couldn't tell what he was, which always made her uneasy. Natural she would've just kept walking until she got out of the town but something about the city made her stay longer. Her bangs slightly hid her right red eye but it was still visible. She watched the man carefully, seeing weahter he would attack her, try to take her back to her master, or not.

Ten made no move towards her, he just gave her a favorable smile. And as he did, he willed himself to change...allowing her to see. His stormy emerald eyes changed to shiny gold, as a long red fox's bushy tail appeared in the tails of his coat, wagging. He then gave her a thumbs up followed by a four-fingered 'come over here' gesture. And then he turned to the sidewalk, and began to walk away, shifting back to fully human state. The Kitsune had his mischievous ways. And it wasn't his way to force help on anyone, she had to come after it herself.

Kuro was cucirous as to why the kitsune came to her and followed him. She didn't know if she had any different froms besides the one that she calls her "Animal Side" but it only comes out when someone had made her enraged; she never could control herself with that one. She kept one of her hands in her pocket; gripping her black pocket knife encase something went wrong. She was always a caution girl, never doing anything without reason, unless she went into one of her insane moments; which rarely happens.

Siltrake smiled and laughed and he jumped over the roof tops enjoying the air. He smiled happy as he the shapeshifter enjoyed changing himself to form scales on his face and his body. He continued to jump rooftop to roof top. Not caring whom or what he scared. The city's crips ans ocean air, made him smile happily. His Bright red hair and green eyes stood out in the dark light, he contined to gaze and the bright ocean. THe scent of salt filled his nose, he smiled constantly shifting between scales and feathers. He continued to run over the roof tops, he smiled zipping by appearing as a red blur. He gazed at the sky ignoring his footing, he absently mindly stepped wrong and fell from a high roof top. He landed into an alley way, at the moment he didn't see tehre was two people there. HE fell and landed into grates and some pottery that was laid out. He fell with a thud and a crash as the boxes and the pottery snapped beneath his weight. He winced as a scale and feathers had fallen from his body and were now above his face falling as snow. He groaned and cotninued to pull himself out of the wreakcage. He was nearly about to run away when he saw a woman and a man. He blinked a couple of times and at the moment couldn't say a word. He automatically asummed they were human and immediatly jumped and backflipped landing on the ground with his palm facing down and bearing his weight on one arm. He grinned and gave a goofy smile, ginning like a jester would."and that my friends is just one of my amazing feats."he quickly said to guise the fact he fell from a three story rooftop. He contiuned to grin through his green eyes and red hair.

Tenoji allowed the girl to catch up, deliberately slowing the pace of his walking as he did so. He wanted her to walk beside him. The Kitsune gave her an easy smile, before speaking to her, "So, new to this place." He stated matter-of-factly, "Are you planning to stay in this lovely city, or are you just passing through?" He looked over the girl, his eyes roving a little. Not in a lewd way, he was taking in body language, and searching for weapons. "We might have quite a bit to talk about otherwise...."

It was then that loud interruption as the man crashed there. The kitsune raised a brow, snickering to himself without realizing it. Yet, as a feather drifted close to Ten's face he reached up and caught it between two fingers, looking at it momentarily, only to be distracted by the man's antics. Ten brought his hands together in a soft clapping, still holding the feather. Then he gave a sly little smile, holding the feather out. "Isn't it very late for a street performance? You new as well?"

Siltrake immediatly straighted himself and looked at the man that was clapping in front of him, he tilted his head slightly confused, out of habit he walked closer to the man that was speaking and looked at him very closly before backing away."Ah yes it is late, however entertainment never dies. But yes I am new. Strange man."He said with a smile brushing his face off the dirt and a few more scales that were on his face that fell to the ground with a tinkling noise. He smiled and eyes the man with his bright green eyes. He smiled somehow knowing that the man infront of him was not human, and he held the feather that siltrake shed as he fell to the ground. He grinned and looked at the man sticking his tounge out assuming another acrobatic pose."Just so you are too suspicous, I am Siltrake Sunrae, Acrobatic circus performer."He said introducing himself in a flamboyant manner.

Kuro looked at Siltrake in surprise. She nodded. "Kuro Sakuranbo, ex-" She stopped herself before she could say what she was: Expermental Halfbreed. At least that is what she called herself. She was a hand made human with little animal genes but over time him master infused more animal DNA causing her to be a halfbreed. She looked at each of the guys hoping niether of them would ask her what she was about to say. Her teeth were cletched together so she wouldn't speak.

Tenoji smiled at them, both of them, his lips curled in a coy expression, "Well, this is panning out to be quite a night." He gave a soft chuckle in his throat. He looked to Kuro first, "Kuro Sakuranbo? Black Cherries?" The Kitsune let out a laugh, and babbled in japanese for a few moments, just to see if Kuro could make heads or tails of what he was saying. He was talking to Siltrake as he did so, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he was speaking in a tongue the other man might not understand.

"単なる好奇心疑わしい。すべてのキツネは好奇心旺盛です。それが最善と最悪の形質、私の男です。たとえば、どのような男はスケールと羽を投げかけて、私の脳が僕に訊いた。確かにいない人間の男、確かに。そして避けられない問題は、彼がここでトラブルを引き起こすことがここで彼の人生、または生きている場合、来るか？はい、はい、それはそれは、問題の中心にされていませんでしょうか？"

Ten then coughed into his hand, pretending to realize he had been spouting in a native tongue this whole time, "I mean...It's not suspicion, my fellow performer. It's merely curiosity. I am cursed with an over abundance of it. Perhaps you would like to join our little night wandering, eh? Satisfy my inquisitive nature...that is...if you can keep up."

