''Peace was lost after the first sand lions went missing.''
"What'll it take to get peace returned?" Murat pressed.
''To peace to return, one must befriend be to the friend of a fallen sand bird.''
Hassan was silent for a moment and then burst out laughing. "You're kidding right? Befriend one of those things? They can't be tamed and they can't be spoken to."
Murat shuddered. "I don't even know where to find one--except for the one we found injured. And I daresay it won't want to be friends. Assuming it's even still alive."

The water lion snarls and a blast of ice cold water pummels Hassan.
''YOU DARE LAUGH AT ME?!''
''YOU DARE LAUGH AT ME?!''
The water jets hit at full blast, knocking Hassan back several paces and rolling him over. He came up coughing and spluttering, as Murat took a step forward.
"Hey! Have you even seen a sand bird? If you've met one you'd know that talking to one is nearly impossible!"
"You'll have to find a sand bird temple," muttered the Priest. "But I have no idea where one might be."

''A sand bird was my mother!'' She hissed, as another blast of water headed at Murat. The sand lion sounded offended.
Murat tried to dive out of the way, but not fast enough as he was struck by the blast of cold water. "Gah! Hey," he rolled clear, but his pants were soaked. "How were we supposed to know? You never told us anything about you. Does that mean you can talk to sand birds?"
''Yes I can, but they hate humans for killing them. They soured at seeing the land be populated, and theor temple left to fall apart. It's buried now.''
Murat flinched. "Oh. I guess I'm partially to blame for that--but they attacked me first! Why would they go after other towns and tribes?"
"Besides," Hassan added, though he dripped water everywhere, "we can always build a new temple to them."
"Besides," Hassan added, though he dripped water everywhere, "we can always build a new temple to them."
''It has to be built out of the sand from the fallen ones.''
"Well, we know where to find that...wait but that's impossible. They turn to water when they're killed!" Murat replied.
Murat scowled. "The least we can do is use the sand left over from it. Or create a temple by an oasis..." he trailed off helplessly.
She conjured up a ball of wet sand and flung it at Murat, laughing childishly.
It splatted against Murat's tunic and he looked down at it with a sigh. He brushed off what he could and then shook his head. "You and Cassandra maybe should talk about how to control powers. She could use the advice, and maybe learn a trick or two."
Hassan was already forming his own sand clod to throw at the water lioness.

The water lioness looked at Hassan, then a wave of soapy water washed over him. ''Hahaha!'' She cackled, then looked at the Priestess.
Cass still hid behind Murat, trembling.

The Priest sighed. "If you are going to cause some chaos, I would prefer you take it outside. This is a place of respectable silence. Usually."
Murat patted Cass. "Yeah, I feel you there, Cass." He murmured as Hassan let out a string of curses when he was covered in soapy water.

The water lion cackled and darted outside quickly, leaving a trail of sandy water behind.
''Water lions are surely apt to causing chaos...'' Cass whined.

Hassan chased after the water lionness while Murat took his time. "What gave it away?" he mused to Cass. "Water never really was one for running in straight lines anyway. And if she has the lineage of Sand Birds in her line...I think I can see where her flightiness comes in."
The Priest watched them go with a sigh before finding someone to clean up the mess they'd left behind.
