"I didn't hurt him badly!" Hassan defended himself. "Just come with me."
Murat levered himself to his feet and sighed. "Alright, alright, we're coming. Jasafar?" The camel got to his feet as well and took two steps before looking at Cassandra.
"Um, right, one more thing," Hassan said, "the fox evidently has a rune for wind on it's hind leg." Or had. He wasn't sure if the rune was on the slightly more human figure.

''Is it still a fox?'' As she caught up to the group, sneezing from the thunderbird feathers.
"Yes, and no," Hassan replied as he led them to the tent where he'd left the human-ish fox. "I don't know if he's still there, let alone wants to have company...he did try to kill me earlier..." So saying he carefully went to the tent. "Uh, hey, you awake in there?"
Murat glanced at Cassandra. "Still a fox? Anything we need to know about it before it, say, comes charging out at us?"
Murat glanced at Cassandra. "Still a fox? Anything we need to know about it before it, say, comes charging out at us?"
The fox-like person groans, coughing harshly. ''Uuuugh....'' They said, rolling to their back, ears hung at sides.
Cass flinched. ''That don't sound like fox.''
Cass flinched. ''That don't sound like fox.''
Hassan crouched down next to the guy to check on him. "I'm a friend," he said softly, grabbing for a waterskin. "Do you need something to drink?" He had no idea where or what the nearest source of water even looked like. But obviously the fox had had one or else it would have left the area.
Murat sighed. "We should go see if he needs help. The last thing Hassan needs is to be torn apart by a fox..." He trailed off as he peeked into the tent to find--not a fox, that was for sure.

The guy's ears twitched upon hearing Murat and he flinched awake, jumping to his feet quickly from being startled. He'd have grabbed his falchion had it not been tossed away. ''Murat?''
Hassan blinked as did Murat when they heard his name being said.
"You know me?" Murat asked, hesitantly, taking in the odd shape of the man-fox before him.
"You know me?" Murat asked, hesitantly, taking in the odd shape of the man-fox before him.
''Desert knight, right?'' They hissed, armor rattling dully. ''I'm Morlia.''
Murat's face went white--quite a feat given how tanned he was by the harsh desert sun.
"Morlia Artiran?" He breathed the name as Hassan furrowed his brow in confusion. "There were rumors about you in the city. What happened to you?"
"Morlia Artiran?" He breathed the name as Hassan furrowed his brow in confusion. "There were rumors about you in the city. What happened to you?"
Mor pinned his ears back. ''Conmrades got sick...I had to kill them...Got cursed...''
Murat hesitantly reached to touch the ears and then stopped. "You're not the same fox we saw earlier. You're bigger, more human."
Murat looked at Hassan. "What did you to him?"
Hassan got defensive. "Nothing! There was, well, there was a jewel embedded in his jaw so I removed it. Sorry. And then he turned out like this."

''The others got too ill...I had to end their suffering. I got cursed and turned into a feral fox for supposedly abandoning my friends. When all I did was put them out of their pain. I hid here, hoping no one would find me so I would die..But I grew weary of my surroundings and decided to try to live.'' Then they sighed, ears hung. ''Thunderbirds raised me after I lost everything.''
Murat nodded. "You've made peace with the thunderbirds, then? That's quite a feat. Some would say impossible."
He frowned. "Is that what those feathers were? We were covered in strange feathers when we woke up after the storm."
He frowned. "Is that what those feathers were? We were covered in strange feathers when we woke up after the storm."
''Yes, baby thunderbirds that keep the lighting from hitting you. This city has become their home.''
Murat smiled at the thought of baby thunderbirds. "We're actually looking for the thunderbird temple. Do you know where it is?"
''Far past the old run down armory is the temple.''
"Would you like to come with us?" Murat asked. "I'm sure that part of your curse has been lifted by now."
He sighs. ''I'm just a fox thing now...No one would reconize me and I'm aware a bounty of 67 Ivory Snakes is out for my capture.''
"Actually, it's gone up to 100. But, there's no way they'd recognize you now. You'd just need to change your name, then you could resettle back--somewhat--into society." Murat offered a hesitant smile. "You can think about it on the way to the temple, how about that?" He offered his hand down to the fox-human.