Kuro was surprised that the man could speak Japanese as well as she could. She was made in Japan and learned Japanese very easily.
"好奇心は猫を殺したが、この瞬間に、それはキツネです。"
She smriked at the joke she spoke in Japanese even though she guessed the shapeshifter didn't know what she said but she didn't care. She looked over at the shapeshifter. "I see no reason why exproling this place would be a bad thing."

Siltrake tilted his head unsure of the language they were speaking and his expression changed into complete obvliousness. HE raised a hand and opened his mouth to say something before he shook his head and assumed a grin."ah yes I do think traveling with you both shall be fun, after all I have not seen the enterity of this city. THe sea breeze the people. But the most of all im curious to see all the non-humans in this place as well. And my curisoty strikes me to know if there is a spot for me to perform."He said his bright green eyes as he looked at the manand the woman with two tonned eyes, he had no idea what he had said nor what the woman had said, he continued to speak as if nothing had happened.

Ten laughed and replied to Kuro with a mirthful smile, "Aye, the cat did die. From learning too many of the witch's cantrips if memory serves. However, I'm a wee bit more cunning than that."

He paced ahead of the two, swinging around to face them. "Wonderful, wonderful. There is no better guide to this place than me. Especially not when accompanied by two...well...let us be frank, neither of you are human, are you? She smells of animal and I notice you seem to be shedding feathers and scales at an alarming rate, sir. Might I recommend you get that checked by a doctor?" The kitsune continued, in the coy and playful tone of his. He turned about and started walking.

"Yes, I know all of this city. I have been apart of it's community for many years. Come, I'll brief you of our place in it. Let ol' Tenoji Tails be your guide tonight." And then, the fox began to sprint rapidly ahead. He vaulted over a fire hydrant and swept into an alley. He ran to the end of the alleyway, and then stopped before a chain link fence, waiting for them. He was looking at the walls, considering them. And then making up his mind, he backed himself to the left hand wall and took the other at a sprint. He climbed the wall, and then vaulted to the one opposite it, gripping on. He did this four times in rather rapid succession to climb the wall and reach the rooftop, where he waited again.

Though, and important question came of why he hadn't just used the nearby fire escape ladder...That big show-off.

Kuro followed behind Tenoji the whole way expect when he did that stun to get to the rooftop. As usual she did not want to show any signs of inhuman tricks or behaviors, so she just climbed the fire escape. "You know it is very insulting to say to a female that she smells like an animal." Kuro grinned at the joke since she really didn't care; she did however live in the woods for four or so years of her life. She soon reached Tenoji and stood up looking over at the view of the whole town. She rarely went up to high areas for the reason of her scent carrying father by the stronger winds causing it to be easier to find her.

Siltrake laughed hearing the kitsunes comment, he saw the kitsune quickly darted off as he sighed and sniffed the air and shifted to have animal attributes to allow him to keep up with the ktisune. He smiled darting after the kitsune He smiled as he did a backflip and landed in front of the kitsune and then smiled."well what were you trying to do out do me?" he asked as his body changed back into normal rather then his current form. He had the speed and agility of a cheetah he bore the eyes and the nose of one. He had the legs of a gazelle, arms of an ape. He shifted back to his normal humanoid state , and then looked at the kitsune."and im a shapeshifter so you'll never know my scent." he said with a grin looking at the entirety of the city, taking in the sites as well as the sounds."you must enjoy this city"he said looking at the kitsune with a grin.

Ryder watched as the girl entered the city, the man leapt down to join her, and that ungraceful fall of the shapeshifter. Following the small group, she kept to the rooftops. Not that she was trying to stay invisible to these people. They would see her sooner or later.
If she could stay unnoticed that was preferred, considering she was being hunted by many.
Slinking along the rooftops, she slowed to a halt and looked up at the sky. A bird called in the distance and she narrowed her eyes.

"Oh? Really?" Ten smirked playful at Kuro, "I had no idea. Among my kind, telling a woman she has a wonderful musk is a compliment." He chuckled before he looked over to the shapeshifter, "You'd be surprised, acrobat, shapeshifters have their own unique scent to them. Though, I would not be so brash with using your powers. Here, we try to keep ourselves on as low a key as possible. We walk as men, talk as men, and men remain none the wiser. This is for our sanctity and theirs. Though, it wasn't always that way." He sighed, his smile slipping a little. "And hopefully, it will be that way again."

He folded his arms and considered their location. They weren't quite in downtown, more of one of the light, squat urban sprawls that broke up the districts of skyscrapers and amusements. As such, the buildings where primarily 3-6 story apartment complexes. It was near midnight at this point, and in these sections of town, they where mostly abandoned for night life, graveyard shifts, and sleep. But that still meant they had to be somewhat careful. "See, recently this town has gone through an... upheaval. As we travel along, I'll show you what I mean." He walked along stuffing his hands into his pockets as he walked towards the far end of the roof. "But any questions so far?"

Ryder made herself known by speaking out.
"Yea I've got one. If a person needs to be safe from assassins, is this the place we should go?" Ryder said, a smirk playing on her lips.

Walking out of the shadows, she inspected the group before her. They looked instresting and had very intriguing scents.

Siltrake laughed lightly and looked at the kitsune and resumed his human form though his red hair and bright green eyes were prominet. He tilted his head curious to the troubles that took the city. He smiled as if hearing the city was in turmoil or the fact that he had to use his abilities sparingly didn't bother him."Yes I shall be a little bit more careful with my powers. The fall earlier.. well that was the clutsy side of me. it only happens very rarely. But yes, yes that is why I love the circus. I masquerade as a 'freak' so to say. But yes yes, i am more than curious to know the upheavals of the city."He said happy cirping away he looked at the place studying the humans that walked by as well as he continued to survey the sights and sound. He even took int hte scents of several people adapting his own scent to acomodate to make him smell human.
