Hassan tried really hard not to laugh, but he couldn't help the smile. "There's no fox depicted," he said. "Surely you don't mean you're the knight!"
It growled, ears pinned back. ''It's not funny!'' It suddenly hissed, though it's voice was hard to tell if it had came from this medium-sized fox.
Hassan paused in surprise, his smile momentarily vanishing. "Who said that?" He looked around the tent and then peered outside. "Murat? Are you here?"
He wouldn't put it past the other knight to pull a joke on him. But his eyes landed back on the fox. "If you are a knight, how'd you get turned into a fox?"

''A priest of my city turned me into one after I broke an oath!''
Hassan drew back a little. "What kind of oath did you break?" No offense, but he didn't want to get drawn into something that would possibly affect him as well. He doubted he'd be able to explain to Murat why or how he'd turned into a fox. Or whether Murat would even listen to him.
''The one oath no one is to break. To not desert your friends.''
Hassan nodded. "Never to desert nor to betray," he said. "What happened? Why did you need to desert them?"
Hassan's jaw dropped. "What did you do? Eat them?" His hand strayed a little to his hilt, unsure what the fox had planned. Maybe all this was a trick?
It pinned it's ears back, looking at the skeletons on the gems.
Hassan backed up again, leaving the jewel untouched. That wasn't a good sign! "I-uh-oh look, the storm cleared. I think I'm gonna step outside for a moment..."
The fox hissed, fur fuzzing out. ''Sorry, but since I told you..'' It said, pulling the flachion from the holder. ''I have to kill you.''
"What? What?! Why do you have to kill me?" Hassan scrambled out of the tent, drawing his scimitar in defense. "I'm just a wandering knight! I don't know who I'd tell your secret too!"
The fox swiped at him with it's falchion, stumbling a bit. ''You know too mmuch!''
Hassan leapt back, blocking with his scimitar. "I wouldn't have asked if I had known I'd be killed. Is this why you were turned into a fox? You're cunning and treachery certainly lives in the name!"
The fox hisses and swipes harder, blocking his strikes. It's armor was faded, and weak.
Hassan stopped retreating and finally attacked with a flurry of blows. The fox needed to know what he was up against, and Hassan was tired of playing the fall guy.
He'd press on until the fox either gave up or was worn down too much to pursue.

The fox tried hard to keep up, but eventually fell from bring tired and landed with a soft thud.
Hassan hadn't expected such strength from the fox, and he too was out of breath, panting and his arm was sore. He lowered his scimitar. "I could skin you now, fox. But I won't."
He turned to go. "If you ever want to regain your human form, you might think about trying to overcome that nasty habit of back stabbing your friends."
