The fox backs away, then starts to flee. Or tried to.

"Follow him!" Murat yelled, kicking at Jasafar to follow.

Hassan moves as well to chase.

The fox ran to the ruins, the winds picking up violently.

Hassan scrambled for cover a little and looked around.

"I think we're nearing a thunderbird's nest. I hope we are, at least."

"Let's just hope it's not another sand bird!" Murat called back.

The winds turn more violent, sand kicking up as a thunderstorm reared to life.

Murat and Jasafar had to take refuge in some sort of shelter, but Hassan continued on ahead, forging his way blindly towards the destination where he'd last seen the fox.

"Be careful, Hassan. It's going to be a doozy of a storm."

The fox darts into the ruins, it's trail clear as the rains began to pour. Several thunderbirds screeched, and flew to the nest of solid clouds forming onto the tallest remaining structures.

"Stay here, Murat, I'm going after the fox." Hassan yelled back. He pursued the trails, determined to see where it was going. Surely there must be some sort of shelter if the fox was heading towards the thunderbirds.

Murat hunkered down with Jasafar. "I'll guess we'll find out soon enough. I just hope nothing serious happens."

The fox darts into a tent quickly, a falchion glinting from it's side. The tent was old and rugged, and leaning hazardly to the right as the winds began to pick up violently.

Hassan followed insofar as he saw the leaning tent, but spying the glint of the weapon at the fox's side, he wasn't particularly keen on following it into an enclosed location.

Instead, seeing the tilt of the tent, he paused outside and circled around. He spied the problem immediately; the pegs in the ground had come loose, probably with the winds whipping up it would collapse entirely.

He drew his knife and used the pommel to pound the stake back into the ground. Then did the same for the second peg. He wouldn't want to get trapped in fabric with an armed fox, after all. And then the winds were getting to be too much.

Murat scowled as he waited for Hassan. He envisioned his fellow knight being bit and scratched and then, in spite of himself, chuckled.

The fox poked it's head out from the tent, the helmet rattling as it then hissed loudly. Fur frizzed out as the fox snapped at the air, and beside it in the tent was a stash of quicksand gems that looked aincent.

Hassan looked in and then grinned. "You've got yourself a nice little pile of loot, haven't you?" But he didn't dare enter. "I'm not taking any of it, relax."

He cast a look over his shoulder though to check on the thunderbirds. They weren't letting up anytime soon. "Uh, I fixed your 'cave'. Can I spend a few minutes inside for cover? I promise I won't take anything."

It hissed but nods slightly, skitterin over to curl up in front of the gems. It's falchion was still sharp, and the armor looked tightly fit for such a medium-sized creature that looked well fit to attack. It also had a fake mustache.

Amused but wary, for animals with weapons were sure to an oddity and that coupled with its particular obssession with the jewels, put Hassan in an interesting predicament. Still, he took a seat inside the tent, really, barely just within the tent flap so that the thunder and winds were alleviated, though he kept his hands visible at all times. No sleight of hand here.

He kept an eye on the fox, in case it should decide to use the falchion--though how it might do that was a mystery to him, for it didn't have hands, just paws and a mouth of sharp little teeth.

The fox looked at him then inched over ever so quietly and sniffed his hand. A fox wearing old warrior garb, with a large spear leaned against the tent walls. It looked cute and fluffy, but seemed wise beyond its looks. It seemed wary of his appearance, and nervous at the storm.

Hassan watched the fox out of the corner of his eyes, ready to snatch his hand away if it looked like the fox was going to even try to take a bite. Really though, Hassan's hand smelled like baked sand with a metallic sharpness that came from practicing with his scimitar.

He eyed the spear against the wall of the tent and then gazed back outside. "Hopefully the storm won't last too long..." He was getting antsy; the stash of jewels catching his eye as one particular green jewel stood out from the others--just begging to be looked at. But no, he was a guest and he preferred staying in one piece.

The fox then looked at the green gem, looked at Hassan, then nudged it to him carefully. It wagged ir's tail a bit as the storm finally begun to slack. The birds went back into hiding, screeching loudly. There were old pots as well, even an old bottle that used to contained some clean water for olden days. The tent was made of animal skin tightly bounded to bones. The pegs were wood, but aged greatly. All the gems were dull, but still pretty.

Hassan looked at the fox and then at the gem and then back to the fox. "Wha-?" He was obviously surprised. That the fox would let him look at it, for surely the fox didn't intend for him to take it.

Hassan reached carefully for the gem, ready to snatch his hand back if it was a trick. But at last his fingers closed around it and he looked it over. He used the edge of his burnoose to wipe the dust off and renew its shine. And he grinned.

"Nice," he murmured, forgetting all about the storm.

The fox peered outside, them darted off. It returned with an old cloth that had a picture of a knight of old times.

Setting the green jewel aside, Hassan looked at the decorated, if faded, cloth, and frowned. "Where did you get that?" he asked the fox, forgetting for a moment he was talking to an animal that likely wouldn't understand.
