So, I went to the Renaissance Faire today for..

The first time in forever!

I decided that I was going to really go all-out this time and dress up. I got the dress, then with the leftovers from a gift card I made the decision to get the wig as well. I already had her necklace from a purchase last year.
Best. Decision. Ever.
I had little girls coming up to me, wanting to get pictures with 'Princess Anna'. They were all so excited and it was SO adorable. I played Anna to the best of my ability.

And I FINALLY got what I've been wanting for FOUR YEARS (since the last time I went) ;

The dragon puppet!!
This was the first time I was able to go with a decent amount of my own money. I was super excited (I also ended up getting hit on by the dragon-seller and he asked for my number... ; First time that's ever happened. I had to explain I had a boyfriend LOL).

Overall, I had a fabulous time! I know a couple on here that do Ren Faire stuff, but has anyone else been to any of the Renaissance Faires?

Well Ohios ren faire is by far the best I have been to. The ones in Canada just don't do it for me since they're mostly in fields with tents while Ohio has actual old fashioned buildings. The pictures I posted are actually from a Larp thing I volunteer for at the Castle in Midland Ontario. Its mostly for kids though. ((I posted those pictures because I lost a ton of weight and look way better now )) And thank you!

It's pretty popular. They've got jousting events and everything. And they have special events for some weekends. It's great

Not sure if anyone is watching this topic, but Redbeard and I are going to the PA renaissance festival this Sunday, 9th. We go to Maryland on most other weekends.

Will you be going any other time this month at all? I babysit Sunday afternoon but I really want to see you guys!
I'll be going possibly the weekend of the 15th, and I'm definitely going the 22nd and 29th.

Only on Sundays, sorry! Redbeard works on Saturdays.

While I've been to plenty of cons, I've never been to a Ren Faire (although there was that pirate faire one time). Looks like a lot of fun!

Awesome! I don't know how long I'll stay, either. I might not arrive until around lunchtime, because I want to go to sunday school in the morning. But I will put your number in the phone and I'll text you!

I went to one with my girlfriend once, though without costumes. It was a pretty awesome experience, and we'd go back in a heartbeat. I don't remember the name of the place, but it was built for the sole purpose of hosting renaissance festivals, and had permanent structures put in for the shops people set up in.

Oh, Scarborough, that's it! Dunno how that one slipped my mind. It was a good time, and seemed pretty beginner friendly. (Sadly, we missed the jousting tournament)

At my local faire, the Maryland one, the jousting can be kinda boring because it isn't scripted! Which makes it even more awesome in some ways. But the jousting field is in the absolutely sunniest place in Revel Grove, so I actually haven't watched our joust in many years, despite going 6+ times per year. I really enjoy PARF's scripted, kinda cheesy joust.
