The water sand lion would turn around and headbutt Hassan playfully, giggling. Her wings fluttered, but she didn't fly. ''Why are you chasing me?'' She asked, giggling.
''She acts so childish..'' Cass muttered,
''She acts so childish..'' Cass muttered,
Hassan leaped, hoping to land on her back. "I'm not chasing--I'm trying to catch you."
Murat shook his head. "As old as she is, you'd expect some sort of...reverence from her. But maybe that's asking too much. Give her ten minutes with Hassan. He'll wear her down."

Hassan lands on her back and she yowls, hissing and swiping. Bad memories of capture floooding her mind as she snarled and went crazy. It also started to to rain.
Cass gacked, hissing.
Cass gacked, hissing.
Hassan clung onto her for dear life, holding onto the part where wings met her shoulders. "Stop fighting!" he yelled. "I'm not going to hurt you."
Murat laughed. "Camels are more your thing, Hassan. Give it up."
Murat laughed. "Camels are more your thing, Hassan. Give it up."
She hises but stops fighting, ears pinned back with her wings spread a bit. Her fur was soaked as the rains began to pour down violently, thunder crackling the air like wood hitting water. It cackled violently, lighting flashing within the storm clouds. ''Then what do you want?'' She hissed.
Cass ducked Murats arm, trying to keep dry. But being her size meant on her head would fit.

Murat backpedaled for the temple as the water gushed down from overhead. "Is there a sand bird or something in the area?" he asked.
Hassan pats the sand lioness' shoulder and grins. "This is perfect." He slides off in a quick dismount so she couldn't buck him off and then starts running back to the temple. "But I hate getting wet!"

The water sand lion yowled and chased after Hassan. A giant Thunderbird appeared, and swooped down. It's talons grazed his back roughly enough to leave a scar before it retreated back into the booming clouds.
''Hassan!'' Cass yelled, but ran into the temple.
''Hassan!'' Cass yelled, but ran into the temple.
Hassan never saw it coming, too blinded by the rain as he was. But sharp pain raced up his back and he fell face first into the wet sand. He couldn't move as blood welled up from the score the Thunderbird had left on him.
Murat turned around and headed back into the rain. "Hassan! Get up!" He was down beside his fallen knight and trying to get him up...when the two camels raced toward them. "Let's go!"

Cass attempted to help Hassan up as the water sand lion got closer. The rai was pouring down, soaking the ground as lighting flashed. A thunderbird could be seen flying in the clouds, watching.
Hassan made it to his feet, and between Murat and Cass made it back to the temple, where the three of them collapsed.
Murat pulled Hassan's tunic back to look at his back and winced. The wound look cauterized, such that it didn't bleed but it looked burned.
"H-how is it?" Hassan asked.
"It's not bleeding," Murat replied. "But you're gonna have a dashing scar. How does it feel?"
"Like I got burned." Hassan sighed.

Cass cringes, and looked back once inside. The water sand lion had vanished into thin air.
''Well, the lions gone now..You ok, Hassan?''
''Well, the lions gone now..You ok, Hassan?''
Hassan slowly got to his feet once more. "Yeah, I'll survive. Takes more than a scrape to take me out." He grimaced as he rolled his shoulders and then removed his tunic altogether to reveal the jagged mark. "That's better."
Murat made a face and tried not to look at the mark. "You should see the healer, they might be able to help fix it."
Hassan shook his head. "Been once already, any more and my body will begin to reject their powers. I'm good. I'll be fine."

''So now we know that this water sand lion is annoyed at us. What could calm her down?''
"A bucket of ice cold water? Maybe some sand? Actually, the rain storm from the thunderbird did very nicely," muttered Hassan sourly.
Murat shook his head. "Food, probably. Food and respect."
Murat shook his head. "Food, probably. Food and respect."
''What kind of food? We'd have to lure her out of hiding.''
Murat shrugged. "You like sand. Would a water lioness like water? Or maybe fish?" He had no idea.
Hassan quirked an eyebrow. "You're going to try looking for fish in the desert? Without taking on a sand bird? Good luck."

''A place called the Glass Depository has aqauariums full of fish from fallen sand birds.'' Cass piped up.
"Where is that? I haven't been there before," Murat said.
"Oh, it's probably on the outskirts of the town, nearest the oasis," Hassan replied. "I'll bet that's where it is."
"You want to go there now?" Murat asked. "We don't even know where the water lioness went."
